The Board Basics Workshop is a three hour introductory workshop for Board Members and
CEOs. The program includes;
• Identify what Boards are and how they operate
• Clarify the role of the Board
• Find out how Boards manage:
o Strategic direction
o Policy
o Finances
o Accountability
o Employment of the CEO
A Board is a team of ordinary people who can do extraordinary things: Focus on what you
and others bring to your Board;
• Credentials, skills and knowledge of Board members
• Duties of Board members
• What Board members gain from serving an organisation
• Succession planning
