Does Jesus Live at your House?

Christ, Unseen Guest

A small plaque that hung in

My Mom and Dad’s House

Luke 10:38-42 "Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a

certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

"And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

"But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

"And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

"But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."—Luke 10:38–42.

+I Remember

In our home, in the dining room, a Plaque hung on the wall near the dining room table. It read: Christ, Our Unseen Guest! As a child, I often looked at that plaque and knew that He was indeed living with us!

~ Galatians 2:20

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

4 Things that proves Christ dwellsat your house!

1. There will be a deep reverence for God!

Husband loving wife. Eph. 5:25 Wife loving husband. Titus 2:4 Children obeying. Eph. 6:1 Christ—The Unseen Guest!!

God give us Christian Homes!!

2. There will be an emphasis on spiritual things. The church will be sought first. Jesus died for the church. Acts 20:28 Matt. 6:33 Acts 8:12 When they believed Philip Preaching the things concerning the

Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ

People worshipping God! John 4:23,24 Heb. 10:25 Psalms 122:1

3. There will be love and peace. All of us need to feel loved. All of us seek for peace. We want a Peaceful home to live in… Division, disunity, no harmony…freightened children Wives depressed, husbands don’t care! Do we yell at each and hurt each other’s feelings! Do we gossip, tattle, and run down everybody that Is trying to live a Christian life. Phil. 1:27

God doesn’t live in a house like that! God is a God of love, peace, and kindness.

4. A disciplined life.. All of us have to seek to control ourselves..we

must be living a life that will give up, quit doing those things that are sinful and wrong. God dwells with us when we dwell In His Word. Col. 3:16 Paul—I Cor. 9:27 I buffet my body.. And bring it into subjection….

Does Jesus Christ live at your house?

He lives within you…in your car, at your Business, sees your deeds, witnesses Your motivation, your desires, and all That you do in your life. He is a friend…to help He is a Saviour..to provide forgiveness He is a 24/7 companion…Gal. 2:20

That’s why a Christian can face death.. because he has lived in Christ.

Rev. 14:13 die in the Lord. You can’t Die in the Lord, if you don’t live in the Lord!

Does Jesus Christ dwell at your house? You know, He knows and I suspect a lot Of others know… (unless you live a hypocritical life! A Pretender!. )

There is nothing that is so bad as being Alone…and there is nothing to compare To have a friend like Jesus.

Psalms 84:4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house:

they will be still praising thee. Selah.

Psalms 26:8 LORD, I love the house where you live, the

place where your glory dwells

Psalms 65:4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest,

and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

#1 Homes where Christ once wasliving, but he doesn’t now Homes where Christ use to dwell…and He is not there anymore… The family has quit the Lord! The family has turned to the world for their

entertainment, enjoyment, and their pleasures. I John 2:15-17

2 Tim. 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world.

Where He once dwelt, but no longer there.. Yes, there are some homes that were once Christian, but

they are no more. Certain things took place, and now the presence of Jesus is no longer felt in the home.

In some cases the making of money became paramount, and allegiance to Christ was forgotten.

In other cases, the pursuit of pleasure began to take first place, and the home disintegrated. Yes, many homes were once beautiful and happy through the presence of Christ, but not

today.

# 2 .Some homes where He has never dwelt

Again, there are some homes that have never known what it means to be Christian. They have never honored Christ; they have never obeyed Him. Heb. 5:8,9

#3 Yes, He definitely lives here! Christ, our unseen guest!

Poem: Does Jesus live at your house? "Does Jesus live at your house?"

I heard a child once ask: Her little brow was furrowed As she struggled with a task. I saw her eyes were shadowed, Her face marked with a tear; The voice a wee bit wistful For the answer she might hear. "He used to live at our house, With Mamma—Daddy, too. But now He’s gone away somewhere. I don’t know what to do;

For Daddy’s not the same today, And Mamma laughs no more. They never bother much with me; They say I’m just a bore. "It didn’t used to be this way With Jesus in our home, For every night my daddy came, When all my curls were combed, To help me say my bedtime prayer (And Mamma helped me, too); And they’d smile and tuck me in, But now—they never do. "Could you tell me where Jesus is, For everything seems black?

We want Him in our house again; We want Him to come back. And when He comes we’ll keep Him, For we truly need Him so— If Jesus lives at your house, Oh, don’t ever let Him go!" The child then turned and left me While I pursued my way And thought of many home fires That could be bright today. Does Jesus live at your house? How much these words portend. Yea! On this question’s answer Our hopes—our all—depend.

Does Jesus live at your house? Answer the question today, "Does Jesus

live at your house?" If He has never entered, then let Him in today. If He was once there, then open wide the door again, and bid Him enter. Does Jesus live in your heart? If not, obey Him…Let Him In!
