CD INTRODUCTION

LLJ This Bibliography lists works associated with two Rand

projects: Automation and Technological Change, and a re-

lated informal study of Dature national and international

problems.

The current listing of approximately 800 entries in-

cludes materials assembled by members of the project, to-

gether with some 400 additional entries published after 1967,

selected largely from the Library of Congress card catalog.

A word of explanation may be in order w.' respect to

the imprint dates found in several entries in this Biblio-

graphy. In the absence of specific information in the book

on the date of publication or copyright date, it is desira-

ble and necessary to indicate the closest probable date of

publication from evidence found in the book itself (text or

bibliography) or from available reference sources. Hence,

a date followed by a question mark (i.e., 1969?) indicates

a probable date of publication. In some instances, the book

and reference sources fail to provide a probable date, so a

probable decade of publication is indicated instead with a

dash and a question mark (i,e., 196-?).

This Bibliography will be updated periodically.

The Appendix lists organizations engaged in future-

oriented work.
