Jen Wood and Michael Gilbert exchanged wed- ding vows in front of family and friends during an outdoor ceremony at Wheogo Park, Forbes, at 3.30pm on Saturday, Jan- uary 19, 2013. Jen, a teacher and Michael, a real estate agent, were married by Forbes celebrant Laurel Hull, who has known the bride since she was a child. An A-line V necked sweep train gown was worn by the bride. The gown was also de- signed by the bride and made from imported silk by specialist bridal coutu- rier Robyn Spicer of Mel- bourne. The gown was hand finished using delicate lace dyed to complement the colour of the brides- maids’ dresses. The bride wore her mother’s veil with a new pearl comb headpiece. Accessories included drop pearl earrings, a double string pearl bracelet, a family pearl necklace and the bride’s great grandmother’s dia- mond broach. Jen’s ‘something blue’ was a sapphire ring. The wedding rings were designed and made by Robb’s Jewellers. They were tied to ring cushions made by the bride’s mother from hankies, fabric and ribbon belong- ing to the bride and groom’s grandmothers. Assisting Jen were her friends and bridesmaids Megan Trewhella, Shel- ley Ashby, Fiona Gibbs, Angela Sinclair and Kel- lie Kerr. The bridesmaids all wore turquoise knee- length de lustred satin dresses featuring gath- ered skirts with the bridesmaids choosing their own individual bodice design. Their hair was done by Hair with Style and makeup by the bride’s cousin, Sophie Bleyer. The bride and her bridesmaids all carried white lisianthus sur- rounded by silver grey dusty miller foliage and complemented with Brunei nuts created by Banksia Grove Florist. Flowergirl Eliza Kerr wore a cotton three-quar- ter length dress with the skirt gathered into a semi- fitted bodice trimmed with shaded turquoise ribbons, made by Dlia Lennane of Grenfell. Michael was assisted by his brother and best man Jason Gilbert, brother and groomsmen Scott Gilbert and friends Jarrod O’Connor, Glenn Penno and Heath Burgess. The men wore steel grey pants and matching waistcoats with white shirts and light turquoise ties. Bridal cars were Peter Robb’s red and white Ford Grand Toreno and two stretch limousines from Orange Limousines. The reception was held at Eat Your Greens, Eugowra, for 120 family and friends. Memories of the cere- mony and of the bridal party were captured by Denise Yates of DA Yates Grenfell and Andrew Kerr of the reception. The wedding cake was made by a friend Cheryl Hall, a friend and work colleague of the bride. The cake was a two tier square mud cake with white marzipan icing dec- orated with narrow turquoise ribbon and topped with wooden blocks spelling the word ‘love’ and tied with turquoise ribbon. Jen and Michael plan to honeymoon mid-year this year with a trip to Samoa and Port Douglas. The two bridesmaids wore rust-coloured dupion silk in 50s style knee-length dresses designed and made by Jessica Young of Jes- sica Lauren Designs, Burramine, Victoria. All women carried bouquets of flowers, foliage, gumnuts and succulents created by Olivia Turner from Margaret West’s garden. Nick was supported by best man Marc Lonergan and groomsmen Dean Bigger. The men wore Shoreditch charcoal grey suits featuring black, white and green checked shirts. Special entertainment during the wedding ceremony was by a band of the groom’s cousins and brother, especially for the day. Following the wedding family and friends travelled to Eat Your Greens function centre for the reception. The wedding cake was a two tier choco- late mud and fruit cake made by Shirley Myers and decorated with fresh cymbidium orchids arranged by Olivia Turner.
