Jerrys Cooperative Development Initiative
Guiding principles The community is the client for the Jerrys Cooperative Development Initiative
(JCDI). The community includes individuals, family units, and the Northsideneighborhoods including McKinley, Hawthorne, Jordan, Folwell, Webber-Camden, Cleveland, and Victory. JCDI will not serve special interests.
Jerrys Cooperative Development Initiative will only support communityinitiatives that contribute to sustainable economic development and result
in benefits and profits remaining in Northside neighborhoods. JCDI willnot support predatory activities in Northside neighborhoods that result inbenefits and profits accruing primarily to individuals or organizations that donot have long-term commitments to the empowerment of Northside residents.
In order to accomplish these principles, the Jerrys Cooperative DevelopmentInitiative will work with other Northside stakeholders to develop aprescribed process for organizations to establish community programs andprojects in Northside neighborhoods. The goal of this prescribed process willbe to coordinate efforts and resources, maximize positive clientoutcomes, and ensure sustainability for economic and community
development.
