Jen Wood and MichaelGilbert exchanged wed-ding vows in front offamily and friends duringan outdoor ceremony atWheogo Park, Forbes, at3.30pm on Saturday, Jan-uary 19, 2013.

Jen, a teacher andMichael, a real estateagent, were married byForbes celebrant LaurelHull, who has known thebride since she was achild.

An A-line V neckedsweep train gown wasworn by the bride.

The gown was also de-signed by the bride andmade from imported silkby specialist bridal coutu-rier Robyn Spicer of Mel-bourne.

The gown was handfinished using delicatelace dyed to complementthe colour of the brides-maids’ dresses.

The bride wore hermother’s veil with a newpearl comb headpiece.

Accessories includeddrop pearl earrings, adouble string pearlbracelet, a family pearlnecklace and the bride’s

great grandmother’s dia-mond broach.

Jen’s ‘something blue’was a sapphire ring.

The wedding ringswere designed and madeby Robb’s Jewellers. Theywere tied to ring cushionsmade by the bride’smother from hankies,fabric and ribbon belong-ing to the bride andgroom’s grandmothers.

Assisting Jen were herfriends and bridesmaidsMegan Trewhella, Shel-ley Ashby, Fiona Gibbs,Angela Sinclair and Kel-lie Kerr.

The bridesmaids allwore turquoise knee-length de lustred satindresses featuring gath-ered skirts with thebridesmaids choosingtheir own individualbodice design.

Their hair was done byHair with Style andmakeup by the bride’scousin, Sophie Bleyer.

The bride and herbridesmaids all carriedwhite lisianthus sur-rounded by silver greydusty miller foliage andcomplemented with

Brunei nuts created byBanksia Grove Florist.

Flowergirl Eliza Kerrwore a cotton three-quar-ter length dress with theskirt gathered into a semi-fitted bodice trimmedwith shaded turquoiseribbons, made by DliaLennane of Grenfell.

Michael was assistedby his brother and bestman Jason Gilbert,brother and groomsmenScott Gilbert and friendsJarrod O’Connor, GlennPenno and HeathBurgess.

The men wore steelgrey pants and matchingwaistcoats with whiteshirts and light turquoiseties.

Bridal cars were PeterRobb’s red and whiteFord Grand Toreno andtwo stretch limousinesfrom Orange Limousines.

The reception washeld at Eat Your Greens,Eugowra, for 120 familyand friends.

Memories of the cere-mony and of the bridalparty were captured byDenise Yates of DA YatesGrenfell and Andrew

Kerr of the reception.The wedding cake was

made by a friend CherylHall, a friend and workcolleague of the bride.

The cake was a twotier square mud cake withwhite marzipan icing dec-orated with narrowturquoise ribbon andtopped with woodenblocks spelling the word

‘love’ and tied withturquoise ribbon.

Jen and Michael planto honeymoon mid-yearthis year with a trip toSamoa and Port Douglas.

Jen is the daughter ofKeith and Suzie Wood ofForbes while Michael isthe son of Leon Gilbertand Bev Gilbert ofBendigo, Victoria.

A rustic celebration of loveOccupational therapist Emily West wed

field manager Nick Dykes in a garden cere-mony at ‘Westleigh’ on South Lead Road,Forbes at 3pm on Saturday, December 8,2012.

Emily, the daughter of Geoff and Mar-garet West of Forbes and Nick, the son ofAnn and Brian Dykes of Yarrawonga, Victo-ria chose Emily’s childhood family home asthe venue of their wedding.

Emily chose an art deco style silk satingown with a plunging backline which wascomplemented with an antique look beadedlace feature over the shoulders.

The dress, which was made by thegroom’s mother Ann Dykes, was finishedwith a beaded hair comb and birdcage veil.

Emily’s ‘something old’ was an antiquemarcasite brooch which belongs to hergrandmother Marj West.

Additional touches to the ensemble were

hair by Classic Touch, Parkes, make up byBlush Organic Beauty, Forbes.

Assisting Emily was her older sister Kat-rina Haskins and younger sister Sally West.

The two bridesmaids wore rust-coloureddupion silk in 50s style knee-length dressesdesigned and made by Jessica Young of Jes-sica Lauren Designs, Burramine, Victoria.

All women carried bouquets of flowers,foliage, gumnuts and succulents created byOlivia Turner from Margaret West’s garden.

Nick was supported by best man MarcLonergan and groomsmen Dean Bigger.

The men wore Shoreditch charcoal greysuits featuring black, white and greenchecked shirts.

Special entertainment during the weddingceremony was by a band of the groom’scousins and brother, especially for the day.

Following the wedding family and friendstravelled to Eat Your Greens function centre

for the reception. The wedding cake was a two tier choco-

late mud and fruit cake made by ShirleyMyers and decorated with fresh cymbidiumorchids arranged by Olivia Turner.

Table centres at the reception featuredsucculent pots planted and grown by thebride’s father Geoff.

Entertainment at the reception was by Patand Kellie Trio.

All wedding stationery was designed,hand lino printed and illustrated by thegroom’s cousin Chris Nix.

Wedding photos were by Denise andMichael Yates of DA Yates Photography,Grenfell, with videography by Luke andKelly Tobin of Resolutionary.

Nick and Emily honeymooned in Borneoand Langkawi, Malaysia, before returning tomake their home in Hawthorne, Victoria.
