Project Description: Existing failed mattresses above a pipeline will be removed from the streambed and will be replaced with new concrete revetment mattresses. The area will be dewatered and the existing mats and rock will be removed. The site will then be graded. A geotextile material will be placed atop the grade, followed by the installation of the Submar mats. The mats will extend across the channel from the right-descending high bank to the left-descending high bank. The flank edges of the mat system will toe in to 3' deep excavated anchor trenches that will be backfilled with existing material or rock. Downstream of the mat system, a 3' deep by 15' long subgrade rock grade control will be installed to prevent headcutting from progressing upstream, and rock sized 12" to 18" in diameter will be placed on the banks to prevent further lateral migration. Upon completion of the final grading, seed and erosion control blanket will be placed on the disturbed areas of the site. The new culvert will have an upstream and downstream invert of 757.1 O', NAVD and 756.97', NAVD respectively. The inlet end of the culvert will be beveled. The culvert and headwalls will be skewed 30 degrees to align with streamflow. Minor channel shaping will occur both downstream and upstream of the new culvert to improve the flow transition at the crossing. The shaping will be confined to the construction right-of-way. The reshaped areas will be stabilized with a layer of rip-rap. The roadway will be elevated approximately 0.6' above the existing road elevations. The crown of the roadway over the new culvert will be at 767.40', NAVD. Guardrails will be placed along each side of the roadway over the channel. The excavated material will be transported to an upland containment area for dewatering and dry out. The excavated material from the lake and canal once dried will be distributed across property evenly to a level of 805.5' or more. Water from the containment area will not be allowed to return to the lake. In addition, an existing glacial stone seawall will be refaced with glacial stone along 65' of the shoreline. The refacing will consist of 7" to 20" stones which will be stacked on the existing wall for improved stability. The refacing will have a maximum thickness of 24" and will be sloped on the lake side.
