LOSTSOLO PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION IN GALERIE ZOOM FRIDAY, JANUARY 7 TO JANUARY 20, 2011
MD. MARUF HASAN (ABHI)
aruf Hasan Abhi is an experimental photographer working on environment
since 2000. This exhibition titled ‘lost’ will focus on the aspect of changing biodiversity. This theme of collection will express the irreversible changes over the life and society. The so called civilized urban life is destroying the rural life in the name of modernization. That’s what he tried to represent in this photo exhibition.

hen I come from so far away with the only intention of taking pictures, I feel from
deep inside of me a tremendous concentration which instantly wipe out “stories of differences” in which human beings lock themselves up. Then I am able to refuse naturally and in silence all that is related to exotism or clichés. In such moments, one must hold to his confidence, convictions and desire to go deeper.”

TRIBUTE TO CLAUDE CHABROL (1930-2010): A RETROSPECTIVEFILM FESTIVAL ORGANIZED BY ZRFS AND AFD IN AUDITORIUM FREE ENTRANCE
One of the pioneers of the French Nouvelle Vague or New Wave, Claude Chabrol was also the first to release his film (Le beau Serge in 1958). Born on June 24, 1930, Chabrol was one of the five young film critics who used to write in the influential French film journal Cahiers du Cinéma (the others were Jean-Luc Godard, François Truffaut, Jacques Rivette and Éric Rohmer). These critics-turned-filmmakers, along with Alain Resnais, Chris Marker, Jean Rouch, Agnes Varda, Louis Malle, Jacques Demy, Roger Vadim, Claude Lelouch, and others, initiated a movement, which would change the nature and method of filmmaking all over the world. Considered a master of mystery, Chabrol was very much influenced by Alfred Hitchcock. Chabrol’s films probe the latent malice beneath the placid surface of bourgeois life. From 1958 until his death onSeptember 12, 2010, this prolific filmmaker made 72 films.
We pay our homage to Chabrol with a comprehensive selection of 18 films made by him.

EXPRESSION OF FREEDOMSOLO PAINTING EXHIBITION IN LA GALERIE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11 TO FEBRUARY 24, 2011
MD. NAZMUL HAQUE BAPPY
he Oriental painting is mainly focused on water color wash system with its own
characteristics. Artist Md. Nazmul Haque Bappy believes that the nature always lays a hand on his emotion. Apart from rooted tree, women, cactus etc. we also find realistic themes like Banglar Baul, Shadarghat, nature in his paintings again and again. He tries to create a new stream by breaking the connection of forms in oriental art. He believes that when an artist creates any painting with the combination of honesty, determination and internal feelings only then it becomes artistic.

J’Aime pas les fumeurs by Charb Charb applies double zero tolerance to smokers. They are now banned from offices and public places. It does nothing to temper his enthusiasm; he is considering more radical solutions: their deportation into the sewers, maybe even an ultimate seclusion on the edge of civilization. In the skin of an ayatollah of anti-fag, Charb has no shortage of ideas.

J’Aime pas la retraite by Patrick Pelloux et Charb We are for retirement, but it does not matter how rusty it may be. Yet now, seniority no longer pays. Financially, it's a big leap backwards: when one was worse and what we will never be: young and beautiful. As retirement will not mean to live well, we will fight! And until death ensues if needed: better to leave with our heads high as the front feet.

J’Aime pas l’école by RissRiss rises against conventional wisdom, he pins the school and its different actors, stressed parents, old-fashioned teacher and break-out students. But the most current issues are not forgotten: violence in schools, the legacy of May 68, the inevitable school board or the wearing of veils in class.
J’Aime pas le téléphone portable by Lefred-Thouron et Yan LindingreYes, the mobile phone has revolutionized our lives, but mostly for worse! To contribute to the magic of mobile: its compulsive use with the added bonus that it induces paranoia and, of course, terror effects of electromagnetic waves on the brain...
J’Aime pas les gens qui se prennent pour… by Florence CestacThey meet every day at work, close to home, among friends, at home and in the family. The teenagers who is better or worse about themselves, the concierge makes zeal, the fashion victim who is mistaken for a supermodel...

Journey to the Centre of the Earth by Jules VerneThe first of Jules Verne’s books to explore fascinating speculative concepts. This famous story about Professor Lidenbrook and his companions’ expedition down an extinct volcano has been enjoyed for well over a hundred years.
Le Voyage d’hiver by Amelie NothombA very surprising and an original novel, stating a Western culture which, despite all its apparent material, wealth mostly failed to give a man of his life worthy of the name.
L’Échappée belle by Anna GavaldaSimon, Garance and Lola, three brothers and sisters have grown up. Fled to a family wedding that promises to be particularly challenging to join Vincent, the youngest, became a seasonal guide to the castle situated deep in the Touraine countryside.
The Attack by Yasmina KhadraTel Aviv. A suicide bomber has killed 19 in a packed city centre restaurant. Dr. Amin Jaffie, an Israeli Arab, is a surgeon at a nearby hospital. LES CHANSONS D'AMOUR (2007) de Christophe HonoréA musical interpretation of three lovers living in Paris. Julie's boyfriend Ismaël lives with her; rather than worry about the time he spends with his colleague Alice, Julie invites Alice to join them. The three walk the streets of Paris, party, read, and sleep together. GAINSBOURG (VIE HÉROÏQUE) (2010) de Joann SfarA glimpse at the life of French singer Serge Gainsbourg, from growing up in the 1940s Nazi-occupied Paris through his successful song-writing years in the 1960s to his death in 1991 at the age of 62. The film is based on the eponymous graphic novel by director Joann Sfar. Gainsbourg’s daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg was supposed to act in the role of her father, but after rehearsing for a few months, she left because it was ‘too emotional and engaging’ for her.
