WELCOME TO A1P1
A little about me…This is my 20th year teaching in
Montgomery. I taught math at RVCC for 3 years while I was completing my teacher’s certification at Rutgers.
I have a master’s in Statistics and a bachelor’s in Zoology from the University of Wyoming. Prior to teaching, I was a QA statistician at J&J for 10 years.

GRADING
90% Assessments (quizzes, tests, projects)quizzes range from 6-50 pointsminor tests 50-70 pointsmajor tests 100 points
10% Homework2 points per assignment1 point if ½ done or late0 points if less than ½ done

All 4 algebra 1 part 1 teachers use common assessments and grading policies.
Students are welcome to attend extra help days with a different teacher if needed.
Students are encouraged to visit all 4 teacher web pages (Reed, Nowak, Wescoe and Mardekian) to look for extra resources.
General classroom procedures
Students are required to keep a 3 ring binder for class.
The binder should be divided into four sections:

Portfolios
Each student will have a portfolio containing major assessments along with corrections and reflections. This will be kept in the classroom.
After every assessment, students are required to complete an Assessment Reflection which must be signed by a parent/guardian. Copies of this form will be distributed to students, or may be printed out at home from my web page.
