RK University is a leading University o�ering variety of courses ranging from Diploma stud-ies to Doctorate research. RK University, formerly the RK group of Colleges, has made a con-stant endeavour to provide quality education and a platform for overall development to its students.

Ph.D. Program StructureConventionally the duration of the doctorate program is between 3-4 years. The program comprises both coursework and research work. The amount of coursework one has to undergo depends on the candidates' past background and the research he/she is engaged in. The research work to be undertaken for Ph.D. must include original contribution to the knowledge reserve culminating in a thesis to be submitted for the doctoral degree.

For each scholar a Doctoral Research Committee shall be appointed which shall guide the research scholar in all matters of the Ph.D. program including prescribing of coursework.

EligibilityCandidates must have a post-graduate (master’s) degree with at least 55% marks or equiva-lent CGPA and must be quali�ed in GATE/GPAT/UGC-JRF/NET/SLET or equivalent examina-tions of similar level or RKU Research Aptitude Test (RAT).

Selection will be on the basis of interview of shortlisted candidates.

However, for the Faculty of Technology, a First Class Bachelor’s degree in concerned �eld and work experience of 2 years in R&D in a recognised research organization or institute will also be considered eligible.

Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance of Rs. 12,000/- per month shall be provided to full-time scholars subject to RKU regulations.The responsibilities associated with the �nancial assistantship include conducting labora-tory courses and tutorials for undergraduate students, assisting in teaching, academic administration, forming research proposals, etc.

Selection ProcessThe candidate must be quali�ed in GATE/GPAT/UGC-JRF/NET/SLET or equivalent examina-tions of similar.Candidates, who have not appeared in any other tests, shall have to appear for RKU Research Aptitude Test (RAT). Candidates will be selected through the entrance test, followed by an interview. The entrance test will be used to shortlist the candidates to be interviewed.

The Entrance Test will be conducted at RKU Campus on the noti�ed date. The interview of the short-listed candidates will be taken after the entrance test.

Travel

Rajkot

Rajkot is well connected to all major cities of India. All forms of transport are well developed.

Daily multiple �ights to Mumbai are served by Indian Airlines and Jet Airways. Intermittent services to Ahmedabad and hopping service to Bhavnagar on the way to Mumbai have been undertaken periodically.International Airport in Ahmedabad is 216 km away.

By RoadThe Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) and major private operators run regu-lar buses to and fro from Rajkot to other cities of Gujarat.Rajkot is very well connected with Gujarat State Highways, National Highway 8 and East-West Corridor.There are a number of private bus operators connecting Rajkot with major citites of Mahar-ashtra, Rajasthan, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and other states of India.

By TrainRajkot Railway Station is the main railway junction of Saurashtra region. Trains for the all major cities of India including Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chennai etc. are available from here

To Reach RKU CampusThe University operates a �eet of buses from all major areas of Rajkot City for students to reach the campus.GSRTC buses are also available.
