Soprano Isabelle Lacroix completed her graduate studies in voice performance at the University of Ottawa with Ingemar Korjus. She has also studied with Daniel Taylor, Lorna MacDonald and Christiane Riel. She has performed numerous sacred and oratorio roles, including Handel's Messiah, Bruckner’s Mass in F Minor, Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang, Bach’s Cantata BWV 140, Mozart’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Brahms’ German Requiem, among others. Equally suited to opera, Isabelle has performed the roles of Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and Zerlina in Don Giovanni with the University of Ottawa’s Opera Workshop; as a member of Opera Lyra’s Young Artist Program, she

performed the role of Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, the title role in Rossini’s Cinderella, and the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Magic Flute. She has also performed the role of Annina in La Traviata, Ines in Il Trovatore and Frasquita in Carmen with Opera Lyra Ottawa. Isabelle has participated in festivals including the Festival d’automne d’orgue et de couleurs in Montréal, Les Concerts Ponticello, the Festival Pontiac Enchanté and the Under the Pines Festival, as well as for Southminter’s DOFMS series. She also enjoys teaching voice and playing violin, and is currently a member of the Nepean Seventh-day Adventist Church Choir and Orchestra. Canto Sentimento Strings founding member Jolani Domit-rovits holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music Performance from the University of Ottawa, where she studied with violist Rennie Regehr. In 2014–2015, she attended the Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto, studying with Steven Dann and obtaining an Artist Diploma in Performance. Jolani has appeared with the Ottawa and University of Ottawa Symphony Orchestras, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, the Orchestre francophonie du Canada, and the Royal Conservatory Orchestra in Toronto.

Olivier Michel Philippe-Auguste holds a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from the University of Ottawa, where he studied under the direction of violist Rennie Regehr. He is a mem-ber of the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, and has played with many other ensembles, including the Kingston and Gatineau Symphony Orchestras. He teaches violin and viola, and performs as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the Ottawa region and beyond.

Teacher and classical violinist Adam Nelson began violin studies at the age of five. After finishing his undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University and his Master’s in Violin Performance at the University of Ottawa, he settled with his wife in the Barrhaven area. In addition to performing with major ensembles, including the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Nelson runs a private teaching studio, with many of his students winning top honours at major Canadian music festivals. He is also a member of Canto Sentimento Strings.

Originally from the United States, violinist Noah Waters holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from the University of Michigan and a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Ottawa. His concert activities range from solo and chamber music to contemporary music and orchestral work. Noah studied with Yehonatan Berick and Solomia Soroka. He teaches at Alcorn Music Studios and Dominic’s Music Academy in Ottawa, and belongs to both Canto Sentimento Strings and the Amico Piano Quartet.

Philadelphia native Hillary Fay began playing violin at age four and viola at age fifteen. She has performed with ensembles including the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and the Vancouver and Ottawa Symphony Orchestras. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from McGill University, where she studied with Andre Roy, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Ottawa, where she studied with Rennie Regehr. In 2009, Hillary was appointed violist with the Canadian Armed Forces String Ensemble and since then has made Ottawa her home.

Kathryn Cobbler has been performing as a violist since 2009. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Western Ontario and a Master’s Degree from the University of Ottawa, where she studied with Rennie Regehr. Kathryn has appeared in the Toronto Symphony’s performance with the TransSiberian Orches-tra, and in a string orchestra for vocal ensemble Il Divo, as well as in the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra and in Western University’s Weldon Library Chamber Music Series. Along with Noah Waters, she plays in the Amico Piano Quartet. A strong believer in music’s therapeutic qualities, Kathryn works with residents living with dementia at the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre.

Cellist Gabriela Ruiz, another member of Canto Senti-mento Strings, moved from Mexico to Canada in 2010 to pursue advanced studies in the cello. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Cello Performance and a postgraduate diploma in Orchestral Music from the University of Ottawa, studying under Paul Marleyn. She is an active member of the Ottawa musical community, having participated in over forty programs in the last four years and teaching prolific-ally throughout the region. Adept in a wide array of musical styles, Gabriela is as at ease playing baroque continuo as she is premiering contemporary works by her colleagues.

Malcolm Armstrong began playing double bass in Grade 7. He played with the Ottawa Junior Youth Orchestra and the Ottawa Youth Orchestra while attending Lisgar Collegiate Institute. Following this formative high school experience, he went on to pursue advanced music studies at the University of Ottawa. Malcolm has been a member of the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra since 2011, and, in 2012, he performed the Bottesini Concerto in B minor as guest soloist with the Parkdale United Church Orchestra.

Roland Graham is an accomplished pianist, organist, conductor, composer and impresario. He is the Director of Music at Southminster United Church in Ottawa, and Artistic Director of both the popular Doors Open For Music at Southminster weekly series and the Master Piano Recital Series (www.MPRS.ca). Roland also conducts the Rideau Chorale, a community choir with an emphasis on developing amateur musicianship that recently gave a sold out performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. The recipient of many awards and distinctions, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of Ottawa where he studied with Jean Desmarais, and a Master’s from the Universite de Montreal, where he studied with Jimmy Briere and Marc Durand.
