PLANNED PARENTHOOD Your prayerful "witness" saves lives....help end
the atrocity of abortion!
Bishop Robert Guglielmone will join with Anglican Bishop Mark Lawrence in the ecumenical Good Friday Prayer Vigil at the "new" Planned Parenthood abortion facility (1312 Ashley River Rd.) between 9 and 10AM that morning. Father Romanoski will preside from 8:30 until 9am and Father West will close this beautiful event from 11:30 until Noon. Christians of all denominations are invited to join in solemn prayer as our shepherds lead us in scripture and reflections on our Savior's sacrifice for our redemption. We will also pray for the innocent children sacrificed daily in their mother's womb as well as for all victims of abortion. It will be a time of deep reflection, with a life-sized Cross our "only SIGN".. keeping a prayerful focus on the day marking Christ’s death on the cross for our redemption. For info call Cheryle 843-696-0604 RAIN OR SHINE: Bring chair, umbrella, bug spray & stay as long as you are able! Please do NOT park in Carriage Lane Office lot/work day! SPECIAL EVENTS Any person or group who wishes to hold a Fundraising Event on the church property must first contact the Special Events Committee by calling Linda Britzke at 843-249-2356 x 10.
Welcome the Visiting Madonna While we are encouraged to embrace Jesus’ cross, perhaps the next best thing we can do as the faithful is to turn to the Blessed Mother for guidance…”Blessed Mother, please help me.” As human beings, we can’t do everything. But the Blessed Mother can go to her Son Jesus and do wonders. The Knights of Columbus are offering intimate prayer devotions in your own homes to all parishioners so that every family may experience visitation for one week from our Visiting Madonna. Families will begin to experience a sense of peace, quiet and reflection while saying the Rosary as a family with Our Lady. The family that prays together stays together. If you are interested in participating in welcoming the Visiting Madonna, please call Charles Scott at (843) 205-9341 or email him at [email protected]
This week, the Visiting Madonna will be presented to James & Anita LeVan at the 5:00 PM Mass
Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord

Focus on Religious Freedom From Catholics for Freedom of Religion www.cffor.org Freedom of Conscience &
Religion Rights Ignored:
Washington State: A bill containing no religious or moral exemptions, requiring the state's insurers who cover maternity care to also cover elective abortions and contraception, was passed by the state legislature and awaits the governor's signature. The bill also requires that as of 2019, health plans must provide free sterilizations, contraceptive drugs and devices.
~The Washington State Catholic Conference, along with pro-life groups and churches, strongly oppose the bill because it would promote abortions while violating constitutionally-protected conscience rights of individuals, churches, businesses and others. "We strongly believe that even those who do not share our unconditional commitment to the dignity of every person from the moment of conception, have every reason to support our right to exercise our conscience in accord with the teachings of our faith," a Bishop's letter states.
Little Sisters of the Poor Freedom of Conscience & Religion Still Threatened: In October, 2017, the government issued a new rule admitting that it violated the law when it tried to force religious ministries like the Little Sisters to violate their faith and include abortions and contraception in their health insurance plans. The rule fulfills the 2016 Supreme Court ruling and the President's 2017 Executive Order, but the Little Sisters still need permanent court protection to finally end their years-long lawsuit and go back to serving the elderly poor.
~The case has been on hold ever since the Supreme Court unanimously overturned the lower court rulings against the Little Sisters, ordered the government not to impose $70 million in fines, and ordered the lower courts to allow time for the federal government to "accommodate the petitioners' religious beliefs."
(littlesistersofthepoor.com; townhall.com, 3/5/18; dailysunnews.com, 3/7/18) "The conscientious scruples of all men should be treated with great delicacy and tenderness: and it is my wish and desire that the laws may be extensively accommodated to them ..."

THE PONTIFICAL GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION
Pope Francis has asked our parish to support the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, which helps Christians in the Holy Land. Your support helps the church minister in parishes, provide Catholic schools and offer religious education. The Pontifical Good Friday Collection also helps to preserve the sacred shrines. The wars, unrest and instability have been especially hard on Christians. In
these times of crisis, the Pontifical Good Friday Collection provides humanitarian aid to refugees. When you contribute to the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, you become an instrument of peace and join with Catholics around the world in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land. PLEASE BE GENEROUS! For more information about Christians in the Holy Land, visit www.myfranciscan.org/good-friday
