MID-AUTUMN FESTIVALVIETNAMESE TET TRUNG THU
Tet Trung Thu is often considered the “children’s Tet” and a special celebration that
focuses on being grateful for a plentiful harvest. As a result, fruit often plays a central
part in decoration and any activities geared towards children are meant to capture
the imagination and interest of our youngest members of society and is often
celebrated in school.
The annual harvest festival in Vietnam is seen as a wonderful celebration of
Vietnamese culture, especially geared towards children. The mid-autumn festival
incorporated the Elementary school in the student classrooms and all over the
school. Children painted masks, interviewed a tohe maker, and received a visit from
musicians playing traditional instruments, played fun games.

MUSIC, DRAMA, AND THE ARTSMIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS GET ARTSY!
At Concordia, Arts an important part of our
curriculum and it has been such a blessing to see
just how much our students shine when given the
chance to showcase their talent. On a regular basis,
the school hallways echo with the sounds of our
school choir practicing along the staircase (pictured
above). The Concordia choir has also been invited
to participate in a Choral Festival and the National
Opera House in Hanoi on November 28, so make sure
to come out and see them then.
Now when people talk about DRAMA at Concordia,
it is always said with a smile and for those who
attended the most recent Fall Production of Almost
History, they would understand the amazing hard
work and talent these students have put into the play.
Student physical artwork is also a huge component
of the Art program at Concordia so we thought we
would give you a taste here. On the left is a digital
artwork piece by High School student, Joy Shin.
