The Grand Old Duke of York
SynopsisThe Ancient City of York is in trouble! The conniving Baron Snatcher has
cancelled the Annual Fayre and banned fun and laughter. Even worse, he is
plotting with the Evil Fairy Maleficent to overthrow the Duke and destroy the
famous army of Ten Thousand Men. It is up to the gypsy boy, Colin, and a
ragged group of misfits to outsmart the villains. With the help of Old Mother
Shipton, the good witch, their adventure full of song and dance, silly jokes and
slapstick routines may end with love triumphing over evil.
Welcome to York, a colourful world inhabited by nursery rhyme characters
and filled with songs and passion. This bright and fun production is brought to
you by the collaborative efforts of the "A Team"; Angie, Ariyanna, and Adam.
Every cast and crew member brought their A game and imagination to bring
this story to life, creating a show that is unique to this talented group. Have
fun cheering the good guys and booing the bad, and feel free to sing along!

Angie McLeod ~ Director ~ Angie is an actor, director, and performer based
in North Vancouver. This is her fourth Panto with DCS, having acted in
Dracula and Dragon of Wantley, and directed Captain Hook's Revenge. You
may recognise her from The Lumberjack Show at Grouse Mountain or her
youtube channel, Pancake Laundry Monday. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Ann Booth ~ Set Designer ~ Ann’s passion for creating theatrical sets has
lasted many years and even though she has moved to “the coast” can’t resist a
soft spot she has for DCS pantomimes. Ann directed this panto in 1985 and is
happy to help on this production too. Enjoy!
Adam Ritchey ~ Musical Arrangements ~ Adam is thrilled to be working as
the musical director for this production of The Grand Old Duke of York.
Although it is his first time working with the wonderful and talented people at
Deep Cove Stage Society, he is no stranger to pantomimes having been
involved in many with SMP Dramatic Society. Studying at SFU to be a
teacher, this has been a great opportunity to improve and refine his skills in a
context of something he’s always loved – music. He’d like to thank the cast
for putting up with him, and the production team for allowing him this great
opportunity. Enjoy the show!
Ariyanna Pascuzzi ~ Choreographer ~ Ariyanna is thrilled to once again be
part of this year’s production and to be one of the “A TEAM.” She has been
involved in Musical Theatre since the age of 16, after which she studied dance
and kinesiology. For the past 25 years she has been teaching students of all
ages as well as staging and choreographing many Elementary/
Secondary school and local theatrical productions. Her resume also includes;
chairing the entertainment for the B.C. 55+ Games, working with an annual
production of the Nutcracker, performing and establishing her own company
that specializes in dance/sports conditioning. “You may get me out of the
Theatre, but you’ll never get the Theatre out of me.” ... A.P.
Bob Bradley ~ Technical Advisor ~ Bob has directed suspenseful plays
(Victim), comedies (One for the Road), horror (Haunting of Hill House),
dramas (All My Sons) and the panto The Dragon of Wantley.
