AIESEC International
AIESEC, the world’s largest student-run, not-for-profit organization, is the
international platform for young people to discover and develop their potential
to have a positive impact on society.
With a focus on building personal networks and exploring the direction and
ambition of their future, AIESEC has an innovative approach to engaging and
developing young people into the leaders needed today and tomorrow.
A connection to the world
AIESEC was founded in 1948 and is today active in 107 countries at 1700 universities
with 38.000 members, offering each year over 8.800 internships and 7.500
leadership opportunities.
AIESEC members interact with industry, government, NGOs, universities, students
and interns from all over the world. This allows members to be some of the most
connected young citizens.
The AIESEC Difference
The key difference between AIESEC members and other students is the skills they
develop through enterprise learning while managing the AIESEC program. AIESEC
members are global minded, proactive and responsible young people. They are
voluntarily engaged into social relevant issues beyond their studies.
By developing cultural understanding, knowledge, attitudes and skills in students,
AIESEC is a positive force for global development. As a result AIESEC has
consultative status at the United Nations to represent youth.
AIESEC in Austria
In 1953, as one of the first international youth organizations, AIESEC was founded in
Austria. Today AIESEC is present in Graz, Innsbruck, Linz, Salzburg and Vienna.
In each of those cities the organization is actively engaging young people
at 12 different universities.

AIESEC SalzburgAIESEC & the University of Salzburg
AIESEC Salzburg is part of the word’s largest youth-run organisation. As
one of the youngest entities of the AIESEC family in Austria we are follow-
ing the rule of being progressive, innovative and open-minded. We value
people that have different opinions and that are striving for innovation. We
embrace an atmosphere of creativity, tolerance and open-mindedness.
Social Impact
AIESEC Salzburg aims to provide a much wider focus on Social Impact
through our teams and also gives the opprotunity to gain skills in communi-
cation, strategies, and management with our corporate and non-corporate
through our functional areas.
This way we can not only organize internships within Austria for students
abroad, but also give students from the University of Salzburg the chance
to explore a new culture and country through choosing a suitable internship
from our global pool.
EB | Executive Board
Composed of the Local Committee President (LCP) and seven (currently four) Vice
Presidents (VPs) for the functional areas, the EB is responsible for the operative
planning, development and management of AIESEC Salzburg. It is being elected
within the scope of a yearly local conference and the term lasts one year, from 1st
of April to the 31st of March.
Each functional area complies several teams, each with a leader who is being guid-
ed, tracked, and kept busy by the respective Vice President. On the other hand,
the Local Committee President is the head of the Executive Board and the main
responsible for AIESEC University of Salzburg.
Functional AreasAIESEC Salzburg is an entirely student-run organisation consisting of
various teams which operate in seven areas on a local level. Below,
you will find a short introduction of the current teams and their aims in
the organisation.
ICX| Incoming Exchange
The job of the ICX Teams is to provide internships for students that want to come to
Salzburg and develop their skills in one of the best firms in the country. Furthermore
the Incoming Exchange Team is in charge for AIESEC´s interactions with NGO´s,
social enterprises and trainees.
The ICX department is not only establishing connections among NGO´s and com-
panies that are pursuing a sustainable approach but it also maintains the coopera-
tion in order to provide internships to its members.
The ICX department fulfils diverse tasks like supporting companies in the re-
cruitment process and by organizing all issues incorporated with interns. Hence,
AIESEC´s professional approach of handling personnel themes leads to a win-win
situation among AIESEC and its partners.
Therefore, it can be said that on the one hand, trainees have the unique opportunity
to apply their acquired knowledge in the real business life. On the other hand, com-
panies can gain considerable advantages from AIESEC interns, who are much
more than regular students, especially due to their language skills, multinational ap-
proach and their world view regarding many aspects.
As a consequence companies appreciate AIESEC trainees and at the same time
AIESEC can foster its robust brand awareness as a versatile as well as consistent
global talent pool.
OGX GIP | Outgoing Exchange
The members of the Outgoing Exchange Team are responsible for selecting, pre-
paring and re-integrating Austrian students who want to go on Exchange and do
an internship through AIESEC. The OGX Teams work closely with an international
network of more than 100 countries including our 7 focus regions.
Promoting exchange and organizing events like Matching Competitions or Ex-
changeDinners are part of their activities. Furthermore, OGX is responsible for conducting
pool researches and facilitating the internship matching process.
Other tasks are: promoting the GIP at different universities and colleges, organizing
the assesment centers for the Exchange Participants (EPs), as well as the prepara-
tion and follow-up seminars and coming up with new projects and ideas for the fit-
ting Exchange Participants.
COMM | Communication
The two Communication Teams (Marketing and PR&Design) are responsible
for internal and external communication matters. The main focus is to increase
awareness of AIESEC among Salzburg students, corporate partners and other
stakeholder groups.Consequently, the PR & Design team is concerned with building up cooperations
with media-partners and publishing several press releases, as well as organizing
several branding events. Additionally, they design materials (poster, flyer, book-
lets, videos, etc.) for the marketing team and other functional areas.
The marketing team is responsible for creating 2 innovative campaignes - one
for OGX in summer and one for the TMP Program in winter and is working closely
with the PR & Design team.
TM | Talent Management
The task of the Talent Management Team is to help people develop on a personal
and professional level by creating different learning environments that offer our
members the opportunity for a Conscious Learning. In order to achieve that, per-
sonal coaching meetings and trainings are organised.
TM members aim to develop an understanding for Human Resource Manage-
ment (training development, organizational behavior), gain coaching and com-
munication skills, coach people in their development and get coached in your own
learning.Furthermore, TM is responsible for the management of the LC as an organisation,
which includes strategic planning of the LC future as well as managing the mem-
bership base.
F&L | Finance & LawThe members of the Finance & Law team are mainly responsible for supporting
the Vice President of this area regarding the budget processes and building a
functional structure. Furthermore, they participate in the creation of a set of objec-
tives, including the vision, principles and way of working. Finance keeps a thor-
ough record of all the resources and informs the Executive Board on their situation
when needed. The Team is constantly trying to keep the organization financially sustainable by
applying practical and theoretical knowledge, controlling the budget and the real-
ized budget together with the Vice President of Finance, and gaining a good and
solid base over the financial situation of the organization.
