ITF GOALSThe ITF shall work with national authorities and in partnership with donors, NGOs, the private sector, international and regional organisations and others Goal 1. to reduce the humanitarian and socio-economic threats from landmines and ERW.

Goal 2. to reduce the threats to human security from post-conflict challenges other than landmines and ERW, and to support conventional weapons destruction programmes.

Goal 3. to reduce the threats to human security from disruptive challanges.

ITF vision is a world free of the threat from post-conflict challenges, including landmines, explosive remnants of war (ERW) and the illicit ownership and use of SALW, and where the security of individuals and communities is assured.

• ITF is contributing to increased human security  through realizing joint strategies of protection – crafting institutions that protect and advance human security – and empowerment – enabling people to act on their own behalf thus reducing threats from disruptive challenges.

• ITF is dedicated to promoting human rights and active citizenship, social inclusion, health and well - being of vulnerable groups (disabled, children, and women), building of community resilience, and armed violence reduction and prevention projects.

• In our approach we promote supportive national and regional programmes that enhance individual, community and national capacities and thereby ensure the sustainability of actions taken today and into the future.

EGYPT• Two trainings for 5-person multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams from Egypt implemented in Slovenia, by URI Soca• Rehabilitation of four patients from Egypt implemented in Slovenia, by URI Soca. Children were accompanied by two physiotherapists who arrived for on-the-job training.

GAZA STRIP• Initiative of Slovenian President Dr Danilo Türk • ITF has set up a list of prosthetic and orthotic material which was delivered to Artificial Limb and Polio Center in 2011• Integral rehabilitation treatment for 100 children and training for 18 local physiotherapists, by URI Soca in Slovenia• MoU signed with Palestinian Mine Action Center in December 2012• Since 2013, ITF is implementing project “Training of cardiac

Palestinian Rehabilitation Unit Personnel” with the support of Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s Development Cooperation.

LIBYA• Psychosocial rehabilitation of 7 Libyan children in Rogla, Slovenia

on the initiative of Slovenian Embassy in Egypt and Slovenian President Dr Danilo Türk

• URI Soca and ITF conducted a rapid needs assessment of rehabilitation capacities in Benghazi and Tripoli

• URI Soca and ITF conducted triage of 48 Libyan patients in Tunis and Sfax in November 2011in order to identify potential treatment options for them.

• In beginning of March 2012, 25 Libyan amputees successfully finished rehabilitation and were fitted with top quality prosthesis

• In 2013 ITF is continuing with its commitment to help enhance rehabilitation capacities in Libya through implementation of project« Training of rehabilitation experts in Libya«

CAPE VERDE• Implementation of Integrated Telemedicine and e-health

Program for Cape Verde since 2012 in cooperation with IVeH• Focus on establishing Telemedicine network in Cape Verde by:

- providing telemedicine/e-health equipment to selected hospitals in all 9 inhabited islands;- training personnel that will operate and maintain the network;- establishing platform for continuous medical education and -ensuring network`s integration into countries healthcare system and its sustainability.•The Telemedicine program is anticipated to increase quality, accessibility and efficacy of healthcare services provided in Cape Verde and ultimately to improve treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction
