The Greener Group is proud to install domestic solar PV in the Chester area.

This 4kW system uses 16 x 250 watt fully black Phono Solar panels linked up to the highly efficient SolarEdge 3680 inverter. Also included were 16 Power Optimisers which fit behind each panel to regulate the voltage and reduce the effect of shading from the building’s chimney. The panels themselves are backed up by a 25 year warranty from the manufacturer ensuring complete peace of mind for our customer.

A total generation meter was installed next to the electrical consumer unit, which the array connects to, so our customer can see exactly how much energy is being produced. This also allows the customer to benefit from the lucrative Feed-in Tariff (FiT). Not only that, the SolarEdge 3680 inverter can connect to the internet allowing for our customer and The Greener Group to monitor energy production and advise on ways to increase performance.

The system has a payback period of a mere 8 years, meaning that it will continue to generate an income from the FiT for 12 years. The FiT rates follow the rate of inflation, meaning you'll get even more money back over time.

An eco-home in Anglesey becomes even more efficient thanks to Solar PV.

Our client has designed and built their own home, with energy efficiency a top priority that influenced every aspect of construction. This design philosophy has seen the building receiving an 'A' rating for energy efficiency. The building already has triple glazing, extensive insulation, a biomass boiler and solar thermal water heating. Solar PV was seen as the next logical step in making the house as environmentally friendly as possible.

The Solar PV system is comprised of 16 x 250W BenQ modules connected to an ABB PVI-3.6 inverter, with 10 panels installed in a traditional on-roof configuration with the remaining 6 utilising a ground-mount system. Inverters allow Solar PV systems to benefit from the Feed-in Tariff, this sees the installers of micro-generation technologies being rewarded for every kWh of energy generated.

The Feed-in Tariff is guaranteed for 20 years, meaning the installation will continue to generate a profit long after it has paid for itself.

This system has a payback period of 14.5 years, meaning the installation will be in profit from the Domestic Feed-in Tariff for 5.5 years. Also remember that as electricity prices rise, the savings produced will be greater and greater. After 20 years the system will have generated a profit of £5,054.

Solar Electric Roof Slates allow you to install PV directly into the roof.

When our customer needed to undertake some re-tiling of their roof, they decided this would be a good opportunity to install Solar PV in an integral form for their house, rather than installing Solar PV panels. They had already heard of Solar Slates and opted to trust the Greener Group with the installation because of our commitment to investing in the latest technologies, coupled with our hard-won reputation for quality.

This new 4kW solar PV system from Solarcentury will take the place of several traditional slate tiles on the roof, and will also negate the need to install a conventional Solar PV panel installation as well. The installation comprises 80 x 50W C21e Solar Electric Roof Slates and an UNO 3.6 inverter. The slates are backed-up with a 25 year power warranty from the manufacturer, ensuring complete peace of mind for our customer.

Fields Farm Cottage double-up with a new Solar PV array and Biomass Boiler

Fields Farm Cottage in Nantwich, Cheshire wanted to reduce their energy and heating costs whilst also creating a greener, more efficient home to live in.

The Solar PV system is comprised of 15 x 265W SolarWorld modules connected to a SMA 3600TL inverter. The inverter allows the system to benefit from the Feed-in Tariff (FiT), this sees installers of micro-generation technologies being rewarded for every kWh of energy generated. The FiT is guaranteed for 20 years, meaning the installation will continue to generate a profit long after it has paid for itself.

The Biomass system installed was a Froling 45kW Pellet Boiler. By using pellets our customer is able to choose exactly where their fuel comes from or even create pellets themselves. The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a new scheme similar to the FiT that sees installers of renewable heating systems rewarded for the heat energy generated.
