POST DOCTORAL PROJECTS ITALY/ AUSTRALIA (2013-2015) POSTMODERN IN TRANSLATION This project which began as a symposium that aimed to cast light on the international influences on Australian architecture and urbanism of the late 20th century. In particular, it focussed on the exchanges between Italian and Australian architecture, through the analysis of buildings, projects and competition entries and the investigation of theoretical production in Italy or linked to Italian architectural culture. The project challenged the idea of a unique understanding of postmodern architecture in Australia architecture, with the symposium striving to show how different responses emerged from the idiosyncratic architectural dialogue between Italy and Australia. In addition, from this symposium a forthcoming book is due for release in late 2017. Outcomes and Related Publications: Forthcoming A forthcoming book featuring a series of papers surrounding the issues covered throughout the symposium is set to be published in late 2017. The book is set to be published by URO Melbourne and titled, Italy/Australia: Postmodernism in Translation.
