Different kinds of seams:

Seams- is the basic element in all garment construction.the most basic way of joining two or more pieces of materialtogether in the garment construction.

•Plain seam this kind of seam is the most basic and common version.

French seam- creates neat finished and primarily used fortransparent and fine fabrics.

Flat fell seam-it is very popular in denim garments, mensshirts and work wear.

Self bound seam- begins with a plain seam. one seam allowance is then fold over the otherand stitch again.

Mock french seam-begins with plain seam .seam allowance are trimmed, folded to the inside, and stitch along the foldthis can be used as straight and curve part.

Welt seam-is often used in suites, coats, sporty dresses and pants.

Bias bound- is the easiest bound finish.

Tricot bound-is a inconspicuousfinished foe most fabric

Stitch and pinked- this finish is suitable for firmly-woven fabrics. it is quick and easy finish that prevent raveling and curling.

Turn and stitched- is suitable for light to medium weightwoven fabrics.

Zigzag seam finishes prevent raveling and are good for knits because they have more give than the straight-stitched finishes.
