HISTORY
The technology was born in 1994.
The first version was released July 1999. The projected low cost of a Bluetooth chip is
~$5.
In 1998 Intel, Ericsson, IBM, Nokia, andToshiba formed the Bluetooth SpecialInterest Group (SIG).
To date, 800 companies world wide are
members of the Bluetooth SIG.

Uses a radio technology called
FREQUENCY-HOPPING SPREADSPECTRUM.
Data exchanges through a secure, globallyunlicensed Industrial, Scientific and Medical
