Gifts that Change lives 2017-2018
The 2017 missions focus for Advent supports the Methodist
Children’s Home goal to upgrade its residential facilities.
Give a gift, make a difference.
One life at a time, all year long.

Wise gifts for God’s World
Thank you for your interest in this Gift’s that Change Lives
Catalog. As we prepare our hearts and minds to celebrate
Christ’s birth, I pray we reclaim the Advent theme of Hope,
Joy, Peace, and Love by sharing God’s blessings to those in
our community whose lives have been so disrupted by this
year’s destructive flooding.
Harvey Relief is one of the 24 ministries represented within
these pages that can bring the healing touch of Jesus to
many in our own neighborhoods. Your gifts to our Harvey
Relief Fund will expand the continuing recovery that’s al-
ready been accomplished by the generosity of others.
Along with Harvey Relief, our Advent focus supporting new
dormitory construction at the Methodist Children’s Home,
gives us an opportunity to name one of the newly built
rooms and leave a legacy of love and peace for children
burdened by poverty and neglect.
Praise be to God for generous gifts that definitely will
change lives!
Love and Blessings,
Cathy

Here’s how it works:
Step 1. Read the catalog carefully and select gifts you
would like to give in the name of family, friends, and col-
leagues. Our catalog offers a wide selection of gifts so you
and each member of your family can find the right gift for
each person for any occasion, not just Christmas. You may,
of course, purchase gifts in your own name.
Step 2. Fill out the payment card. You may pay by cash or
by check payable to Kingwood United Methodist Church
and put Gifts that Change Lives or refer to the Index
of Missions beginning on page 16 for a suggested
Memo reference.
Step 3. Use the gift cards and ministry inserts to give or mail
to the persons in whose name you have purchased gift
items. Keep a record of your gifts on page 18 and 19 of this
catalog.
Note: Keep and refer to this catalog throughout 2018. It will
also be available on Kingwoodumc.org for reference and
giving.
