FOREWORD

As part of its global quality assurance policy, Amulya Research Centre

(ARC), initiated DNA fingerprinting of the herbs commonly being used

in its formulations, in 2019. The work was initiated in collaboration

with Department Of Biotechnology, DAV College, Sector 10,

Chandigarh (India) and completed over a period of nearly one year. The

present work is an attempt to share the outcome of the research work,

for the benefits of consumers as well as other industries.

COLLABORATOR’S MESSAGE

DNA fingerprinting of the herbs commonly being used by Amulya Herbs

Pvt. Limited, Panchkula, was initiated in collaboration with Department

Of Biotechnology, DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh (India) as part

of Research Collaboration (PROJECT NO. davbiotech/consult

1/Amulya/27.5.2019). DNA samples were subjected to DNA

fingerprinting using the Microsatellite or Short Tandem Repeats (STRs).

Microsatellite fingerprinting using two set of primers PMS1 (GTG)5 and

PMS2 (GACA)4 were carried out separately.

DNA fingerprinting of other herbs is also being carried out.
