BETWEEN US LIONSSVDG Ken Shahan

Hello, fellow Lions of District 29-I! Do you know all the membershipopportunities there are to get new members?

This month we will be talking about the different types of membership andhow they can receive discounts on their entrance fee or International dues.Every club needs members in order to achieve its service goals. To help

clubs recruit new members, LCI offers several membership options to community members who wantto volunteer and serve their community as “Lions.”

Regular Member: This is our standard membership. Regular membership is for community membersinterested in volunteering, serving the community and making our world a better place.

Family Member: The Family Membership Program provides families with the opportunity to receivespecial reduced dues when they join the club together. The first family member pays full LCI dues, butthe next four members of that family only pay half the LCI dues.

The family membership program is open to family members who are, eligible for Lions membership, joining the same club and living in the same household.

You will have to fill out the Family Unit Certificate Form and have the Club Secretary submit with theirMMR to receive the dues discount.

Veteran Member: Veteran Membership is another way to give a person the opportunity to serve thecommunity and the veteran pays no entrance fee but fully pays the International dues. To receive theentrance waiver you must fill out the U.S. Veteran Program Certification Form and have the ClubSecretary submit with the MMR.

Student Member: Student Membership allows students to make new friends and help others in theircommunity at the same time. Students enrolled in an educational institution who are between the age oflegal majority and through age 30, pay no entrance fee and half International dues. Student over age 30who are joining a Campus Lions Club pay $10 entrance fee and full International dues. You will need tofill out the Student Member Certification Form and have your Club Secretary submit with the MMR toreceive the dues discount.
