PlotThe plot of the first two minutes is relatively simple but has a dramatic and
unpredictable feeling, which is strong within the psychological horror genre.
Firstly it starts off with a teenage girl of the age of about 17 walking down a
secluded area while talking on her mobile phone to her boyfriend. As she is
walking down this area talking on her mobile phone she hears a noise and stops
what she is doing, while in mid-sentence. She is clearly quite nervy about this
noise but continues and reassures her boyfriend that she is fine and thought she
just heard something. As she carries on she hears another noise which is louder
this time, it is apparent from the look on her face that she has an idea of what is
happening which adds to her apprehension. She ends the call with her boyfriend in
an abrupt manner and roughly shoves her phone into her pocket while she begins
to run further down the abandoned area, as if she is running from something she is
expecting. The screen goes black and then we see her lying on the floor with her
eyes half open as she gives a slight nostalgic and unconvincing smirk/smile. The
screen once again goes black and we hear a phone ringing and as someone picks
the screen shows a zoom out image of a childhood picture but all we can hear is
someone on the phone sobbing “I‟m so sorry”.
Location The location that I am using is that on Brington Road, Long Bucky. I believe this is
the best location for what I want to film as it has the right „feel‟ as it is secluded and
perfect for a horror!
Mise en sceneThe area that I am using is situated in the countryside surrounded by trees and
open farm land. It is a very quite area that is used for people cycling and walking
with only a narrow county road going through it. Also above where my location is,
is a train bridge which I believe adds a new dimension but also contributes to the
uncertainty of the whole genre. The ground is uneven and looks as if it is not used
very often. One of the reasons I chose this area also is because when doing my 4
deconstructions it was evident that the areas usually used don‟t have anybody
about and are secluded and in a sense cut off from human contact.
The only props that I am using are a mobile phone, a telephone and a picture
frame with a childhood photo. Using minimal props helps to check organisation
but also does not take dominance over the rest of the factors. This links into my
4 deconstructions that I made as there were no noticeable props that connoted
anything that the future of the movie may contain.
The only music I am going to have in my two minute opening is for when the
girl is running away and the camera is casing after her. The track I am using
is called „Running away‟ and I found it on FreePlayMusic.com
Mise en scene
The actress that I am using is
going to be wearing really casual
clothes for the role, which we both
chose together that we believe fits
the best.
She will be wearing skinny jeans
with trainers, a black top, a
chequered shirt and a denim
jacket. This is the typical outfit of a
17 year old girl and that is what I
wanted to be portrayed, that she
is just the typical girl.
