Main Features

New and improved microphone system reduces extraneous sounds suchas wind or machine noise created while recording and thus enabling ahigher quality of sound recording than ever before.

New design and location of buttons enable single-handed control withoutever having to visually check the placement of function buttons. Directrecfits easily into your hand providing effortless control coupled with superbdictation experience (P.4).

The Directrec has 2 programmable (A,B) buttons (P.27,28).

All button functions are easily customized to suit a particular preferenceor any recording environment (P.27-31).

USB Audio Device Directrec, can be used as a USB microphone or USBspeaker when connected to a PC. In addition, a powerful built-in speakerprovides hi-fidelity acoustic playback.

Directrec can be used as a remote-control for the DSS Player 6 (referredto as DSS Player from now on) not only for direct recording, but alsowhen editing recorded files on a PC.

Directrec can save a recording as a file on a PC in DSS (Digital SpeechStandard) format.

Two recording modes, SP (Standard Playback) mode or LP (LongPlayback) mode (P.21).

Microphone sensitivity can be adjusted to better suit recordingconditions and environment (P.21).

This product is equipped with the following features.

Installing DSS Player Software

Before you connect your Directrec to your PC, you must first install theDSS Player software.Make sure to exit all running applications, eject the floppy disk if you areusing one, and logon as administrator if you are running Windows 2000/XP (Professional only) on the network.

Installing DSS Player

5 Register user information.Enter your name, company name and serial number. For the serial num-ber, see the label attached to the CD-ROM package provided with DSSPlayer. When entered, click [Next]. When the confirmation dialog appears,click [Yes].

6 Confirm your acceptance of the terms of the LicensingAgreement.You must accept the terms of the Licensing Agreement to install DSS Player.If you accept them, click [Yes].

1 Insert Olympus DSS Player CD into the CD-ROM drive.The installation program will start automatically. Once the program starts,jump to step 4. If it does not, follow the procedures in steps 2 and 3.

2 Click the [start] button and select [Run].

3 Enter “D:\setup.exe” in the [Open] field and click [OK] .This is assuming the CD-ROM drive is D.

4 The installation Language Selection dialog box opens.Click the desired language to select it.

Installing the Device Driver

11 Connect the Directrec to your PC, referring to “Connection toYour PC” (P.10).When you connect the Directrec to your PC for the first time after installingDSS Player, the Directrec’s driver will be installed automatically. If the driveris installed properly, DSS Player will start automatically.(For details about operation for DSS Player see pages from P.11)

7 Select where to install DSS Player.This lets you specify the folder in which to install DSS Player. Click [Browse]to find the desired installation folder. To accept the default folder, click [Next].NoteIf the installation folder does not exist, a confirmation dialog box opens to get yourpermission to create a folder for this purpose. Click [Yes].

8 Select a program menu folder.You may change the program menu folder to another one, such as [StartUp]. To accept the default folder, click [Next].

9 Authorizing the start of file copying.Confirm all “Current Settings”. To accept them, click [Next].

NoteTo change the program menu folder or installation folder, click [Back].

10 Copy files.Wait until DSS Player is installed on your PC, then click [Finish].The screen returns to the opening screen automatically.

Uninstalling DSS Player Software

1 Exit DSS Player.

2 Select [Control Panel] from [start] menu.

3 Click [Add/Remove programs] in the control panel window.

4 A list of applications that have been installed is displayed.Select the software you would like to uninstall/remove.

5 Click [Change/Remove].

6 Confirmation of Deleting the program.Click the [OK] button to start uninstalling.An additional message may appear, if so, read it carefully and follow theinstructions given.

7 When the [Maintenance Complete] screen is displayed, click [Fin-ish] to complete uninstalling.

To uninstall any of the software components of the DSS player softwareinstalled on your PC, follow the steps below.

Note• The voice files you made are stored in the [MESSAGE] folder. If you don’t need them,

delete them. You can confirm the location of the [MESSAGE] folder by clicking [Options]in the [Tools] menu before uninstalling.

Connection to Your PC

Be sure to install the DSS Player software before connecting theDirectrec to the PC. However, if you do connect the Directrec before orduring the software installation, the “Add New Hardware Wizard” willappear. In this case, cancel the wizard by pressing the [Cancel] buttonin the wizard screen and then install or continue the installation of DSSPlayer software.

Disconnecting from Your PC

Notes• Some PCs and USB hubs may not supply sufficient power and the Directrec fails to

connect. Refer to your PC User’s Manual regarding the USB port or USB hub on your PC.• When using a USB hub to connect the Directrec, always use a self-powered (AC adapter)

USB hub.• Never disconnect the USB code while the record/play indicator light is flashing. If you do,

the data will be destroyed.

Connecting to your PC Using the USB Cable

1 Connect the Directrec USBcable directly into the USBport or USB hub of your PC.When the DSS Player is activated,the icon will appear in DeviceTree View (P.12) of the DSSPlayer.

1 Disconnect the Directrec USB cable from your PC USB port orUSB hub.

Running DSS Player

By default, connecting the Directrec to your PC will start the applica-tion automatically.

Disabling automatic start

1 Right click Device Detector icon in the System Tray in thelower right hand corner of the screen, and select [Setting].The application which enables setting will be displayed by dialog.

2 Click the of the [DSS Player Version 6].The check mark on [DSS Player Version 6] disappears. For automatic start,select and click DSS Player to reinstate again.

Using the Remote Edit Window

Starting the [Remote Edit] window for the DSS Player main window

1 Ensure Directrec is properly connected to your PC and then startthe DSS Player.DSS Player main window appears.

2 From the DSS Player main window, click the [File] menu, thenselect [New File...], or click the icon.[Remote Edit] window appears.

3 Directrec button functions are completely supported when the[Remote Edit] window is open.

Notes• Ensure that the [Remote Edit] window is open when you use Directrec, or the remote

control will not function.• The [Remote Edit] window can also be displayed without opening the main menu when

starting the DSS Player (P.14).

For enjoyable recording experience, use Directrec with the DSS Playersoftware to record to your PC. The DSS Player can be configured toprovide you with complete remote control over your recording sessionfrom the Directrec without the use of the PC mouse.

Starting the [Remote Edit] window without opening the DSS Player main window

With a push of a button on the Directrec, you can set your PC to openthe [Remote Edit] window directly without entering the DSS Player mainwindow.

Using the Remote Edit Window

1 From the DSS Player main window, click the [Tools] menu, select[Options...], then click the [Directrec] tab.

2 Check [Start Remote Edit window automatically when DictationModule is launched] and then click the [OK] button.The pre-settings are now complete.When pre-settings are checked, the computer recognizes the Directrec deviceconnection as the DSS Player starting, and opens the [Remote Edit] windowwithout opening the main application window (P.12).

Overwrite Recording

You can overwrite a previous recording from any point within the file.Note that the overwritten recordings will be premanently erased.

1 Make sure you are at the starting pointof the recording to be overwritten.

2 Press the REC button on the Directrecor press the (Record) buttonin the [Remote Edit] window.The record/play indicator light on the Directrecwill light up and Overwrite Recording will start.

3 Press the REC button on the Directrecor press the (Stop) button inthe [Remote Edit] window to stopoverwriting.

Insert Recording

Additional recording can be inserted into a previously recorded file.

1 Check ( )“Insert recording” box in the[Remote Edit] window.

2 Make sure you are at the right positionin the file where recording insertshould take place.

3 While playing the file, press the RECbutton on the Directrec or press the

(Record) button in the [RemoteEdit] window to start inserting anadditional recording.The red record/play indicator light on Directrecwill become lit.

4 Press the REC button on the Directrecor press the (Stop) button in the[Remote Edit] window to the stopinserting the additional recording.

Save Recording

Two recording modes are available with the Directrec. SP (standardrecording) and LP (long-term recording).

The Directrec User ID plays an essential part in the file naming processof new recordings. The default User ID is “DR1000”. In order to changethe default user ID, follow the procedure below.

2 Select the [Directrec App] tab in the [Directrec ConfigurationTool] dialog box.The shortcut keys for the [Remote Edit] window programmed to each buttonon the Directrec as well as each start-up application are displayed.

Programming Shortcut Keys (Registration)You can customize the functions of other applications to the Directrecbuttons. This enables you to use the other application software easilywhile dictating with Directrec.The selected application shortcut keys can be programmed to DirectrecProgrammable (A,B) buttons by using [Directrec Configuration Tool].By doing so, the Directrec buttons can be used to start the applicationsand command the functions.The icon will be displayed in the task tray as a regular application in[Directrec Configuration Tool].

Only the programmable (A,B) buttons can be programmed. Programming of theNEW, REW or FF button is not possible. However, the combination with Shiftkey or Ctrl key of the PC will enable programming.

3 Browse and Select the application executable and click [Open].The application shortcut is now set.For example, if you select Microsoft Word “winword.exe” executable file,“winword” will be added to the [Directrec Configuration Tool] dialog box.

4 Select the tab added to the [Directrec Configuration Tool] dialogbox and program the shortcut key to Directrec Programmable(A,B) buttons.The registered contents will be automatically saved as a template.Programming to the buttons other than Programmable (A,B) buttons is possiblewith the combination with Shift key or Ctrl key of the PC.

Refer to the Online Help (P.9) for further information on programmingshortcut keys.

A:The [Button] column shows Directrec buttons. Shift+XXX and Ctrl+XXX indicatesthe combination of Shift key or Ctrl key on the keyboard and Directrec buttons.

Caractéristiques principales

Un nouveau système amélioré de microphone réduit les sons parasites(vent, bruit de machine produit) lors de l’enregistrement, et parconséquent permet une qualité sonore d’enregistrement supérieure,jamais atteinte auparavant.

Un nouveau design et un nouvel emplacement des touches permettentun contrôle d’une seule main, sans même avoir à vérifier visuellementla position des touches de fonction. Directrec s’adapte facilement à votremain, pour un maniement sans effort (P.4).

Le Directrec dispose de 2 touches programmables (A,B) (P.27,28).

Toutes les fonctions de touche sont facilement personnalisables pours’adapter à vos préférences particulières ou à n’importe quelenvironnement d’enregistrement (P.27-31).

Périphérique audio USB le Directrec, peut être utilisé comme microphoneUSB ou haut-parleur USB une fois connecté à un ordinateur. De plus, unpuissant haut-parleur intégré diffuse un son de qualité hi-fi.

Le Directrec peut être utilisé comme commande à distance pour le DSSPlayer 6 (ci-après dénommé DSS Player) non seulement pourl’enregistrement direct, mais aussi lors de l’édition des fichiersenregistrés sur un ordinateur.

Le Directrec peut sauvegarder un fichier d’enregistrement sur unordinateur au format DSS (norme vocale numérique).

Deux modes d’enregistrement, mode SP (Lecture Standard) ou modeLP (Lecture Longue Durée) (P.21).

La qualité du capteur du microphone peut être modifiée pour mieuxs’adapter aux conditions et à l’environnement d’enregistrement (P.21).

Installation du logiciel DSS Player

Avant de connecter le Directrec à votre ordinateur, vous devez d’abordinstaller le logiciel DSS Player.Assurez-vous de quitter toutes les applications, éjectez la disquette sivous en utilisez une, et connectez-vous en tant qu’administrateur sivous utilisez Windows 2000/XP (Professionnel seulement) sur le réseau.

Installation de DSS Player

5 Enregistrez les informations utilisateur.Entrez votre nom, le nom de votre entreprise et le numéro de série. Pour lenuméro de série, voir l’étiquette posée sur l’emballage du CD-ROM fourniavec DSS Player. Une fois la saisie terminée, cliquez sur [Suivant]. Lorsquela boîte de dialogue de confirmation s’affiche, cliquez sur [Oui].

1 Insérez le logiciel Olympus DSS Player dans le lecteur de CD-ROM.Le programme d’installation démarre automatiquement. Après le démarrage,sautez à l’étape 4 de la procédure. Si le programme d’installation ne démarrepas automatiquement, continuez aux étapes 2 et 3.

2 Sous Windows, cliquez sur [démarrer], puis choisissez[Exécuter].

3 Dans la zone [Ouvrir], tapez “D:\ Setup. exe” et cliquez sur[OK].La lettre D doit correspondre à votre lecteur de CD-ROM.

4 La boîte de dialogue permettant de sélectionner la langue àutiliser pour l’installation est affichée.Cliquez sur la langue souhaitée.

Installation du pilote

11 Connectez le Directrec à votre ordinateur en vous reportant àla section “Connexion à votre PC” (P.10).Lorsque vous connectez le Directrec à votre ordinateur pour la premièrefois après avoir installé DSS Player, le pilote de leDirectrec s’installeautomatiquement. Si le pilote s’est installé sans problème, l’écran ci-dessous apparaît et DSS Player démarre.(Pour plus de précision sur DSS Player, voir pages 11 et suivantes.)

6 Confirmation de l’acceptation des termes du contrat delicence.Pour pouvoir installer le DSS Player, vous devez accepter les termes ducontrat de licence. Si vous les acceptez, cliquez sur [Oui].

7 Sélectionner le dossier où le DSS Player devra être installé.Spécifiez ici le dossier dans lequel vous souhaitez installer le DSS Player.Cliquez sur [Parcourir] pour rechercher le dossier d’installation souhaité.Pour accepter le dossier proposé par défaut, cliquez sur [Suivant].RemarqueSi le dossier d’installation n’existe pas encore, une boîte de dialogue s’ouvre, danslaquelle vous pouvez confirmer la création d’un dossier réservé à l’installation. Cliquezsur [Oui].

8 Sélectionnez un dossier de programme.Vous pouvez renommer le dossier de programme, [Démarrage], par ex.Pour accepter le dossier par défaut, cliquez sur [Suivant].

9 Démarrer la copie des fichiers.Confirmez tous les “Configuration actuelle”. Pour les accepter, cliquez sur[Suivant].

RemarquePour modifier le dossier des menus du programme ou le dossier d’installation, cliquezsur [Précédent].

10 Copier les fichiers.Patientez jusqu’à ce que le DSS Player soit installé sur votre PC, puiscliquez sur [Terminer].L’écran revient automatiquement à l’écran de démarrage.

Désinstaller un logiciel DSS Player

1 Quittez DSS Player.

2 Sélectionnez [Panneau de Configuration] dans le menu[démarrer].

3 Cliquez sur [Ajout/Suppression de Programmes] dans la fenêtredu panneau de configuration.

4 La liste des applications installées est affichée.Sélectionnez le logiciel à installer.

5 Cliquez sur [Modifier/Supprimer].

6 Confirmation de la suppression du programme.Cliquez sur le bouton [OK] pour commencer la désinstallation.Un message supplémentaire peut apparaître. Si c’est le cas, lisez-leattentivement et suivez les instructions.

7 Lorsque la fenêtre [Maintenance terminée] est affichée, cliquezsur [Terminer] pour achever la désinstallation.

Pour désinstaller tout composant logiciel du logiciel DSS Player installésur votre PC, suivez les étapes ci-dessous.

Connexion à votre PC

Veillez à avoir installé le logiciel DSS Player avant de connecter leDirectrec à votre PC. Cependant, si vous connectez le Directrec avantou pendant l’installation “Assistant Mise à jour du matériel” apparaît;annulez-le en cliquant sur le bouton [Annuler] dans la fenêtre del’assistant puis installez ou continuez l’installation du logiciel DSS Player.

Remarques• Certains ordinateurs et concentrateurs USB peuvent ne pas fournir une alimentation

suffisante et empêcher la connexion du Directrec. Consultez le manuel d’utilisation devotre ordinateur pour en savoir plus sur le port USB de votre ordinateur ou sur leconcentrateur USB.

• Si vous utilisez un concentrateur USB pour connecter le Directrec, utilisez toujours unconcentrateur USB auto-alimenté (adaptateur secteur).

• Ne débranchez jamais le câble USB tant que les voyants d’enregistrement/lectureclignotent. Sinon, les données seront détruites.

Connexion à votre PC avec le câble de connexion USB

1 Branchez le câble USB duDirectrec directement dans leport USB de votre ordinateurou dans un concentrateurUSB.

Lorsque DSS Player est activé,

l’icône s’affiche dans la Vue desfichiers enregistrés (P.12) .

1 Faites un clic droit sur l’icône du détecteur de dispositif dansle coin inférieur droit de l’écran, puis sélectionnez [Réglage].L’application qui permet le réglage s’affichera dans une boîte de dialogue.

Características principales

El nuevo y mejorado sistema de micrófono reduce los sonidos extraños,como el sonido del viento o de una máquina, que se crean al grabar, porlo que ofrece una calidad de sonido de grabación mejor que nunca.

La ubicación y el diseño nuevos de los botones permiten el control conuna sola mano sin tener nunca que comprobar visualmente la colocaciónde los botones de función. Directrec se ajusta fácilmente a la mano yproporciona un control sin esfuerzo, además de una excelenteexperiencia de dictado (P.4).

Directrec tiene 2 botones (A,B) programables (P.27,28).

Puede personalizar fácilmente todos los botones de función paraadaptarlos a sus preferencias personales o a cualquier entorno degrabación (P.27-31).

Dispositivo de audio USB. Puede utilizar Directrec a modo de micrófonoo altavoz USB cuando lo conecte a un PC. Además, un potente altavozintegrado ofrece una reproducción acústica de alta fidelidad.

Instalación del software de DSS Player

Antes de conectar al PC, instale primero el software de DSS Player.Cierre todas las aplicaciones que estén abiertas, extraiga el disquete,si está utilizando uno, e inicie sesión como administrador si Windows2000/XP (sólo Professional) está en ejecución en la red.

5 Registre la información del usuario.Ingrese su nombre, nombre de su compañía y número de serie. En cuantoal número de serie, vea la etiqueta que se encuentra en el paquete delCD-ROM provisto con DSS Player. Una vez ingresado el número, hagaclic en [Siguiente]. Cuando aparece el diálogo de confirmación, haga clicen [Sí].

1 Inserte Olympus DSS Player en la unidad CD-ROM.El programa de instalación se iniciará de modo automático. Cuando estosuceda, pase al paso 4. De lo contrario, siga las instrucciones de los pasos2 y 3.

6 Confirmación de su aceptación de las condiciones delAcuerdo de licencia.Para instalar DSS Player tiene que aceptar las condiciones del Acuerdode licencia. Si acepta dicho acuerdo haga clic en [Sí].

7 Elija dónde desea instalar DSS Player.Esto le permite especificar la carpeta en la que desea instalar DSS Player.Haga clic en [Examinar] para buscar la carpeta donde instalará el programa.Para aceptar la carpeta por defecto, haga clic en [Siguiente].NotaSi la carpeta donde desea hacer la instalación no existe, aparece un cuadro dediálogo que le pregunta si permite que se cree una carpeta para este fin. 9 Iniciar el proceso de la copia de archivos.Confirme toda la “Configuración actual”. Para aceptarla haga clic en[Siguiente].

NotaPara elegir otra carpeta para el programa, haga clic en [Anterior].

10 Copiado de archivos.Espere a que se haya completado la instalación de DSS Player en su PC,y entonces haga clic en [Finalizar].La pantalla regresa automáticamente a la página Bienvenido.

Desinstalación del software de DSS Player

1 Salir de DSS Player.

2 Seleccionar [Panel de control] desde el menú [Inicio].

3 Hacer clic en [Agregar/Quitar programas] en la ventana del panelde control.

4 Ahora se muestra una lista de las aplicaciones instaladas en suPC.Seleccione el software a desinstalar.

5 Haga clic en [Agregar o quitar programas].

6 Confirmar el borrado del programa.Haga clic en el botón [OK] para iniciar la desinstalación.Es posible que aparezca un mensaje adicional. En ese caso, léalo conatención y siga las instrucciones.

7 Cuando la pantalla [Mantenimiento finalizado] aparezca, hagaclic en [Finalizar] para completar la desinstalación.

Conexión a su PC

Instale el software de DSS Player antes de conectar al PC. Sin em-bargo, si conecta antes o durante la instalación del software, aparecerá“Asistente para agregar nuevo hardware”. Personalización de las funciones de los botones Directrec

Puede utilizar los botones programables (A,B) de Directrec, así como laventana [Edición Remota], para controlar las aplicaciones y navegarpor ellas si están individualmente programados como accesos rápidosde aplicación. Puede guardar los accesos rápidos a las aplicacionescomo plantillas individuales. Hauptmerkmale

Das neue und verbesserte Mikrophonsystem reduziert Fremdgeräuschewie Wind oder Maschinenlärm, die während der Aufnahme entstehen.Somit sind qualitativ hochwertigere Tonaufnahmen möglich, als jemalszuvor.

Das neue Design und die neue Platzierung der Tasten ermöglichen eineEinhandbedienung, ohne dass es nötig ist, die Anbringung derBedienungstasten mit dem Auge zu überprüfen. Der Directrec liegt sehrgut in der Hand und bietet eine mühelose Bedienung zusammen miteinem großartigen Diktiererlebnis (S.4).

Der Directrec verfügt über 2 progammierbare (A,B) Tasten (S.27,28).

Alle Tastenfunktionen wurden angepasst, um einer bestimmten Präferenzoder jedem Aufnahmeumfeld gerecht zu werden (S.27-31).

Das USB Audio Gerät der Directrec, kann als USB-Mikrofon oder USB-Lautsprecher verwendet werden, wenn das Gerät an einen PCangeschlossen wird. Außerdem bietet ein leistungsstarker, eingebauterLautsprecher eine akustische Hi-Fi-Wiedergabe.

Der Directrec kann als Fernbedienung für den DSS Player 6 (imFolgenden DSS Player genannt) verwendet werden - nicht nur für diedirekte Aufnahme, sonder auch zur Bearbeitung von Dateien auf einemPC.

Der Directrec kann eine Aufnahme als Datei auf einem PC im DSS Format(Digital Speech Standard) speichern.

Zwei Aufnahmemodi, SP (Standardwiedergabe) Modus oder LP (Langzeit-Wiedergabe) Modus (S.21).

Die Qualität des Mikrofonsensors kann für eine bessere Anpassung andie Aufnahmebedingungen und an das Aufnahmeumfeld abgeändertwerden (S.21).

Installieren der DSS Player-Software

Bevor Sie Ihren Directrec an Ihren PC anschließen, müssen Sie zuvordie DSS Player-Software installieren.Achten Sie darauf, daß Sie alle laufenden Anwendungen beenden.Entfernen Sie die Diskette aus dem Laufwerk, falls Sie eine benutzen.Wenn Sie Windows 2000/XP (nur Professional) im Netzwerk betreiben,müssen Sie sich als Administrator anmelden.

Installieren des DSS-Players

5 Registrieren Sie die Benutzerdaten.Bitte geben Sie Ihren Namen, den Firmennamen und die Seriennummerein. Die Seriennummer befindet sich auf dem Siegel an der Verpackungder, dem DSS Player beigefügten, CD-ROM.Klicken Sie nach der Eingabe auf [Weiter]. Wenn das Dialogfeld zurBestätigung erscheint, klicken Sie auf [Ja].

1 Legen Sie die DSS Player-Software CD von Olympus in dasCD-ROM-Laufwerk ein.Das Installationsprogramm startet automatisch. Nach dem Start desProgramms gehen Sie zu Schritt 4. Startet das Installationsprogramm nichtautomatisch, machen Sie mit Schritt 2 und 3 weiter.

2 Klicken Sie in Windows auf [Start] und wählen Sie[Ausführen].

3 Geben Sie im Feld [Öffnen] „D:\ setup.exe“ ein und klickenauf [OK].Vorausgesetzt ist dabei, dass Ihr CD-ROM den Buchstaben D hat.

4 Das Dialogfeld zur Auswahl der Installationsspracheerscheint.Klicken Sie auf die gewünschte Sprache.

Installieren des Treibers

11 Verbinden Sie den Directrec mit Ihrem PC, bezugnehmend auf„Anschluss des Directrec an Ihren PC“ (S.10).Wenn Sie Ihren Directrec zum ersten Mal mit Ihrem PC verbinden, nachdemSie den DSS-Player installiert haben, wird der Treiber des Directrecautomatisch installiert. Falls der Treiber normal installiert ist, wird dasFolgende angezeigt, und der DSS-Player startet. (Für Details über dieBedienung des DSS-Players beachten Sie die Seiten S.11.)

6 Bestätigung der Annahme des Lizenzvertrags.Zur Installation des DSS Player müssen Sie die Bestimmungen desLizenzvertrags annehmen. Wenn Sie damit einverstanden sind, klickenSie auf [Ja].

7 Wählen Sie aus, wo Sie den DSS Player installieren möchten.Hier können Sie den Ordner angeben, in den Sie den DSS Player installierenmöchten. Klicken Sie auf [Durchsuchen], um den gewünschtenInstallationsordner auszusuchen. Der Standardordner wird mit einem Klickauf [Weiter] ausgewählt.HinweisExistiert der Installationsordner noch nicht, erscheint ein Dialogfeld zurErstellung eines neuen Ordners. Klicken Sie auf [Ja].

8 Wählen Sie einen Programmordner.Sie können auch einen vorhandenen Programmordner auswählen, z.B.[Autostart]. Zur Annahme des Standardordners wählen Sie [Weiter].

9 Kopiervorgang starten.Bestätigen Sie alle „Aktuellen Einstellungen“. Klicken Sie dazu auf [Weiter].

HinweisZur Änderung des Programm- oder des Installationsordners klicken Sie auf [Zurück].

10 Dateien Kopieren.Warten Sie, bis der DSS Player auf Ihrem PC installiert ist, und klickendann auf [Fertigstellen].Der Bildschirm kehrt automatisch zur Startseite zurück.

Deinstallieren der DSS Player-Software

1 Verlassen Sie den DSS Player.

2 Wählen Sie [Systemsteuerung] aus dem [Start] Menü aus.

3 Klicken Sie auf [Programm hinzufügen/entfernen] im Kontrollfeld.

4 Eine Liste der installierten Programme erscheint.Wählen Sie die Software aus , die deinstalliert werden soll.

5 Klicken Sie auf [Ändern/Entfernen].

6 Bestätigung des Löschens des Programms.Klicken Sie auf die Taste [OK], um die Deinstallation zu starten.Fahren Sie mit der Deinstallation entsprechend den Anweisungen auf demBildschirm fort.

7 Wenn die [Wartungsoperationen abgeschossen] Seite angezeigtwird, klicken Sie auf [Fertigstellen], um die Deinstallationabzuschließen.

Folgen Sie den nachstehenden Schritten, wenn Sie eine derSoftwarekomponenten der auf Ihrem PC installierten DSS Player Soft-ware zu deinstallieren.

Anschluss des Directrec an Ihren PC

Vor dem Anschließen des Directrec an den PC sollte die DSS Player-Software installiert sein. Falls Sie jedoch den Directrec vor oder währendder Installation der Software anschließen, erscheint der„Hardwareupdate-Assistent“. Beenden Sie den Assistenten, indem Siedie Taste [Abbrechen] im Assistenten-Bildschirm drücken, undinstallieren Sie dann den DSS Player oder fahren Sie mit seiner Instal-lation fort.

Hinweise• Manche PCs und USB-Hubs liefern u.U. nicht genug Leistung, sodass der Directrec nicht

anspricht. Informationen zum USB-Anschluss oder USB-Hub Ihres PCs entnehmen Siebitte dem Benutzerhandbuch für Ihren PC.

• Wenn Sie einen USB-Hub verwenden, um den Directrec anzuschließen, verwenden Siestets einen USB-Hub mit seperater Stromversorgung (Netzadapter).

• Bei blinkender Aufnahme/Wiedergabe-Kontrollleuchte darf das USB nicht abgezogenwerden. Andernfalls werden die Daten zerstört.

Anschluss an den PC über USB-Kabel

1 Schließen Sie das USB-Kabeldes Directrec direkt an denUSB-Port oder USB-Hub IhresPCs an.Wenn der DSS Player aktiviert ist,erscheint das Symbol in derGeräte-Baumansicht (S.12) desDSS Player.

1 Ziehen Sie das USB-Kabel des Directrec aus dem USB-Port oderUSB-Hub Ihres PCs.

Bedienung des DSS Players

Durch werkseitige Einstellung wird beim Anschluss des Directrec anIhren PC die Anwendung automatisch gestartet.

Deaktivieren des automatischen Starts

1 Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf das Symbol desGerätedetektors in der Systemablage in der Bildschirmeckerechts unten und wählen Sie [Einstellungen].Die Anwendung, die die Einstellung aktiviert, wird im Dialog angezeigt.

2 Klicken Sie auf im [DSS Player Version 6].Die Kontrollmarkierung bei [DSS Player Version 6] verschwindet. Für einenautomatischen Start, klicken Sie erneut um eine Kontrollmarke zu setzen.

1 Starten Sie Windows.

2 Klicken Sie in Windows auf[Start], zeigen Sie auf [AlleProgramme] und wählenSie dann [Olympus DSSPlayer] aus.

3 Klicken Sie auf[Olympus DSSPlayer].

2 Wählen Sie aus dem DSS Player Hauptfenster das [Datei] Menü,wählen Sie dann [Neue Datei...] oder klicken Sie auf das

Symbol.Das Fenster [Fernbearbeitung] erscheint.

3 Verwenden Sie für den gewünschten Bedienungsschritt denDirectrec oder das Fenster [Fernbearbeitung].

Der Directrec kann sowohl als USB-Mikrofon als auch als ein USB-Lautsprecher verwendet werden, wenn er an Ihren PC angeschlossenwurde. Sie können Ihren PC so einstellen, dass Sie das Fenster[Fernbearbeitung] direkt öffnen können, ohne in das Hauptfenster zugehen, wenn Sie den DSS Player starten.

Gebrauch des Fernbearbeitungsfensters

1 Wählen Sie aus dem DSS Player Hauptfenster das [Extras] Menü,wählen Sie dann [Optionen...], und klicken Sie auf Register[Directrec].

2 Setzen Sie bei [Beginnen Sie Fernbearbeitung Fensterautomatisch, wenn Dictation Module ausgestoßen wird] undklicken Sie dann auf [OK].Die Voreinstellungen sind nun abgeschlossen.Wenn die unmarkierten Voreinstellungen markiert werden, erkennt derComputer die Directrec-Geräte-Verbindung als den Start eines DSS Playersund öffnet deshalb das Fenster [Fernbearbeitung], ohne dasHauptanwendungsfenster zu öffnen (S.12).

Überschreiben von Aufnahmen

Programmierbare (A,B) Tasten des Directrec ebenso wie das Fenster[Fernbearbeitung] können verwendet werden, um die Anwendungen zu steuernund durch sie durchzunavigieren, wenn diese individuell als Anwendungs-Schnelltasten programmiert sind.Die Schnelltasten für die Anwendungen können individuell als Schablonegespeichert werden. Da eine Schablone automatisch umgestellt werden kann,wenn die Anwendung aktiv wird, können die verschiedenen Anwendungen, fallsnötig, über eine Fernsteuerung betrieben werden.

4 Wählen Sie das der Dialogfenster [Directrec Configuration Tool]hinzugefügte Register und programmieren Sie die Schnelltasteauf den programmierbaren (A,B) Tasten des Directrec.Die registrierten Inhalte werden automatisch als Schablone gespeichert. Esist mit der Kombination aus der Shift-Taste oder der Ctrl-Taste des PCsmöglich, auf den Tasten nicht-programmierbare Tasten zu programmieren.

Caratteristiche principali

Microfono di nuova concezione in grado di ridurre i disturbi quali quellidel vento o di un apparecchio creati durante la registrazione,consentendo al tempo stesso una qualità di registrazione audio senzaprecedenti.

Il nuovo design e la posizione dei tasti consente il funzionamento conuna sola mano senza dover controllare visivamente la posizione dei tastidi funzione. Directrec consente un controllo semplice dal palmo dellamano, accompagnato da una eccezionale esperienza di dettatura. (P.4).

Directrec dispone di due tasti programmabili (A,B) (P.27,28) .

Tutte le funzioni dei tasti sono facilmente personalizzabili in modo daadattarsi ad una esigenza particolare o a qualsiasi ambiente diregistrazione (P.27-31).

L’USB Audio Device Directrec può essere adoperato come microfonoUSB o diffusore USB se collegato ad un PC. Un potente diffusoreincorporato garantisce, inoltre, una riproduzione acustica ad alta fedeltà.

Directrec può essere utilizzato come telecomando del DSS Player 6(chiamato da qui in seguito DSS Player) non solo per la registrazionediretta, ma anche quando si modificano i file registrati su un PC.

Directrec può memorizzare una registrazione su un PC come file informato DSS (Digital Speech Standard).

Prima di collegare il Directrec al PC, installare il software DSS Player.Chiudere tutte le applicazioni in esecuzione, estrarre il floppy disk, se losi sta adoperando, ed entrare come administrator, se si sta eseguendoWindows 2000/XP (solo Professional) sulla rete.

Installazione del DSS Player

1 Inserire il Software Olympus DSS Player nel lettore di CD-ROM.Viene avviato automaticamente il programma di installazione. Dopo che èstato avviato questo programma, procedete come indicato a partire dalpunto 4. Se non dovesse comparire la schermata di installazione passateal punto 2 e 3.

2 Fate clic su [start] e selezionate [Esegui].

3 Immettete “D:\setup.exe” nel campo [Apri] e fate clic su[OK].Viene qui presupposto che il CD-ROM si trovi nel drive D.

4 Si apre la finestra di dialogo Selezione lingua diinstallazione.Fate clic sulla lingua desiderata per selezionarla.

5 Registrare le informazioni relative all’utente.Inserire il vostro nome, il nome della società ed il numero seriale.Per il numero seriale, vedere l’etichetta sulla confezione del CD-ROM fornitocon il DSS Player. Dopo l’inserimento, cliccare su [Avanti]. Quando apparela finestra di dialogo per la conferma, cliccare su [Sì].

11 Per quanto riguarda la connessione al PC vedasi “Connessioneal PC” (P.10).Nel caso in cui venga connesso dopo l’installazione del DSS Player per laprima volta il Directrec al PC, il Directrec viene installato automaticamente.Ad ogni successivo collegamento, la seguente finestra appare e il DSSPlayer viene avviato.(Per istruzioni dettagliate sull’uso del DSS Player si faccia riferimento apagina 11 e seguenti.)

6 Confermate la vostra accettazione dei termini del Contrattodi licenza.Dovete accettare i termini del Contratto di licenza per poter installare ilDSS Player. Se li accettate, fate clic su [Sì].

7 Selezionate dove installare il DSS Player.Potete specificare la cartella, nella quale intendete installare il DSS Player.Fate clic su [Sfoglia] per trovare la cartella desiderata per l’installazione.Se accettate la cartella di default fate clic su [Avanti].NotaSe la cartella di installazione non esiste, si apre una finestra di dialogo di conferma,per darvi la possibilità di creare una cartella per questo scopo. Fate clic su [Sì].

8 Selezionate una cartella Menu programma.Potete passare dalla cartella Menu programma ad un’altra, per esempio[Avvio]. Per accettare la cartella di default fate clic su [Avanti].

9 Autorizzazione dell’avvio per la copiatura del file.Confermate tulle le “Impostazioni correnti”. Per accettarle fate clic su[Avanti].

NotaPer cambiare cartella Menu programma o cartella di installazione fate clic su [Indietro].

10 Copiatura dei file.Attendete che sia ultimata l’installazione del DSS Player sul vostro PC, poifate clic su [Fine].Lo schermo ritorna automaticamente alla schermata d’apertura.

Disinstallazione del software DSS Player

Per disinstallare tutti i componenti del programma DSS Player installatisul PC effettuare le seguenti operazioni.

1 Uscite da software DSS Player.

2 Selezionate [Pannello di controllo] da [start] menu.

3 Fate clic su [Aggiugi/Rimuovi] nella finestra del pannello dicontrollo.

4 Appare un elenco delle applicazioni che sono state installate.Selezionare il software da disinstallare.

5 Fate clic su [Aggiungi/Rimuovi].

6 Conferma della Eliminazione del programma.Fare clic sul tasto [OK] per iniziare la disinstallazione. Nel caso in cui appaiaun ulteriore messaggio, leggetelo attentamente e seguite le istruzionivisualizzate.

7 Quando appare la schermata [Manutenzione completata], fate“clic” su [Fine] per completare la disinstallazione.

Connessione al PC

Assicurarsi di installare il sofware DSS Player prima di collegare Directrecal PC. Tuttavia, se si collega Directrec prima o durante l’installazionedel software, appare “Add New Hardware Wizard”. In tal caso, annullarel’installazione guidata premendo il tasto [Cancel] nella schermata, quindiinstallare o continuare l’installazione del software DSS Player.

Per default, collegando Directrec al PC si consente di avviareautomaticamente l’applicazione.

Personalizzazione della funzione del tasto Directrec

I tasti Directrec programmabili (A,B) e la finestra [Modifica remota]possono essere utilizzati per controllare e navigare tra le applicazioniquando vengono programmati singolarmente come shortcut delleapplicazioni. Tali shortcut per le applicazioni possono essere salvatisingolarmente come template. Poiché è possibile passareautomaticamente al template quando l’applicazione diventa attiva, levarie applicazioni possono essere controllate dal telecomando, sedesiderato.


2 Fare clic sull’icona della barra degli strumenti nella finestra[Directrec Configuration Tool]. Oppure selezionare [Nuovamaschera] nel menu [File].Appare la finestra di dialogo [Apri].

Основные функции

Новая улучшенная система микpофона позволяет уменьшать пpизаписи постоpонние звуки, напpимеp, ветеp или шум машины, чемдостигается более высокое качество записи, чем pаньше.

Новый дизайн и pасположение кнопок позволяет упpавлять имивpучную без необходимости визуальной пpовеpки pасположенияфунциональных кнопок. Directrec идеально лежит в pуке,обеспечивая легкий контpоль в сочетании с высоким качествомзаписи (Стp.4).

Directrec имеет 2 кнопки (А,В) для пpогpаммиpования (Стp.27,28).

Все кнопочные функции легко настpаиваются на любые тpебованияи любые окpужающие условия (Стp.27-31).

USB аудио устpойство Directrec, может быть использовано как USBмикpофон или USB гpомкоговоpитель пpи подсоединении кпеpсональному компьютеpу. В дополнение мощный встpоенныйгpомкоговоpитель обеспечивает акустическое воспpоизведениевысокого качества.

Directrec может быть использован как пульт дистанционногоупpавления DSS Player 6 (будет именоваться в дальнейшем как DSSPlayer) не только пpи пpямой записи, но и пpи pедактиpованиифайлов на ПК.

Инсталляция пpогpаммногообеспечения DSS Player

Пеpед подсоединением Directrec к вашему ПK следует установитьпpогpаммное обеспечение DSS Player.Закpойте все откpытые пpогpаммы, выньте дискетук, если вы еeиспользуете, и заpегистpиpуйтесь как администpатоp, если выиспользуете Windows 2000/XP (только Professional) в сетевойконфигуpации.

Инсталляция DSS Player

5 Заpегистpиpуйте инфоpмацию пользователя.Введите Ваше имя, название фиpмы и сеpийный номеp. Сеpийныйномеp см. на упаковке CD-ROM с пpогpаммой DSS Player. После вводанажмите [Далее]. Когда появится диалоговое окно дляподтвеpждения, нажмите [Да].

6 Подтвеpдите свое согласие с условиями лицензионногосоглашения.Вы должны подтвеpдить свое согласие с условиями лицензионногосоглашения, чтобы установить DSS Player. Если Вы согласны с ними,нажмите [Да].

1 Вставьте диск Olympus DSS Player в дpайв CD-ROM.Пpогpамма инсталляции запустится автоматически. Когда пpогpаммазапустится, пеpеходите к пункту 4. В пpотивном случае выполняйтепункты 2 и 3.

2 Нажмите кнопку [пуск] и выбеpите [Выполнить].

3 Введите в стpоке [Откpыть] “D:\setup.exe” и нажмите[OK].Пpедполагается, что имя CD-ROM дpайва “D”.

4 Появится окно выбоpа языка инсталляции.Выбеpите нужный язык.

9 Pазpешение на копиpование файлов.Подтвеpдите все “Текущие установки” – нажмите кнопку [далее].

ПpимечаниеЧтобы изменить папку главного меню для пpогpаммы или папку инсталляции,нажмите кнопку [Hазад].

10 Копиpование файлов.Подождите, пока DSS Player инсталлиpуется в компьютеp, затемнажмите кнопку [Готoво].Экpан автоматически веpнется к стаpтовому окну.

11 Подсоедините Directrec к компьютеpу в соответствии спpоцедуpой, описанной в pазделе “Подсоединение кВашему пеpсональному компьютеpу” (Cтp.10).Когда Вы подсоедините Directrec к компьютеpу в пеpвый pаз послеинсталляции пакета DSS Player, дpайвеp Directrec будетинсталлиpован автоматически. Если дpайвеp инсталлиpованноpмально, автоматически запустится DSS Player. (о pаботе с DSSPlayer см. стpаницы, начиная с 11)

Деинсталляция пpогpаммногообеспечения DSS Player

Для деинсталляции установленных компонентов пpогpаммы DSSPlayer выполните пункты, пpиведенные ниже.

1 Выйдете из пpогpамм DSS Player.

2 Выбеpите [панель упpавления] из меню [пуск].

3 Нажмите на [Установка/удаление пpогpамм] в окне панелиупpавления.

4 Отобpазится список пpиложений, котоpые былиинсталлиpованы.Выбеpите пpогpаммное обеспечение, котоpое следует деинсталлиpовать.

5 Нажмите кнопку [Изменить/удалить].

6 Подтвеpждение удаления пpогpаммы.Нажмите кнопку [Да] для начала деинсталляции.Может появиться дополнительное сообщение. Если это случится,пpочитайте его внимательно и следуйте пpедлагаемым инстpукциям.

Подсоединение к Вашемупеpсональному компьютеpу

Установите пpогpаммное обеспечение DSS Player пеpедподсоединением Directrec к ПK. Однако, если вы подсоединитеDirectrec пеpед или во вpемя инсталляции пpогpаммногообеспечения, появится “Мастеp добавления нового устpойства”. Вэтом случае отмените мастеpа нажатием кнопки [Cancel] на экpанемастеpа, а затем установите или пpодолжайте инсталляциюпpогpаммного обеспечения DSS Player.

Отсоединение от компьютеpа

Пpимечания• На некотоpые пеpсональные компьютеpы или кабели USB не подается необходимое

электpопитание, тогда Directrec не сможет быть подсоединен. В этом случаеобpатитесь к Инстpукции пользователя ПK в pаздел по поpту USB или USB-концентpатоpу.

• Пpи подсоединении USB-концентpатоp к Directrec всегда пользуйтесь USB-концентpатоpом с автономным источником питания (сетевым адаптеpом).

• Никогда не подсоединяйте кабель USB, если мигает световой индикатоp запись/воспpоизведение. В этом случае данные будут уничтожены.

Подсоединение к компьютеpу с помощьюсоединительного USB-кабеля

1 Подсоедините кабель USBDirectrec пpямо в USB поpтили USB-концентpатоpвашего ПK.

Когда активиpован DSS Player,появляется иконка вОтобpажение в виде деpеваустpойства (Стp.12) о DSSPlayer.

Откpывание окна [дистанционное pедактиpование]

1 Убедитесь в пpавильности подсоединения Directrec квашему ПK и затем запустите DSS Player.Появляется основное окно DSS Player.
