Boundary extensions to the Maroondah PIZ Industry Notice 14 July 2017 The Maroondah Phylloxera Infested Zone (PIZ) boundary has been extended, following confirmation of new phylloxera detections. BOUNDARY EXTENSION The PIZ boundary has been extended in an easterly, southerly and westerly direction. The eastern boundary extension will include a larger portion of the township of Healesville. The southerly extension will include the urban area of Mount Evelyn. The western extension will include a larger area of Coldstream West and Christmas Hills (refer map overleaf). PHYLLOXERA HOST MATERIAL MOVEMENT CONDITIONS Prior to movement of phylloxera host material out a PIZ, a business must first apply for a permit from Agriculture Victoria (AV). Whole wine grapes Consignment accompanied by a copy of the permit and may only be sent to another business in an existing Victorian PIZ and be: packed in bins cleaned free of soil and plant material before delivery; and loaded into transport vehicles on a hard surface (not within the vineyard); and bins are not filled within 200mm of the top; and bins are securely covered; and transported via an approved route; and having an emergency response plan approved by an inspector, for handling spillages. Must and unfiltered juice Consignment accompanied by a copy of the permit and be: in the case of whole must, be prepared from de- stemmed crushed grapes; and in the case of juice, be prepared crushed grapes; and consigned in sealed tankers or containers, cleaned free of soil and organic matter; and transported via an approved route; and operate under an emergency response plan approved by an inspector, for handling spillages. FOR MOVEMENT TO A PHYLLOXERA RISK ZONE (PRZ) OR PHYLLOXERA EXCLUSION ZONE (PEZ) Prior to movement of phylloxera host material out a PIZ, a business must first apply for a permit from Agriculture Victoria (AV). Must and unfiltered juice Consignor requirements: as per PIZ conditions; or operate under an ICA-22 accreditation. Consignee requirements: the business must be accredited under ICA-22; or the business is approved by AV to receive of must or juice including: o a dedicated unloading area and no-entry areas; o signage indicating dedicated roadways; o waste disposal and spill control procedures. Marc Consignment accompanied by a copy of the permit; and have undergone fermentation for at least four days; or have been composted for at least 3 months: o at least 500 m from grapevines; or o located in a secure, segregated location; and be consigned in sealed tankers or containers, cleaned free of soil and organic matter. Cuttings, rootlings, potted vines and soil Movement of cuttings, rootlings, potted vines and soil out of the PIZ is prohibited. Soil may be moved in small quantities for diagnostic or research purposes (refer to conditions for diagnostic samples). Diagnostic samples and germplasm Movement of diagnostic samples and germplasm may occur under conditions stipulated in a permit issued by AV. Agricultural equipment, bins and packagesThe consignment must be certified as being:

thoroughly cleaned with a steam cleaner or with high pressure hot water to remove all soil and plant debris; and

disinfested by:o steam applied at a temperature above 100°C, as

measured at the steam outlet; oro immersion in hot water (>70°C) for at least 2 minutes at

temperature, or o placing in a hot room at a temperature of 45°C for at least

75 minutes or at a temperature of 40°C for at least 120 minutes.
