Lataguri, small town in Dooars, is located outside the Gorumara National Park on National Highway No. 31. Permits for entering Gorumara and Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary on National Highway
No. 31 are given from Lataguri. Derived from the word 'doors' (doors to Bhutan), this region also forms a gateway to the hill stations of North Bengal, Sikkim, Bhutan & the North Eastern states.
There are several forest Dept. watch Towers in the forest which are open for the tourists in two sessions: morning and evening. Tourist can have a glimpse of wide ranging animals like, Elephants, Bisons, Rhinos, Leopards, Snakes, and Deers. The points are namely:

Odlabari Dam: is a beautiful place with big dam on river Teesta with full Himalayan range at the view point. Kunjanagar Tiger Reserve at Falakata: Chilapata Range is also not far from Jaldapara National Park & Buxa Tiger Reserve is also within (80-100 Km).
