(marked as “Accessible Walking” on the map) Amenities: Water bottle filling stations, public toilets, seating and shops. Starting in Westport Park make your way along the Hastings River towards the town centre. Keep an eye out for dolphins that frequent these waters and make sure you stop and look at the public art that has been painted along the break wall. There are playgrounds at Westport Park and Town Green, Town Beach and a skate park near the end of the break wall making this stage a great walk for families. Difficulty: Moderate. Some steep sections and staircases. Amenities: Water bottle filling stations, seating and public toilets at Flynns Beach. From Town Beach make your way past the historic Flagstaff Hill and you are now commencing the walk along Port Macquarie’s amazing coastline. Lookout points are located at Windmill Hill Reserve and over Rocky Beach; keep an eye out from early winter through to spring as migrating whales pass by this coastline. Take care as you walk down Tuppenny Road to Flynns Beach and if you are feeling a bit warm why not take a quick dip? Flynns Beach is patrolled in the warmer months and is one of Port Macquarie’s favourite beaches. Flynns Beach Surf Club has a kiosk and shops are also located on nearby Flynn Street.
