I. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to my walkthrough! I'm starting this not knowing how farI'm going to get, but hopefully I'll be able to write out the wholegame for those having trouble. Also, since the boy has no name at thestart of the game, I'm going to name him Trainer just for thewalkthrough. It's better than calling him boy. Well, here goes!

II. MENU ITEMS

Clock In the top right corner of the game screen, you will see an alarmclock. This clock will chart your time through Digimon World. Theclock runs on a 24-hour system, and you will find that certain eventsoccur during the day while others happen at night. The clock's handmoves around once every hour. The white dot that circulates theoutside of the clock will tell you what time it is. When the dot is atthe top of the circle, it is night. When it is at the bottom, it isdaytime. You can tell what time of day it is by the pictures on theclock. Red denotes sunset and purple denotes sunrise.

Happiness Gauge In the bottom right corner of the game screen, you will find ahappiness gauge. It is the upper gauge with the happy face on it.When this meter is high, your Digimon will be happy and live longer,

Page 4: Digimon World FAQ

but there is also a chance that it will be spoiled. If happiness ishigh and discipline is low, your Digimon may not accept items that yougive it, such as stat chips or auto pilots.

Discipline Gauge In the bottom right corner of the game screen, below thehappiness gauge, you will find the discipline gauge. When this meteris high, your Digimon will be more obedient and take almost any itemthat you give him, but your Digimon may get tired easily and hislifespan will be shortened.

Item Command You will find the item command in the menu screen. Whenselected, you will be able to see a list of all the items that youcurrently have, and be able to use some of these items. When you beginthe game, you have a capacity for 10 different kinds of items. If youcan find Nanimon and get his keychain, your item capacity will increaseto 20 different items.

Digimon Command You will find the Digimon command in the menu screen. Whenselected, you will be able to see your Digimon's statistics, his age,his weight, his Digimon type, his active hours, and his currentcondition. You will also be able to set his techniques for battle onthis screen. Watch this screen carefully throughout the game; youwill want to monitor your Digimon's weight often. Your Digimon will beone of three types: virus, data or vaccine. Types in Digimon World arenot like Pokémon: one type doesn't dominate another. What they willdo, though, is prevent some battles. Sometimes, a Digimon of the sametype will not want to battle with you, and leaves the scene without afight. As for techniques, always make sure that your Digimon has threetechniques to choose from, for an easier time in battles.

Player Command You will find the player command in the menu screen. The playermenu gives you your current Tamer rank, the number of Digimon you havetrained, how much money you have, the current amount of time you haveplayed, and any special items or medals you have collected. To raiseyour rank, train many high level Digimon, and your rank will go up fromtime to time. You can also find a list of Digimon cards that you havein the player menu, and can view your cards.

Pet and Scold Commands You will find the pet and scold commands in the menu screen.Petting increases happiness but decreases discipline. Scoldingincreases discipline but decreases happiness. Personally, I think bothof these functions are useless, because feeding your Digimon, taking itto the bathroom on time, and letting it sleep when it's sleepy keepsthe happiness gauge at full. Fighting in many battles will keep yourdiscipline gauge at full, so you don't need to scold. And besides, whyscold your Digimon for going to the bathroom on accident, when you'rethe one who is supposed to make sure he gets to a toilet? He's not areal pet. He's not going to learn from his mistake. So just don'tscold him, ok? :)

Sleep Command When your Digimon's sleepy, let him rest!!! Besides, it fills upboth his HP and MP, which can be very helpful if you're in a tightspot. Your Digimon has its own active hours, and will sleep when thattime period is over. For example, my Tyrannomon sleeps from 2:00 to

Page 5: Digimon World FAQ

11:00 every day. That's his sleeping pattern. Usually, your Digimonwill have a certain sleeping pattern that it follows. Plan yourtraining and adventures around this fact!

III. DIGIMON STATUS

Your Digimon will let you know its status through thought bubblesthat will appear from time to time. Here are the explanations ofthought bubbles.

Meat Your Digimon is hungry! Feed him by going into the item menu andgiving him meat, fish, or digital mushrooms. Digimon like sirloinbest, and it decreases tiredness in your Digimon. One sirloin or meatmay not satisfy your Digimon's hunger right away. Your Digimon willtell you if he is full after he eats. If he shows a sign of happiness, such as roaring or making other noise, that means he is full. If not, then wait a little while, and his hunger bubble should come up again.Feed your Digimon until he is full!

Poop Yes, I'm sorry to say that's what it is! Hurry and take yourDigimon to the closest toilet, before he has an accident! If you areunable to get your Digimon to a toilet, then he will go where ever youare, and your virus gauge will increase by one. If the virus gaugegets too high, your Digimon may become the smelliest of the Digimon:Sukamon! If you have gotten to the point where you can buy a portablepotty, then carrying a few of those around with you isn't too bad of anidea!

Sleep When the Z's appear, your Digimon is ready to be tucked in forthe night. Your Digimon can sleep anywhere, and his HP and MP will betotally refilled. Sleeping is also the only opportunity that you haveto save your game progress.

Sweat When a tear drop shaped sweat bead appears in the thoughtballoon, you've overworked your Digimon! This is a bad status for aDigimon to have, as it decreases happiness and shortens lifespan. Toprevent this status from happening, feed your Digimon sirloin whichdecreases tiredness, and to visit either Punimon or Centarumon fromtime to time. Both Digimon can relieve your Digimon of tiredness.

Band-aid If your Digimon finishes a battle with a low HP, he may getinjured. If this occurs, you can use either medicine or a bandage toheal your Digimon. This shouldn't happen often if you pay closeattention to the battles you're in and keep plenty of recovery itemshandy.

Hypodermic Needle Oh no! Your Digimon is sick! This can occur if you neglect yourDigimon, such as not feeding it or not letting it sleep. Bad people!Don't neglect your Digimon! Heal him by giving him medicine, or byvisiting Centarumon's clinic.

IV. BATTLE TECHNIQUES

Page 6: Digimon World FAQ

Your Digimon can learn many techniques during its lifetime, andif you care for your Digimon correctly, its techniques may be passed onto your new Digimon. Battle techniques are important because the moreyou have, the easier it will be to digivolve to higher levels. Manytimes, if your Digimon knows a lot of techniques, it may stilldigivolve to a higher level, even if it doesn't have high stats. It isgood to get as many techniques as you can early on, so your Digimonraising can be more flexible. Digimon can learn techniques two ways. One way is to teach your Digimon at the chalkboard and increase itsbrain. While very rare, your Digimon may randomly learn a new attackthat way. The more common way is by battling other creatures. Whenyour Digimon is attacked in battle, he may learn the attacks that theother Digimon used on him. The best way to determine if an enemyDigimon can teach your partner Digimon a technique is to look at whatDigimon its base Digimon is. For example, I had a Patomon once. Itrained it by fighting Tsukaimon, which are the dark blue Patamon-likeDigimon that hang out by the Digital Bridge. Tsukaimon are Patamonbased, which means they look like Patamon. They carry most of the sameattacks that Patamon has, so the potential for learning is at itsmaximum.

You may not always find an enemy Digimon that has the same baseas your Digimon, such as Elecmon, but that's okay. If you cannot finda look alike, then look for elemental matches. Elecmon has no matchingenemy, yet by fighting Modoki Betamon, Dokunemon, and Shima Unimon, yousee that they all have some electric based attacks, which most likelyyour Elecmon can learn. Good luck learning all of the techniques!

V. FINISHING MOVES

Finishing moves are semi-important in each battle. You can tellwhen your Digimon is ready for his finishing move when the word FINISHis complete in the top right hand corner of your screen. In mostcases, you won't get to use your finishing move, because your Digimonwill have defeated any enemy before the word finish is, well, finished.:) You will, however, be able to use it in most boss battles or intough battles with more than one enemy. Be careful though! If yourDigimon is hit while he's powering up for his finishing move, it's allover and the word finish has to be spelled out all over again. Hewon't even get to use it. For the best results, wait until you havebeen hit by your enemy, and press the square button to trigger thefinishing move right when you get hit. Your enemy will not have enoughtime to attack again while you power up, so you should be fine. In amulti-enemy battle, DO NOT use your finishing move until there is onlyone enemy left. 90% of the time, when a finishing move is executedwhen there are more than one enemy, you will lose your finishing moveto an enemy attack. Don't waste a finishing move!!! Since they don'tuse MP, they are very useful during any battle, especially an MPdraining boss battle. Use the L1 and R1 buttons to charge up your Digimon'sfinishing attack. The more the meter is filled, the harder he'll hit!

VI. BATTLE COMMANDS

When you first start out with a new Digimon, you will haverelatively few battle commands. Most likely you will have "Your call"and "Run" as your only options. "Your call" tells the Digimon tochoose his own attacks from the ones that are set, and to judge when toattack and when to defend. You don't have too much of a say in a "Your

Page 7: Digimon World FAQ

Call" battle. As your Digimon's brains stat increases, you will begiven more options with which to battle your Digimon. At 100, yourDigimon will learn the "Attack" command. With this command, yourDigimon will attack the enemy constantly, and neglect to keep a safedistance or defend. This is best used against a slower or weakerenemy. At 200, your Digimon will learn "Moderate" and "Distance." Usethese to keep your Digimon moving, so that they won't be hit by closeup attacks. At 300, your Digimon will learn "Defend." This tells yourDigimon to stop attacking and focus on defending itself. This isuseful if you are trying to learn a new technique, because you want theenemy to use his attack on you. At 400, your Digimon should learn"Change." This tells your Digimon to attack a different enemy in amulti-enemy fight. Lastly, at 500 you gain control of your Digimon's attacks. The regular attack button disappears and you are given three new ones in itsplace. Each one may have a different symbol on it, but they are the attacksthat you have set. You may choose to tell your Digimon to only attack withthat one attack by selecting it. If you are not happy with this, thenreturn to "Your Call," and your Digimon will alternate attacks.

VII. DIGIMON WORLD TIPS

* Train often at training sites, but do not forget the importance ofbattles for your Digimon. Battles win you bits, items, and sometimesnew techniques for your Digimon.

* Watch your Digimon's weight carefully. It can be something that iseasily forgotten. I should know...my Kokatorimon never asked me forfood, and then when I checked his weight, he weighed only one pound!Keep your Digimon at a healthy weight: 30 for rookies, and 60 forchampions, although some ultimate Digimon like Giromon and MetalMamemon may require lighter weights.

* Try to expand your technique list as fast as you can. More techniquesmeans that it will be easier for you to digivolve later in the game.It also means that you will have more of a choice in what kind ofattacks your Digimon can perform.

* When raising a Digimon rookie, try to train it in only a few stats tosee what you get. Always raise your Digimon in HP and MP, but thenchoose a stat to work in. If you train an Agumon in defense, you willget a totally different Digimon than if you had trained in brains orspeed. This is the best way to expand your knowledge of the game andraise your tamer rank.

* Make few care mistakes! Always know where the closest toilet is, andalways have some food and recovery items handy just in case. You neverknow when you'll be lost and hungry, or stuck without a bathroomnearby! If it's a problem, try carrying portable potties with you onadventures.

* Talk to Yuramon, Tsunomon, Angemon, and read Shellmon's bulletin boardoften. These Digimon are here to help you if you are stuck in the gameand don't know where to go next.

* Be patient when trying to make ultimate Digimon. Most times, you haveto have insane stats for your Digimon to digivolve to ultimate. Takeyour time, learn techniques, and save any stat chips you might win. You'll definitely want them for your ultimate Digimon that battles in

Page 8: Digimon World FAQ

Mount Infinity. My first Metal Mamemon had stats of around 4000 HP andMP and 600 in all other stats when we tackled Mount Infinity, with somehelp from stat chips. Using stat chips can be helpful, because it canhelp your Digimon digivolve to ultimate when it is still 11 or 12 daysold, which will allow you to fight tougher opponents longer. My MetalMamemon made it through Mount Infinity both times with no problem, because he had digivolved early and was still young.

* Keep a steady amount of money coming in. You will always need a goodamount of money to properly care for your Digimon. This also meansbuying recovery items, extra food, portable potties, and auto pilotsjust to be safe. If you are having trouble keeping enough money, hereis a method to make tons of money fast. (Thanks to psychic_strata, whogave me the easy way to make money, instead of the crazy way I wasdoing it! ^_^ ) First, for this method you must either have a couplethousand dollars, or you must be very bored. You can get money one oftwo ways. First, go to the item shop and buy as many meats as youlike. Meat is only 50 bits each, so it won't cost you much. Next, goto Dragon Eye Lake and catch DigiAnchovies with your meat.Digianchovies are the smallest fish that are the closest to shore.Catch as many as you can, then go back to Birdramon's transport shopand have him take you to Freezeland. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN AUTOPILOTBEFORE YOU GO. IF NOT, YOU'LL BE SORRY! In Freezeland, go visit thesouthwestern Mojyamon on the ice flows. He will trade you a SuperSpeed Disk for every Digianchovy you have. Be careful! This Mojyamoncan get you caught in a glitch in the game. By trading with him, youwill get stuck there and won't be able to move. Don't worry aboutthat. Keep trading with him until all your fish are gone. When that'sdone, you don't have to worry about being stuck, because you can usethe autopilot to take you back to the city. If you don't have an autopilot, I'm predicting a reset happening pretty soon. ^_^ The secondmoney making method is based on the same idea, but uses DigiMushroomsinstead. Collect DigiMushrooms, and then take them to the southeasternMojyamon instead. He will trade you a Medium Recovery for eachmushroom you bring to him. Now, take the medium recoveries and visitthe southwestern Mojyamon. Trade him the medium recoveries for SuperDefense Disks. Now, with your Super Defense or Speed Disks, return toFile City and sell them at the Item Shop. Each disk can be sold for2,000 bits! This is a great way to make money, and inexpensive aswell. For example, if you buy 50 meats at 50 bits each, you pay 2500bits. If you then catch 50 Anchovies with your 50 meats, provided youare a good fisher, you can trade them for disks and sell them for 2000bits each. From your 50 disks, you will earn 100,000 bits. Subtractthe 2500 you paid for meat, and your total net profit is 97,500 bits. Not bad, huh? ^_^

VIII. ITEMS IN DIGIMON WORLD

As quoted from Ninjamon, who hangs out in the secret item shop.^_^ "There are 128 kinds of items in all. 32 are food. Rare itemsgrow naturally in some areas and can't be found in others. For example, you can find a blue apple in Native Forest. These foods have specialeffects, so be careful on the timing of eating them. Now, digivolutionitems. Digivolution items make Digimon digivolve, as the namesuggests. There are many different kinds of digivolution items. Eachkind causes Digimon to digivolve into different types of Digimon. Forexample, if you use Grey Claws, the Digimon will turn into Greymon.Digivolution items are items of legend and some are one of a kind. Butsometimes you don't get any bonus ability like during normal

Page 9: Digimon World FAQ

digivolution. Also, your happiness level goes down, so they're notperfect. At the same time, it's nice to digivolve into the kind ofDigimon you want to be. You can only digivolve from one generationbefore the Digimon you want to become, so be careful."

Here are some of items that can be found in Digimon World. Iwon't put up any of the digivolution items, because there are too manyto list.

X. RECRUITABLE DIGIMON WALKTHROUGH

Here it is. What you've all been waiting for! The walkthrough!Just as a note to beginners, this walkthrough goes through File

Page 13: Digimon World FAQ

Island's EASTERN path first. If you are a beginner, you want to startgoing through File Island's WESTERN path as soon as possible. I wrotethis walkthrough going through the east first, because in the beginningof the game, Mount Panorama and the Gear Savanna are blocked off. Ifyou are a beginner, here is the order you should read this walkthroughin.

File City, Native Forest, Tropical Jungle, Drill Tunnel, MountPanorama, Gear Savanna, Trash Mountain, Geko Swamp, Ancient DinoRegion, Overdell, Great Canyon, Misty Trees, Toy Town, Freezeland,Factorial Town, Mount Infinity, Beetle Land.

SECTION 1: FILE CITY

You wake up in File City, surrounded by numerous in-trainingDigimon and Jijimon. Jijimon will tell you your purpose in DigimonWorld: the Digimon of File Island have all left the city because ofsome mysterious force, and their world is in danger! As a talentedDigimon trainer, you must go out and explore File Island and convincethe once friendly Digimon to return to the File City. This will not bean easy task, so you are given your own rookie Digimon to assist you:either a Gabumon or an Agumon. When Jijimon is finished talking, youare then free to explore Digimon World to the best of your ability.

* You will not be able to survive without items. Talk to Tokomonin Jijimon's house, and he will give you enough items to get started onyour journey. * Talk to Tanemon, who is located a little north of Jijimon'shouse. Tanemon runs a meat farm, and will give you three pieces ofregular meat per day for your hungry Digimon. * Training is essential to your new rookie Digimon. Withoutsufficient training, your Digimon will not meet the specifications forchampion Digimon and may digivolve into the awful Numemon. You cantrain in Green Gym, which is located west of File City. You can alwaystrain as long as you want and anytime for free, but make sure yourDigimon doesn't exhaust himself!

Once you're satisfied with the training of your new Digimon, youcan then wander around Native Forest and the surrounding areas. NativeForest is located south of Green Gym, and west of File City's mainsquare.

SECTION 2: NATIVE FOREST

Native Forest is the best place for beginners to explore. Mostenemy Digimon have around 300 HP, and their attacks are not lethal, soit's a good training ground for young rookie Digimon. Be sure to fightModoki Betamon as often as possible, because they often drop sm.recovery, which you'll need to stock up on if you want to be able totravel farther in the game. Native Forest is home to six recruitableDigimon, but you'll only be able to find four of them early in thegame. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for Digimushrooms that appearrandomly on the forest floor; they make a good snack when your Digimonis hungry and you're short on food.

Recruitment Digimon! Upon entering Native Forest, you will meet upwith an Agumon who will battle you. You cannot escape this battle, andyou must defeat Agumon before you can enter Native Forest any deeper.

Page 14: Digimon World FAQ

Defeat Agumon and he will join the city, opening up a convenient shopto hold any extra items that you may have. Agumon can hold up to 100different kinds of items, which comes in very handy since you can onlycarry 10 different items with you at a time.

Recruitment Digimon! In Native Forest, you will find an area calledKunemon's bed which is located east of the Native Forest toilet. There, you will see Kunemon sitting on a large bush. What's theproblem? Kunemon's hungry! Feed him a food item from your inventory, and he will challenge you to a fight. Win, and Kunemon will join thecity. Kunemon has about 900 HP, so make sure that your Digimon hascomparable stats. When you win, Kunemon opens a new path in the city'smain square. When you return to the city and talk to Kunemon, he willtell you about eating through the bushes to make the path. This pathleads you to the Digital Bridge area, which is a lot easier thanwalking all the way around Native Forest and back up to get to thebridge!

Recruitment Digimon! Palmon is hiding in Native Forest. She saysshe's a flower. Find Palmon south of the Native Forest toilet. Shewill be facing away from you. Talk to her, and she will tell you thatshe is a flower. Keep talking to her until she fights you. Defeather, and Palmon will join the city and upgrade the meat farm for you, relieving a very happy Tanemon. Tanemon will now be found loungingaround in one of the planters, while Palmon runs the farm! Palmon willgive you three giant meats a day now, which should help feed those yourDigimon.

Recruitment Digimon! One of the most important Digimon you willencounter in the game's early stages is Coelamon. Talk to Yuramon andTsunomon, and they will tell you about a mysterious shadow that appearsat Coela Point each afternoon. Coela Point is the beach a couplescreens south of Digimon Bridge. Head to Coela Point during theafternoon, and talk to the shadow that is swimming close to the shore.A Coelamon should emerge from the water, allowing you to cross to theother shore. Cross to the other side, then go north, following theshore. By the time you get to the bridge, it should have beenrepaired, and you will then be able to cross at any time. Go back toCoela Point and talk to Coelamon, and he will join the city. Coelamonopens an item stand in the city square, where you can buy the itemssmall recovery, regular meat, and MP floppies.

Recruitment Digimon! To the east of Palmon's spot, you will find atree that has a door on it. The door tells you that no one's home andto go away, but of course you're curious! Come to this door after thedoor Mount Infinity has been opened, and you'll find a surprise waitingfor you in the tree! It's Etemon! Etemon does anywhere from 500-1000points of damage to your Digimon before the battle even starts, so beprepared! As an ultimate Digimon, Etemon has about 6000 HP. Afterdefeating him, Etemon will join the city, only to be kicked out by theother Digimon! You can find him sulking near the Digimon Bridge, butalso willing to sell you a Golden Banana, the Etemon digivolution item, for 50,000 bits.

Recruitment Digimon! The last Digimon of Native Forest isn't really inNative Forest, but rather is located near the Digimon Bridge. Ninjamonwill appear randomly during the night if you walk south past the Bridge. Hewillchallenge you to a battle, and if you can defeat him, he will join the city.Ninjamon hangs out in the secret item shop, and is always willing to give you

Page 15: Digimon World FAQ

information about items.

Well, now you're probably wondering, where do I go? And ifyou've seen Dragon Eye Lake, you're probably wondering how you catchthe fish. Well, all in time. You've only started. ^_^ Next up isthe Drill Tunnel and the Tropical Jungle! I'm going to put theTropical Jungle first because going through the Mangrove Region getsyou the item shop upgrade right away, but you can do the Drill Tunnelfirst if you'd like. Actually, you might find that you have toalternate between the Drill Tunnel and the Tropical Jungle, if you'dlike to save time.

SECTION 3: TROPICAL JUNGLE

To the east of Digital Bridge, you will find enemies that aremuch tougher than those in Native Forest. Hopefully you havedigivolved your rookie Digimon into a strong champion Digimon so youcan efficiently adventure through the jungle. Tropical Jungle'srecruitment Digimon are mostly Digimon that will upgrade currentlyrunning shops, but you can also find a helpful new shop withCentarumon.

Recruitment Digimon! Piximon can be found from time to time hoveringaround on the main screen of Tropical Jungle, south of the DigimonBridge. You can tell if you're on the right screen if there are twoMuchomon (during the daytime) or two J-Mojyamon (during the night), andif there are three directions to go from that screen. Spotting Piximonis very rare; I've been told that Piximon shows up at the same time every day,but that it is different in every game. Make sure that you pay attention towhat time of day it is if you see him, so that if you can't defeat him then youknow what time to return later. Thank you to everyone who e-mailed me and toldme about Piximon's daily routine, your help is much appreciated! When youfinally find him, Piximon is no easy battle! As an ultimate Digimon, he'stough to defeat; unless you've got a strong Digimon and effective techniques.Watch out for Piximon's confusion storm! Once you defeat Piximon, he appearsinthe Item shop from time to time, selling his training manual for a mere 50,000bits.

Recruitment Digimon! Betamon can be found in the east section of theTropical Jungle, near the Mangrove Region. To find Betamon, head eastin Piximon's screen to the small wooden bridge. Cross the bridge butdon't go to the next screen to the east. Instead, head north (up, notnorth towards Digimon Bridge) and you will come to an area with aModokiBetamon. Pass the ModokiBetamon up and head west, where you willfind Betamon. Talk to him and he will join the city. Betamon helps Coelamonatthe item shop, adding a few special items of his own.

Recruitment Digimon! Centarumon can be found in the Amida Forest, which can be found by heading east from the small wooden bridge andthen north from the screen with the readable sign. Centarumon isn'twelcoming to strangers in his forest, and if he spots you in the AmidaForest, he will shoot you. He halves your Digimon's HP with each shot, until your Digimon is left with only 1 HP. When your Digimon has only1 HP, you will be kicked out of the Amida Forest and forced to startall again. Your job is to head to the back of the Amida Forest, to findthe door that is marked with an O instead of an X. So what's the

Page 16: Digimon World FAQ

trick to getting past Centarumon? Well, one thing is, don't let himsee you! Centarumon can't see you if you hide behind the northern partof the small rows, and thus you won't get shot as often. If you do getshot, feed your Digimon a recovery floppy, so that he doesn't getinjured and thrown out of the forest. Once you do make it to the rowmarked with an O, Centarumon will greet you and join the city.Centarumon opens up a clinic in the city, selling medicine and healingyour monster's tiredness. He will also open the door to the AncientDino Region for you.

Recruitment Digimon! Perhaps you've heard from Tanemon about a strangeplant that grows somewhere in the Tropical Jungle. If you go to theplant, which is located north of Piximon's screen then east from theTropical Jungle toilet, you will find that the plant is dying ofthirst! Don't you hope it rains soon? If you can't solve the problemof helping the plant out, check near Tanemon's planter box on the 15thof the month. There will be a rain plant growing there, and you cantake it to use on the tiny plant. Once you use the rain plant, aVegiemon will grow from the tiny sprout! Vegiemon will join the city, and will take over Palmon's job at the meat farm. Vegiemon will nowgive you three sirloins a day and will allow you to buy hawk radishesand super carrots: items used for training. Unlike Palmon, Vegiemonwill not allow you to buy extra meat, so don't waste any sirloin!

Beyond the Tropical Jungle lies Overdell, Ancient Dino Region, and Great Canyon. You can explore these areas now if you'd like, orhead back and work with the Drimogemon in the Drill Tunnel. GreatCanyon is a good place to explore, and a good way to work for someextra money if you need it. Overdell might not be accessible to youyet, but it's always worth a visit. Ancient Dino Region is a goodplace to learn new fire and wind techniques, while also recruiting onenew Digimon.

SECTION 4: DRILL TUNNEL

To the west of Native Forest you will find the Drill Tunnel.Drimogemon live in the drill tunnel; you'll find three Drimogemonworking hard to dig a path to Mount Panorama. Today they're digging.Tomorrow they're digging. It's so fun. ^_^ Actually, for you it's notso fun. The Drimogemon are a bit slow, so you'll have to wait whilethey open up the tunnel to Mount Panorama. The good thing about theDrill Tunnel is that there are enemies, but that the enemies won'tchase you and they will only battle you if you bump into them. They'restationary Goburimon, so it shouldn't be a problem.

On the Drill Tunnel's second floor, cross the bridge to the westand talk to the Drimogemon there. He will battle you, so be prepared! This Drimogemon has about 1200 HP, which is still a reasonably easybattle for your Digimon. If you defeat him he will promise to work hardto finish the drill tunnel. Only, he's the cook and doesn't drill atall. ^_^ After defeating him, head out and go back over the bridge. To the south, you will find the third floor of the Drill Tunnel, wherea Drimogemon is happily digging. He tells you that it will take a longtime, so come back later. Wonder what he means? You can't do anythingmore with that Drimogemon, so head back to the screen with the threeGoburimon, then head east. You will find a Drimogemon digging, with alarge pile of dirt behind him. If you talk to him, he'll employ you tocarry dirt out of the tunnel, so that the digging can go faster. He'llpay you 500 bits for each trip you make, but be careful! You cannot

Page 17: Digimon World FAQ

leave the drill tunnel until you've dumped the dirt outside andreturned the dirt tray, so make sure your Digimon has everything thathe needs! Oh, by the way, there's no toilet in the Drill Tunnel, somake sure your Digimon has already gone before. You don't want to addto all the dirty stuff in the tunnel, do you? ^_^ After you're donehauling however much dirt you want to (you can haul one load or tenloads, it doesn't matter), you must leave the dirt tunnel and wait afew days for them to finish. A few days later, you'll find that theDrimogemon that you helped has opened the tunnel, but has found a bigrock blocking the entrance. Your Digimon can handle the rock, easilypushing it out of the way.

Recruitment Digimon! Behind the massive rock you will find the LavaCave. The Lava Cave is home to Meramon, the fiery Digimon. Meramon isangry about what is happening to Digimon World, and wants to stop it bydestroying all he can. When you interrupt him, he challenges you andyour Digimon to a battle. Meramon is an easy battle, and when youdefeat him, he will join the city. After you recruit Meramon, theNative Forest entrance to Mount Panorama is cleared and you are free toexplore there. Meramon joins the city as the resident chef; he opens arestaurant across from the item stand, and serves several meals thatraise your Digimon's stats. Note that your Digimon will only eat atthe restaurant if he's hungry, and will refuse the food if he's not.Restaurant meals can only be eaten then and there, and are not sold asitems to be carried with you.

After Meramon's gone from the Drill Tunnel, the lava river shouldbe gone and you should be able to walk around down in that area. Ifyou head north down in that moat-like area, you should happen upon afew DemiMeramon in the cave. The DemiMeramon are not hostile and willtalk to you, not fight you. At the end of the moat, you will find acouple of Item Computers. In the area with the DemiMeramon that talksabout cards, run along the eastern wall to find a hidden passagewaywith two Item Computers. These Item Computers hold a Brain Chip and aQuick Chip, helpful items at this point of the game. (Thanks topsychic_strata, who found this hidden area! ^_^ ) Besides the ItemComputers in the Drill Tunnel, there's nothing really left to find.Head south in the moat until you find the Drimogemon again. He'sdigging again, and talking to him informs you that he will be donesoon. Come back in a few days, and you will be free to run through toMount Panorama anytime you'd like.

Recruitment Digimon! Talk to the Drimogemon once he's done, and he'lljoin the city as its treasure hunter. Drimogemon will find youtreasure for either 1,000 or 5,000 bits. Give him 1,000 bits, andhewill search for five days. Return anytime after five days and hewill give you an item that he found. For 5,000 bits, he will go forten days. Generally, the 5,000 bit package will give you a betteritem, but sometimes Drimogemon brings back worthless items anyway, soit's all based on luck. When you go to pick up your item, make sureyou have an empty space in your inventory, otherwise Drimogemon willsay you have no room and will not even give you the item at anothertime!!! Be careful about that!

Now you're probably wondering about the Drimogemon on the thirdlevel. He's always digging, no matter how many times you come back!Well, he did tell you that it would be quite a long time, didn't he?This Drimogemon will not be done until your city's prosperity rating ishigher than 45. He stops digging because he finds a room where hebumps into an ancient tablet, with the word Leomon on it. Hmmm, what

Page 18: Digimon World FAQ

could it be for? ^_^

Recruitment Digimon! Ogremon has escaped from you twice already, running fromboth his Great Canyon and Secret Beach Cave hideouts. He's now taken over theDrill Tunnels, and once you enter he will challenge you to a battle. Defeathimthis last time, and he will tell you that he is sorry for what he has done.Ogremon will join the city; he patrols the city, keeping an eye out for anyshady looking characters.

Nanimon sighting! Once you recieve Leomon's tablet, return to the cave andlookto the left of where the tablet once was. You should find Nanimon hidingthere. If this is the first time you have seen Nanimon, he will drop the DigitalKeychain that will allow you to carry 20 items in your inventory. If this isthe fifth time that you are seeing Nanimon, then he will drop a second DigitalKeychain that will allow you to carry 30 items, and he will join the city!Nanimon can be found in five different areas on File Island, so if you'rehavingtrouble finding him, consult these sections: Great Canyon, Toy Town, AncientDino Region, and Factorial Town. To recruit him, you'll have to see him in allfive areas.

The Drill Tunnel is complete once you find the tablet, so there's notmuchreason to be in there after that! By the way, if you're stuck on how to getback into the Drill Tunnel instead of going through to Mount Panorama, whentheywant to know if you should run through, say no and you can enter the tunnelnormally.

SECTION 5: ANCIENT DINO REGION

Ancient Dino Region is a strange place. In the Glacial Zone, time moves slower than normal. In the Speedy Zone, time runs fasterthan normal. Ancient Dino Region is home to many dinosaur type Digimon(as you may have guessed ^_^ ) such as Monochromon types, Brachiomon, and Tyrannomon himself. Tyrannomon is the guardian of the doorways inAncient Dino Region, so to enter the region in the beginning, you willhave to battle him. To get to the Ancient Dino Region, go to the AmidaForest where you met Centarumon, and go through any one of the backentrances. You will find yourself in the Ancient Dino Region, ready toexplore!

Recruitment Digimon! Tyrannomon is the only recruitable Digimon in theAncient Dino Region. When you first enter the Ancient Dino Region, hewill challenge you to a fight. When you defeat him, he'll talk to youfor a bit, but then return to guard the doorway to the Ancient SpeedyZone. Find him at the doorway, and he will tell you about a mysteriousmeteorite that fell somewhere in the Speedy Zone. Tyrannomon will thenmove over, allowing you passage into the Speedy Zone. Be careful inthe Speedy Zone! Make sure your Digimon is young; you don't want himfading away right in the middle of your mission. Also, make sure youhave a good supply of food and a few portable potties, since yourDigimon will want items more often. When you first enter the SpeedyZone, head north. Keep heading north until you see one solitarySaberdramon (the black Birdramon), and battle him. Defeat him and hewill tell you that there is a hidden entrance in the previous screen.

Page 19: Digimon World FAQ

Return there, to the screen with the gigantic caging skeleton, and runalong the left wall. You should find a small passageway that will takeyou to the meteorite. Follow the path north, and you will find themeteorite huddled in a corner. Actually, it's a Meteormon, whichrecently fell from the sky. Once you finish talking to him, return toTyrannomon and tell him what happened. Tyrannomon's master will tellhim to help you out by joining the city, and Tyrannomon will take upresidence in Meramon's restaurant: cooking up burgers and other tastytreats.

Nanimon sighting! If you return to the Ancient Speedy Zone after speaking withTyrannomon, you will find Nanimon in the same spot where you found Meteormon. If this is the first time you have seen Nanimon, he will drop the DigitalKeychain that will allow you to carry 20 items in your inventory. If this isthe fifth time that you are seeing Nanimon, then he will drop a second DigitalKeychain that will allow you to carry 30 items, and he will join the city!Nanimon can be found in five different areas on File Island, so if you'rehavingtrouble finding him, consult these sections: Great Canyon, Toy Town, DrillTunnel, and Factorial Town. To recruit him, you'll have to see him in all fiveareas.

South of the entrance to the Speedy Zone, you will see aMonochromon and a Sabremon. These two are not recruitable, but arejust here to give you a bit of information. The Sabredramon tells youabout what he saw while flying around, and the Monochromon tells youthat he's not interested in joining the city. Instead, Monochromontells you about the Monochromon who owns the Great Canyon shop, whichyou can recruit. You may have already done this, but that's all hesays anyways. ^_^ Besides recruiting Tyrannomon and seeing Nanimon, there'snothing much to do in the Ancient Dino Region, so time to move on!

SECTION 6: OVERDELL

Heading back east again through the Tropical Jungle, you willfind Overdell. You may be able to tackle Overdell Cemetary's GreyLord's Mansion now, or you might not, depending on the type of Digimonthat you have with you. Once you enter the Overdell Region, you willnotice that there are a large amount of Darkrizamon patrolling thearea. The two guards in front of the cemetary gate are easy to get by,if you don't want to battle them. Move close to the Darkrizamon on theleft, then back away as he runs toward you. Run around him as he doeshis small patrol circle, then enter through the cemetary gate. Onceyou enter Overdell Cemetary, you will notice Tsukaimon and anoccassional Soulmon, which is a Bakemon with a black hat.

Recruitment Digimon! In Overdell Cemetary, you will find a Bakemonfloating around. Make sure that you talk to Bakemon and not Soulmon!Bakemon is NOT wearing a hat, like the Soulmon wear. Bakemon isn't toobright, as you can see, and he doesn't speak english. Talk to Bakemon, and he will ask you three questions. You must answer his questions yesor no, and if you get the right combination then he will join the city. If youwould actually like to know what Bakemon is asking you, bring your own Bakemonpartner Digimon along with you to Overdell. Your partner Bakemon will be ableto translate Bakemon's questions for you. If you're stumped about what theright combination is, try: Yes, Yes, No. Bakemon will then join the city, where

Page 20: Digimon World FAQ

he does absolutely nothing but float around the city square, and you stillcan'tunderstand him unless you have your own partner Bakemon. Bakke!? ^_^

After recruiting Bakemon, you will probably be curious about themansion in front of you. The Mansion is Grey Lord's Mansion, and yourDigimon will be allowed to enter only if he is a virus type Digimon.Examples of virus type Digimon are Numemon, Sukamon, Kuwagamon, MetalGreymon, Megadramon, and Devimon. If you are worried about taking aDigimon like Numemon or Sukamon into the mansion, don't worry becausethere aren't really any tough battles except for Skull Greymon, andthat's not for a while anyways. I took a Numemon through the mansion, and had no problems searching the mansion. However, I didn't take onSkull Greymon with a Numemon.

Once you enter the mansion, most of the doors will be locked. But just your luck! One door is unlocked! The door to the right ofthe stairs (lower level) is unlocked and ready for exploring. Notethat in the first room there is a toilet, just in case your Digimon hasto go. Go west through a couple rooms, then south where you enter theDining Room of the mansion. In the Dining Room, you can see a shinysparkle coming from the ashes in the fireplace. (Almost like a DragoonSpirit! ^_^ ) It is actually a key: the key to many of the doors inGrey Lord's Mansion. Search all of the rooms that you can open, because many of them have Item Computers that have a variety of statchips for your Digimon. In the room with the stairs, go up and youwill find two Item Computers, and two Rockmon. The Rockmon arehostile, so if you don't want a battle, don't try talking to them. They're not friendly. Head southeast past the Rockmon, to an areawhere the ground is like a metal caging. Walk around in the southeastcorner, and you should break the caging and fall into another room.

Head to the door to the north, and you will be in a room with acoffin. Inspect the coffin and you'll find that it is really a door toa hidden lab. Myotismon lies on the ground, weak from hunger. He'sbeen working so hard that he's forgotten to eat! Don't worry, thisMyotismon isn't like the one from the television series. He's a niceMyotismon. ^_^ Myotismon wants you to bring him some steak, which canbe found in the mansion's locked refrigerator. He gives you the key,and tells you to hurry. Return to the mansion's toilet room, thenenter the room to the west. The bluish door on the wall is therefrigerator. But when you finally get it open, the meat is gone!!!Maybe one of those suspicious looking Soulmon stole it. They give youa clue to "return to where the stupid one gave you points." What arethey talking about? Well, it seems that the Soulmon are a littlebitter. Bakemon is the "stupid" one they are talking about. Thepoints he gave you are the city's prosperity points, which you got whenhe joined the city. Exit the mansion through the front door, and youshould find the piece of steak outside on the ground. Pick it up andtake it back to Myotismon, who will thank you and explain his problem.Myotismon will NOT join the city, even though he says that his men willgo to the battle arena to stay sharp. Sorry to all of you who likeMyotismon. ^_^ But if you are looking to recruit a new Digimon, youranswer could be found in Myotismon's "secret research project."

Recruitment Digimon! Myotismon has been working on something funnybehind that force field locked door. But what is it? Well, to find out, readShellmon's bulletin board post about Myotismon being missing. Next, talk toAngemon in Jijimon's house, if you have Angemon, and he will tell you aboutsearching the mansion for clues. Return to Grey Lord's Mansion, and visit the

Page 21: Digimon World FAQ

dining hall room where Myotismon usually is. He's not there, so run upstairstohis office and enter the lab area where you first found Myotismon when he askedfor steak. He won't be there either, so run downstairs and try to leave themansion. When you do, Devimon should confront you. He won't fight you, butwhen he leaves the force field on the locked door is lifted, and you are freetoexplore the underground lab. Go through the door and down the elevator, andyouwill find yourself in a strange factory-like area. Pass the two circlingDarkrizamon and you will find yourself left with a choice. There are twodoors:one guarded by a solitary Tekkamon and one guarded by three Darkrizamon.Tekkamon's door is the correct one; if you try the Darkrizamon door, it'll be afake. Go through the correct door and you should find Myotismon lying in acaged area. Head north on the screen, and you should find yourself face tofacewith Skull Greymon, Myotismon's experiment! Fight Skull Greymon and defeathim, and he will disappear. Run back to Myotismon and help him up, and he willthankyou. Myotismon will now return to his spot in the dining hall, so leave theunderground lab area and visit him in the dining hall. His words are caught upin a glitch, so you can't really hear everything he has to say. Well, that'sitfor Grey Lord's Mansion! You're probably thinking, "wait, how do I recruitSkull Greymon?" Releasing Myotismon from the caged area automatically recruitsSkull Greymon, even though you don't get the happy little recruitment message.^_^

Now that Grey Lord's Mansion is complete, you may leave theOverdell area. Beware of the two Darkrizamon guards at the gate againif your Digimon is lacking life. If you want to avoid fighting them,as soon as you leave the cemetary grounds screen, hold down right onthe D-Pad and you should run right past them before they even knowwhat's going on. ^_^

SECTION 7: GREAT CANYON

Is it anything like the Grand Canyon? Well, I guess it could be,but don't think that there are any invisible bridges in the GrandCanyon, or else you might have a problem! Great Canyon is home to manyvarieties of enemy Digimon, as well as recruitment Digimon such asBirdramon, Shellmon, and Monochromon. You will also find a gang ofbandits in Great Canyon led by Ogremon; this gang lives on the canyonfloor and operates the two elevators found in this area.

Recruitment Digimon! Monochromon's shop is most likely the first thingyou'll see on your visit to Great Canyon. His shop is located rightnext to the Great Canyon toilet, and you are welcome to visit him atany time. Monochromon makes a deal with you. Business has been slowlately, so he employs you for eight hours to see how much you can sellto various Digimon customers. This is an excellent task to do ifyou're short on cash, but be warned! Eight hours is a lot of time tobe working for 500 or 1500 bits! But Monochromon's mini-game is funanyways, so the money doesn't really matter. Various customers willcome in during your eight hour shift and ask for items. Your job is tosell them their items for as much as you can, without making thecustomer upset. If you raise the price too high, they will leave and

Page 22: Digimon World FAQ

buy nothing. If you lower the price too much, the customer is happy, but you make little profit. To pass Monochromon's test, you must makea profit of more than 3,000 bits. Your total profit is shown to youafter each sale. Here are some tips on each customer and kind of item: * Customer Digimon will ask for regular meat, portable potties, and medicine. Medicine makes you the most profit, and meat makes youthe least. What they ask for is all chance. If you get more than twomedicine offers, then consider yourself lucky! * Meat should sell at around 55 bits, or 60 if possible. PortablePotties should sell for around 360 bits, or 390 bits at most. Medicineis more flexible. Medicine can easily be sold at 1300 bits, butsometimes Digimon will pay 1400 bits. * Gotsumon are the best customers. They are polite, and will payalmost anything you ask for. They're especially funny when they comein and say, "Man, I sure could use a portable potty!" Gotsumon mostlyask for portable potties. * Weedmon are the worst customers. They are rude and hate payinghigh prices. They want items for the original price or sometimes evenat below price. The good thing is that they usually ask for meat, soyou won't lose too much profit on these guys. * Muchomon are the last type of customer Digimon you'll encounter.Muchomon rarely come in, and when they do they will usually ask formedicine. Muchomon are wishy-washy and unpredictable. Sometimesthey'll pay a high price, and sometimes they will walk out on the firstoffer, even though it may be a reasonable one.

Once you sell more than 3,000 bits worth of items, Monochromonwill congratulate you and inform you that it was all a test to see ifyou were good enough to save the island. Monochromon will join thecity, and will take Betamon and Coelamon's place selling items. Onlythis time, Monochromon (or another item shop Digimon, if you alreadyhave one) will build a permanent Item Shop. The Item shop is the redbrick building in File City. The item shop sells much more of avariety than the item stand sold, which will help you out in the longrun.

Recruitment Digimon! Yuramon has heard rumors of a gang of banditsliving in Great Canyon that have been robbing anyone passing throughthat area. The gang is led by Ogremon, and mostly consists of rookieDigimon like Gabumon and Agumon. After hearing Yuramon's rumor, youwill be attacked by Ogremon and his assistants when you pass throughthe forked area east of Monochromon's shop. If you can defeat them, they will retreat to their hideout, which is located on the canyonfloor. You can't get there by the elevator, since Ogremon controls theelevators, but there is still a way. The forked road where Ogremonattacked you is the key to this. To the left of the forked road, youwill find that the ground is unstable. If you walk around on itenough, it will collapse and send you falling to the canyon floor. Youand your Digimon aren't hurt too bad, and you can now follow Ogremoninto his fortress. Ogremon's fortress is full of Agumon and a fewGabumon, easy battles for your Digimon. There are a few Item Computersin Ogremon's fortress, some with great items. In the back of Ogremon'sFortress, you'll find Ogremon himself. Battle him and his assistantsagain, and when he loses he'll escape. Ogremon also opens a back doorto his hideout, which you really should check for more items. Once youdo that, follow Ogremon up the elevator he escaped in. You won't findOgremon up there, but you will find Shellmon, who needs some help!Ogremon's recruitment will be continued in the Freezeland and DrillTunnel sections.

Page 23: Digimon World FAQ

Nanimon sighting! After you defeat Ogremon in his Fortress, you may randomlyfind Nanimon lounging around near the back elevator. If this is the first timeyou have seen Nanimon, he will drop the Digital Keychain that will allow you tocarry 20 items in your inventory. If this is the fifth time that you areseeingNanimon, then he will drop a second Digital Keychain that will allow you tocarry 30 items, and he will join the city! Nanimon can be found in fivedifferent areas on File Island, so if you're having trouble finding him, consultthese sections: Ancient Dino Region, Toy Town, Drill Tunnel, and FactorialTown. To recruit him, you'll have to see him in all five areas.

Recruitment Digimon! Shellmon is stuck and needs some help!Apparently, he was standing on the canyon top when suddenly the groundshifted, sending him high up in the air. Actually, you are the causeof Shellmon's misery. When you took the fortress elevator up, itshifted the canyon ground that was above it. Shellmon was on top ofit, and is now stuck. To find him, take Ogremon's elevator up from hisfortress. Now, go east over a bridge, and on the next screen you shouldencounter a Goburimon. Defeat him, and cross the bridge to the north. Shellmonshould speak to you from that point. To help him, take the elevator back down. You'll have to find another way to reach Shellmon now, and here's howto do it. Leave Ogremon's fortress and head east until you find themain elevator. Push up once, then on the next floor exit the elevator.Head northwest, towards the metal bridge. Cross over into Freezeland, but don't go to the next screen to the north. Instead, hang a leftpast the heater and cross the other metal bridge, similar to the oneyou just crossed. There you'll find Shellmon. Talk to him, and he'lljoin the city. Shellmon runs the city paper/bulletin board, which youcan read at anytime. It's a good place to find clues about where to gonext and what to do.

Recruitment Digimon! Birdramon awaits you in his nest at the top ofthe canyon. To get there, press up on the main elevator to go to thetop floor. If you're on the canyon floor, press up twice. When youget to the canyon's top, you will see a metal bird's nest. Walk to it,and Birdramon will attack you. Defeat him, and he will join the cityas a transport service. For a small fee, Birdramon will fly you to asection of the island that you have visited before. Birdra's Transportis a nice addition to your city, and allows you to go to any othersection of the island instantly. No time is taken off for usingBirdramon's Transport. But be careful!!! Carry an Auto Pilot with youjust in case you're in a hurry to get back; Birdramon only drops youoff, he doesn't return you to File City.

Beyond Great Canyon you can find Freezeland, home to DigimonWorld's icy Digimon. It's a good place to go if you're looking for newrecruitment Digimon, so check it out! Or if you haven't been to theAncient Dino Region, head back to the Tropical Jungle so that you canhelp Tyrannomon with his problem!

SECTION 8: FREEZELAND

Freezeland is the home of ice-based Digimon. Here you can findmany recruitable Digimon, as well as a profitable trading businesswhich will fill your pocket easily. Mind your Digimon though; someDigimon dislike the cold climate and can become sick if they stay in

Page 24: Digimon World FAQ

Freezeland too long. And being sick is not a good thing--or is it?

Recruitment Digimon! Angemon can be found in the Ice Sanctuary ofFreezeland, trapped as a statue. You can only enter the Ice Sanctuaryif your Digimon is of the vaccine type. I've never really had aproblem entering the Ice Sanctuary, because a majority of the DigimonI've had are vaccine. The Ice Sanctuary is located northwest of theFreezeland toilet. When you first enter the Ice Sanctuary, you willsee Angemon's glowing statue. Inspect the statue up close, and yourDigimon will alert you to a hidden passageway underneath it. Head downthe passageway, into a small hallway with Gotsumon and a blue Meramon. If you head north to the end of the hallway, you will find a trainingarea, but nothing else. The secret to the Ice Sanctuary is a hiddenpassage in the eastern wall of the main hallway. Near the Gotsumon, you will find a darkened portion of the wall on your right side. Walkagainst it, and you will find that it is really an open passage.Continue on through the passageway, where Gururumon and Hyogamonpatrol. Enter the next room, and you will find four teleportingdevices. Teleporting devices look like columns of light that haveblack pyramids within them. Be careful which teleporter you walk intothough! Only one of them is the correct one which will let youcontinue on your journey. The other three place you in random placesin the Ice Sanctuary: in front of the Ice Sanctuary, in the trainingarea, or back out with Angemon's statue. To save you some trouble, here's the answer. When you first enter the room with the teleporters, head to the east and use the first teleporter you see there. You willend up with more enemies to fight, but on the right path. In the nextroom that has transporters, take the northeastern transporter. Thistransporter will take you to the final room, where a Hyogamon and twoGotsumon will be waiting for you. Defeat all three, and you will beable to free Angemon's spirit, which you can find near the southernwall of the room. Once his spirit has left, leave the sanctuarybasement. The only important thing is that you have to come up fromthe stairs that your Digimon found underneath Angemon. Once you do,Angemon will greet you, and tell you about his plans for joining thecity. Angemon will join the city as Jijimon's assistant, and will giveyou information about where to look next for recruitment Digimon.

Recruitment Digimon! Penguinmon runs the local curling rink inFreezeland. You will find him in the small cave near the Mojyamon iceflows. The ice flows can be found if you head east two screens fromthe Freezeland toilet, then south one screen. That's fine, but what'scurling you ask? Curling might be the most addicting game in FileCity; that is, if you have enough fish to pay Penguinmon! Penguinmonwill explain it pretty thoroughly if you've never played before. Yourjob is to beat him at his own game, which isn't hard because thecomputer AI isn't too great at curling. Penguinmon will let you playthe first game for free, but if you lose, then you'll have to bringback a fish to play again. When you beat him at curling, Penguinmonwill join the city and set up a curling arena in the basement ofGreymon's Battle Arena. Penguinmon is a good way to stock up on itemsif you enjoy playing curling for long periods of time. For one fish,he will play a game with you. If you win, he will give you an item, such as a giant meat or an omnipotent. It doesn't matter what type offish you give him, so if you're in a hurry just snatch up someanchovies down by the lake.

Recruitment Digimon! Mojyamon inhabit the ice flows of Freezeland. They are traders by nature and will often give you expensive items for

Page 25: Digimon World FAQ

fairly cheap ones. There are three Mojyamons in Freezeland, eachasking for different items.

Southwestern Mojyamon Southern Mojyamon SoutherneasternMojyamon********************** ****************** ************************Omnipotent Giant Meat Happy MushroomMed. Recovery Speed Disk Digi MushroomDigiAnchovy Black Trout Super Carrot

As the game progresses, the Mojyamon in the southwest corner will becomeyour best friend, but make sure you always have an Auto Pilot with you! EachMojyamon asks for three different items, and if you can bring each of them allthree of their desired items, one of them will join the city. Make sure thatyou watch which Mojyamon you are trading with; when you finish trading, thelastone to recieve their three items will join the city, and you will not be abletotrade with him anymore. Make sure that you do not trade with the southwesternMojyamon last! He is the most important one! The southwestern Mojyamon willbeyour money maker. To trade with this Mojyamon for money, first bring with youan Auto Pilot, 99 med. recoveries, and 99 anchovies. (You don't have to bringboth, and you don't have to bring 99. Just bring as many as you can afford.)Talk to the southwestern Mojyamon, and trade him all of your med. recoveriesandanchovies. He will give you Super Speed and Defense Disks for your trouble. Becareful, because this Mojyamon traps you in a glitch, and you'll be stuck inthat spot after trading. Don't panic. Trade everything you need to trade withthe southwestern Mojyamon, then use the Auto Pilot to take you back to thecity.Take all the Disks that you got from the Mojyamon to the Item Shop, and sellthem for 2,000 bits a piece! For every 99 disks you trade, you'll get 198,000bits. Not bad, for med. recoveries that cost you 49,500 bits and anchoviesthatcost you 4950 for meat. Once you're done trading with all of the Mojyamons, thelast trader joins the city and opens up the secret item shop, located downthe stairs of the regular item shop. Mojyamon sells you recovery relateditems.

Recruitment Digimon! If you have defeated Ogremon in his fortress,Whamon will appear in the western corner of the ice flows. It seemsthat Ogremon has taken over Whamon's cave as his new hideout, whichWhamon is a little angry about. Choose to help him, and he will takeyou to the cave where Ogremon waits. Ogremon is accompanied by twoGabumon and an Airdramon, which you will have to battle. About theGabumon, you won't really need to worry. Ogremon's attacks hiteveryone, including his own comrades. They'll be passed out on thefloor before you even know what's going on. Once you defeat Ogremonand his pathetic crew, they'll run away like cowards and escape in asubmarine. They're headed for a new fortress: one last place to hide.Whamon is grateful to you for having restored his cave, but informs youthat everything you did was for nothing. Whamon was impressed by yourbravery, and wants to join the city instead of staying in his cave.Whamon ferries you back to Freezeland, then heads over to File City.Whamon serves as a second method of transport, taking you to his secretbeach cave and the port side of Factorial Town. When you get back to

Page 26: Digimon World FAQ

File City, ask Whamon to take you back to his beach cave. In the backof the cave, you'll find an Item Computer with a Mysty Egg in it:Digitamamon's digivolution item!

Recruitment Digimon! Shellmon's bulletin board tells about a Digimonthat rescues other Digimon from the cold. What does this have to dowith you? Well remember, some Digimon hate the cold. This includesfire Digimon, in-training, and baby forms. Baby and in-trainingDigimon simply haven't built up the strength to resist the cold yet.If you take a baby form Digimon with you to Freezeland, your Digimon may becomesick. If he does, your Digimon will faint from the sickness and Frigimon willsave you. Once he saves you, he tells you to be more careful with your Digimonin the cold. You can then visit Frigimon's house anytime you'd like. You tellFrigimon that you will digivolve your Digimon into a Digimon better suited forthe cold climate, and once you do, return and talk to Frigimon. He will jointhe city as the restaurant's ice cream vendor. ^_^ Frigimon doesn'texactly understand the concept of digivolving, but that's ok. Oh, forall you meanies out there who are going to purposefully take babyDigimon out into the cold, to make your Digimon sick you cannot let itsleep. You may feed it and take it to the bathroom, but no sleeping. And for those of you who have super-baby Digimon like psychic_strata,good luck in trying to make your Digimon sick! ^_^ One last note: yourDigimon cannot get sick from cold in the Ice Sanctuary. Sorry!

Recruitment Digimon! Garurumon patrols the westernmost corner ofFreezeland, south of Frigimon's house. If you talk to him, he willchallenge you to a battle. Defeat Garurumon, and he will accuse you ofcheating. Garurumon wants a fair fight: Digimon against Digimon.Garurumon's challenge is issued for four o'clock; I believe that you can findhim both at 4am and 4pm. If you come any later than four, Garurumon won't bethere. When you do get to battle Garurumon again, it's all up to your Digimon.Yup, that's right. No healing your Digimon! Make sure that your Digimon isstrong enough to take on Garurumon on its own. It's sort of like Greymon'stournaments, so it's not too bad. Upon defeating Garurumon a second time, hejoins the city and helps out at the restaurant.

Aside from the Mojyamon trading business, you won't have muchreason to visit Freezeland after recruiting all these Digimon.Garurumon's Freezeland screen can lead you to the Misty Trees area, butif you haven't gone through Mount Panorama, Gear Savanna, and GekoSwamp, it's a pretty bad idea to enter Misty Trees now. Head back toFile City so that you can explore the Mount Panorama area a little. ^_^

SECTION 9: FILE CITY II: INHABITED

File City will be much different than the last time that youvisited it. New Digimon have arrived and set up shops. Buildings havebeen built. Digimon roam the streets of File City, all thanks to you.Throughout time, you will find that almost every Digimon that yourecruit finds a place in the city. Here is a list of each recruitableDigimon and what they do in the city. Digimon marked with a (NRP)means that they serve no real purpose to the city, or a purpose isunnoticable.

WARNING! There are also two recruitment Digimon that will attackyou in File City! These Digimon are triggered by talking to Jijimon.

Recruitment Digimon! After talking to Jijimon when your city has a rating of12-15, you might encounter Greymon outside his house. Greymon will approachyou

Page 28: Digimon World FAQ

and ask you for a battle. If you win, he'll join the city and make a battlearena. If you lose, he wants that street sign. (What street sign?!) DefeatGreymon, and he will build his battle arena in the southeastern cornerof File City.

Recruitment Digimon! After Mount Infinity has been revealed, you willbe attacked by an Airdramon that seems to be brainwashed. Airdramonhits your Digimon before the battle even starts, so be prepared withrecovery items. Defeat Airdramon, and he will rest in Jijimon's house. After some time, Airdramon opens his own little business in Greymon'sbattle arena. Airdramon will tell you your fortune as well as yourDigimon's. He does this for free, and if he tells you that you havebad luck, don't take it to heart. His fortunes are random and don'treally mean anything.

SECTION 10: MOUNT PANORAMA

Mount Panorama is pretty much one giant circle. If it's early inthe game, you will only be able to access the Gear Savanna from MountPanorama. As the game progresses, the Drill Tunnel will open up andyou will be able to travel straight from the tunnel to Gear Savanna. But to get to Gear Savanna, you will have to pass through the Mountainfor now. There are three recruitable Digimon in Mount Panorama:Unimon, Vademon, and Mamemon.

Recruitment Digimon! You can't miss Unimon. He's the big metal headedunicorn that is lying on the ground when you first pass through MountPanorama. Poor Unimon's hurt his wing, and needs a sm. recovery fromyou. If you can spare one, or any other recovery item for that matter, Unimonwill feel better--enough to join File City! Unimon joins the Item Shop builtbyMonochromon, or if Unimon is your first Item Shop Digimon, he will build it.Unimon offers portable potties, an essential item for any Digimon trainer.Note:Unimon will not be accessible in Mount Panorama until you recruit Centarumon.

Recruitment Digimon! There have been rumors about a UFO being spottednear Mount Panorama. You can hear these rumors from Shellmon'sbulletin board. If you go to inspect the Mount Panorama area northeastof Unimon's screen, you will see odd cuts in the ground. You willcontinue to see these circles appear in this area, until you finallysee what is causing them. If you visit this area once in a while, there's a chance that you'll see Vademon in this area. When you talk to him,he'll join the city peacefully. WHEW! ^_^ Once you recruit Vademon, heappears once in a while in the File City Restaurant, cooking up several aliendishes.

Recruitment Digimon! Mamemon can be found north of the screen withVademon's circles, where Mud Frigimon frolic in the fields. Mamemonappears with a low frequency, but thankfully not as low as Piximon.Mamemon appears about once every twenty five or so times that you visitthe screen. If you'd like to find him, run back and forth from screento screen. Once you see Mamemon, he challenges you to a battle.Defeat him, and he will join the city. Mamemon works in the secretitem shop, selling super stat disks.

Mount Panorama's end is Gear Savanna's beginning. If you haven'topened the Drill Tunnel yet, it would be a good idea to start theDrimogemon on it now. It will provide you with a convenient shortcut

Page 29: Digimon World FAQ

from Native Forest to the entrance to Gear Savanna.

SECTION 11: GEAR SAVANNA

Like Mount Panorama, Gear Savanna is a giant circle. Here youwill find odd enemy Digimon such as the pink-bellied Psychemon and thezebra-striped Shima Unimon, as well as a new training center. Gear Savanna'sresident Digimon, Leomon, is the source of many Digimon World questions. GearSavanna is also home to the Secret Item Shop, which you can find from the 1sttothe 15th of every month.

If you don't have the card machine in the Item Shop yet, it would be agood idea to visit the Secret Item shop, which is located one screen north ofthe Gear Savanna entrance, then west. The Gear Savanna Item Shop sells andbuyscards mostly, but also has a side business of selling lost items. Yep, that'sright. When you lose a battle and are sent back to Jijimon's house, many timesyou lose an item to the Digimon who beat you. Well, the Gear Savanna Item Shopcan sell you back these items! If you lose something important, like GreyLord's Mansion Key or Seadramon's Blue Flute, be sure to check with the ItemShop when you can! Also, if you plan on visiting Geko Swamp soon, be sure tostock up on cards for the master card trader, Shogun Gekomon.

Recruitment Digimon! When you first enter Gear Savanna, head east and thennorth, and you will see a Patamon in trouble! You won't need to fight herethough, because Leomon will take care of the bad guy for you. Leomon thenleaves the scene, headed for the Gear Savanna training area. Talk to him, andhe will tell you that he is looking for something, and that he can't go withyouto the city until he finds it. You tell him that if you find it, you'll besureto let him know. So what is he looking for? Leomon is looking for hisancestors' sacred tablet, which can be found in the Drill Tunnel. Remember theDrimogemon on the third level who is always digging? "Today we're digging.Tomorrow we're digging. It's so fun." ^_^ When File City's prosperity ratingis above 45, this Drimogemon will finally be done digging! Visit him, and youwill notice that he has found a cave once used by Leomon's ancestors. Guesswhat? The tablet that Leomon has been looking for is in this cave. Retrieveit, then go back to Leomon. When you give him the tablet, he will join thecity. Leomon hangs out in Birdra Transport, but doesn't really serve a purposein File City.

Recruitment Digimon! Elecmon paces near a tree, north of Gear Savanna's mainentrance. Talk to him, and he will shock you, taking off some of yourDigimon'sHP. Talk to him again, and he'll shock you once more. Talk to him one lasttime, and he'll shock you again--but this time Elecmon notes how brave you arein approaching him. Elecmon then joins the city as its electrical supplier, andwill now reside in File City at night. He asks you if the light makes adifference to the city. Does it? ^_^

Recruitment Digimon! Patamon can be found east of Elecmon, bouncing around asusual. Patamon wants to battle you. Not once, not twice, but three times. After the third round, Patamon will finally acknowledge that he can't beat you,and you can tell him about joining the city. Patamon agrees, then joins thecity. Patamon joins Monochromon and Unimon in the Item Shop, and if by now youhave all three of these Item Shop Digimon, the card machine will appear in the

Page 30: Digimon World FAQ

Item Shop. Joy! ^_^

Recruitment Digimon! The last Item Shop Digimon is finally found! Biyomonsitssouth of Patamon, apparently doing nothing. Sounds like an easy recruitment, doesn't it? So what's the catch, you ask? When you talk to Biyomon, she runsfrom you. Continue to try talking to her, and she will run in a square-likepattern, always away from you. Trainer gives you a hint to solving this puzzlewhen he says that maybe you should wait there. He doesn't actually mean thatyou should wait there and not do anything with Biyomon. If you don't provokeBiyomon in any way, she won't move. What you need to do is find some way toprovoke Biyomon while also remaining in one place to catch her when she runs. How do you do this? Well, there are two of you, aren't there? Turn around andpress X to talk to your Digimon. This is pretty much the only time in the gamewhere you can actually talk to your own Digimon, which is pretty cool. Chooseto wait where you are, and your Digimon will then chase Biyomon towards you. When you finally have her cornered, you can speak with her. You won't have tofight her, and she will head toward the city peacefully. Biyomon is the lastDigimon of Gear Savanna, so be prepared to move on after recruiting her!

With Gear Savanna finished, you now have access to two areas: TrashMountain and Geko Swamp. If you haven't visited Trash Mountain yet, then makeit your priority to go there. Trash Mountain is where you will find your firstfishing rod, as well as a GREAT training area for MP. As for Geko Swamp, thereyou will find a, well, interesting trading business going on. Geko Swamp iswhere you can get your second fishing rod, which is essential for catchingSeadramon in Dragon Eye Lake. You probably have also seen the giant metal gatethat blocks entry into Factorial Town. As of now, you can only get intoFactorial Town by Whamon, and will have to wait until you solve FactorialTown'sproblems before the door opens.

SECTION 12: TRASH MOUNTAIN

Trash Mountain is home of the filth Digimon, Sukamon. The Sukamon areruled by the Sukamon King, who resides in the very back of the Dust Kingdom. The Sukamon King is a rather rude fellow if you don't have anything to discusswith him, but he may end up to be a good friend of yours if Sukamon is a commonpartner Digimon for you. There is only one recruitable Digimon in TrashMountain, and he is a rather useless one. But hey, it's still points, isn'tit?^_^

Recruitment Digimon! One of these Sukamon in Trash Mountain wants to join thecity. The problem is that you have to talk to this Sukamon FIRST if you wanthim to join the city. I've done it a couple times, and if you talk to anotherSukamon first, then the one that wants to go will not join the city. He sayshewants to go, but I never really see him there. If you want Sukamon to join thecity, talk to the last Sukamon before the Sukamon King. He's the one thatstands near the giant pile of "trash." He tells you that he wants to join thecity, and will show up there from time to time. Back in File City, Sukamonserves no real purpose. He sits in the bushes across from the toilet, andinforms you that he thinks the city is okay, but that he doesn't like thetoilet. ^_^ Maybe it's a little too clean for him around there.

When you talk to the southernmost Sukamon, he will tell you that he sawsomething in the trash piles that may interest you. If you look southwest ofwhere he is, you will see a stick-like item lying on the floor. Pick it up,

Page 31: Digimon World FAQ

andyou will have your first fishing rod! Guess it's time to head back to DragonEye Lake, huh? Oh, one more note about the Dust Kingdom and the Sukamon King.If your Digimon just happens to digivolve into a Sukamon, bring him to the Kingand he will change him back for you. Unless you like having a smelly filthDigimon, that is.

SECTION 13: DRAGON EYE LAKE

Once you have a fishing rod, you will have full access to Dragon EyeLake.Well, that is, if you have a good rod. There are two rods available in thegame: the worn-out rod and the amazing rod. Can you guess which of the two isbetter? The amazing rod will get you out farther, but the worn-out rod will dofine if you are just trying for anchovies, snapper, or black trout. Section 12will be about fishing with the worn-out rod, and the fish you can catch withit. If you are looking to catch bigger fish or Seadramon himself, you can find thatin Section 19: Dragon Eye Lake II.

The worn-out fishing rod that you obtained from Trash Mountain isn't toobad. It reaches far enough to get decent fish like the black trout, whichraises all of your Digimon's stats slightly. There are two places to fish inDragon Eye Lake: a northern shore and a southern shore. The northern shore canbe found by heading northwest from the Native Forest toilet; the southern shorecan be found by going one screen south of the Native Forest toilet, then westuntil you reach the shore. Here are the fish you can catch in each sectionwiththe worn-out rod.

If you don't have the time or energy to haul 99 Anchovies out of the lakeand take them to the Mojyamon for Super Disks, another alternative for makingmoney would be fishing. If you buy meat, then fish at the lake for BlackTrout, you can sell the Black Trout at the Item Shop for 500 bits each. Not bad, trading a 50 bit piece of meat for a 500 bit fish! Also, remember that if afish steals your bait, then if you reel in your line normally, it may getsnagged on an item like a restore or omnipotent!

If you're interested in finding Seadramon in Dragon Eye Lake, then it'stime to visit Geko Swamp to claim your amazing rod. You'll need it if you wantto catch Seadramon, the lake's guardian.

SECTION 14: GEKO SWAMP

Geko Swamp lies north of Gear Savanna. Yanmamon patrol the area duringthe day, while Gekomon wander through the swamp at night. Believe it or not, there is a purpose to Geko Swamp, which is only two screens in its entirety. While walking through the southern screen of Geko Swamp, you may encounterOtamamon, a blue tadpole-like Digimon. Otamamon appears about once out ofeveryfour times you visit his screen. Otamamon isn't the most polite Digimon, andyou'll be thrown into a battle with him before you even know what's going on.Defeat Otamamon, and you will find yourself in front of the leader of GekoSwamp: Shogun Gekomon himself! Shogun Gekomon gives you plenty of informationabout the Misty Trees area, which is north of Geko Swamp. Shogun Gekomon willalso help you out by casting a spell on you which will allow you to walkthroughthe mist, to reach the Misty Tree Guardian, Cherrymon.

If you didn't notice already, Shogun Gekomon is a huge dealer of cards. He will trade you points for cards, and then you can trade those points in foritems. What is even more interesting is Shogun Gekomon's items. ShogunGekomoncarries the amazing rod, which can be bought for 300 points, as well as manystat chips and digivolution items. Here is a list of items that Shogun Gekomonwill trade you for. A list of card point values can be found in the cardsection.

Item Points****** ********Sup. Recovery 20Sup. Restore 100Amazing Rod 300Offense Chip 800Defense Chip 800

Quick Chip 800Brain Chip 800HP Chip 800MP Chip 800Rainbow Horn 500Water Bottle 500Red Shell 500Hard Scale 500Ice Crystal 500

If you're looking to stash up tons of stat chips, here's a way to getthemfrom Shogun Gekomon without going totally broke. Buy 99 med. recoveries fromthe File City Item Shop, then buy cards from the card machine until you havenine of one of your 100 point cards. 100 point cards are Phoenixmon, HerculesKabuterimon, Mega Seadramon, Shogun Gekomon, and Myotismon. Don't buy any morecards after you have nine of one of these, because then it is just a waste of100 points. Take your cards, 99 med. recoveries, and an Auto Pilot with you toShogun Gekomon. Trade him your cards until you only have one of each kind. Youwant to save one of each kind because it makes it easier to pull 100 pointcardsfrom the machine. There is an exception for the common and bad cards though.Trade all of your cards below Penguinmon to Shogun Gekomon. Those are easycards to pull and you'll never have a problem finding them. Once you have onlyone of each card remaining, buy as many stat chips as you can with your points, then leave. Go north through Misty Trees and then on to Freezeland, to wherethe Mojyamon are. Trade the southwestern Mojyamon all of your med. recoveries, then use the auto pilot to return to the city when you finish. Sell the SuperDisks you got from the Mojyamon, and you will have more money to buy cards oritems. If you need more stat chips, repeat the cycle as many times as needed. It's a time consuming, but excellent way to get a massive amount of stat chips.Personally, I have 17 of every stat chip stocked in Agumon's item shop thankstothis little cycle. ^_^ Not to mention a fair amount of money!

Recruitment Digimon?! Well, I'm not too sure. A Gekomon standing near thefront entrance of Shogun Gekomon's room informs you that he would like to jointhe city. The game gives you the happy little message that Gekomon joins theArena, but does he really? I've never seen him there at all. I don't believethat Gekomon does anything because he isn't even at the Arena, but maybe it islike the Sukamon situation. Gekomon is not supposed to join the city. Butmaybe he does, if you miss Sukamon? Maybe he's like a backup to getting fullprosperity points.

SECTION 15: MISTY TREES

When you first enter Misty Trees, the mist in the area will be fairlythick, making it a little difficult to see enemies and routes. There are tworecruitment Digimon in Misty Trees, but they might be hard to see if you don'tget rid of that mist. To get rid of the fog, you must speak with Cherrymon, theguardian of Misty Trees. You can find Cherrymon in the northernmost section ofthe forest, blocking the entrance to Toy Town. To get to Cherrymon from GekoSwamp, go east one screen, then north three screens. Cherrymon should beblocking the northwestern path there. Talk to Cherrymon, and he should tellyouwhat made all of the island's Digimon lose their memories. Once he's done, he

Page 34: Digimon World FAQ

will remove the mist for you. Cherrymon is not a recruitable Digimon, but isactually a training area within himself. Cherrymon can train your Digimon inbrains and MP.

Recruitment Digimon! Once you're done with Cherrymon, you can look for therecruitment Digimon of Misty Trees. The first can be found by traveling northfrom the Geko Swamp entrance. You'll find a Gabumon hiding off to the left ofthe screen, behind a cliff-like area. When you speak to him, he'll challengeyou to a battle. After defeating Gabumon, he'll join the city because, well,he's bored and has nothing better to do. Gabumon joins Drimogemon in theTreasure Hunt Shop, but doesn't seem to have any real purpose there.

Recruitment Digimon! If you talk to Yuramon, he will tell you to walk in themist early in the mornings and something good will happen. If you travel twoscreens east of the Geko Swamp entrance, you may see a Kokatorimon if you visitbefore sunrise. The Kokatorimon usually appears anytime after 4am, butdisappears from the area when the sun rises. When you find Kokatorimon, hewillfight you. Defeat him, and Kokatorimon agrees to join the city. In File City,Kokatorimon creates several statues: one near the File City toilet, and theother in the city fountain.

With Cherrymon out of your way and the two Misty Trees Digimon recruited,it's time to move on to Toy Town. If you're running short on recovery itemsandfood, it might be a good idea to take a trip back to the city to stock up.

SECTION 16: TOY TOWN

Toy Town is virtually deserted. If you search the town, you'll findlittle more than a costume shop, a Robot House, and a mysterious closed offmansion. You may have visited the costume shop and seen Monzaemon, the teddybear Digimon. He sits on the couch, lifeless and still. Believe it or not,Monzaemon is the key to opening the giant mansion and saving Toy Town.

Recruitment Digimon! Yes, Monzaemon IS recruitable. How? Well first, you'regoing to have to wake him up. Trainer gives you a clue when your Digimonrefuses to climb into the Monzaemon costume, saying that your Digimon wouldhaveto be slippery to wear the costume. So, to put on the costume, you're going tohave to bring a slippery Digimon along with you. If you visit Shogun GekomoninVolume Villa, he will tell you to bring a Digimon like a Numemon along with youto see what happens. Once you raise a Numemon, return to Toy Town and visittheMonzaemon costume. When you touch the costume, it will fall over, leaving theback open for your Digimon. When your Numemon comes in contact with theMonzaemon costume, he will digivolve! It doesn't matter how old your Numemonis; the contact between Numemon and the costume causes your Numemon todigivolve. I brought a 6 day old Numemon to the Monzaemon costume, and hedigivolved then. Your Numemon will assimilate with the Monzaemon costume, andyou will now have a Monzaemon instead of a Numemon! Isn't that nice? ^_^

Now that you have a Monzaemon, take him to the Robot House. The Tinmonwill now greet you, and beg you to save their friend who was kidnapped byWaruMonzaemon. The Tinmon opens the door to the mansion for you, allowing youto find WaruMonzaemon. When you enter the mansion, you will find that therearethree floors with several enemies on each. You will also notice that there are

Page 35: Digimon World FAQ

three doors on each floor; only one door is correct on each level to advance tothe next floor. If you choose the wrong door your Digimon gets hit, taking offa good amount of HP. On the first floor, you will find three Toy Agumonguarding the doors. The Toy Agumon are avoidable, provided that you aretalented at avoiding enemy Digimon. On the second floor, you will find twoTankmon. The Tankmon are unavoidable, unless you are EXTREMELY TALENTED atgetting around enemies. The room is simply too small and the Tankmon too largefor you to escape them. The third floor has three more Toy Agumon, which areavoidable. In the last room, you will find two presents: one large and onesmall. Your job is to choose which one contains WaruMonzaemon. Obviously,WaruMonzaemon can't be as big as the larger present, so choose the small one. When you do, WaruMonzaemon jumps out of the box, ready for a fight. Defeathim, and he will promise not to cause any more trouble in Toy Town. He will giveyouback Hagurumon, who he kidnapped from the Robot House earlier. ReturnHagurumonto the Robot House, and the Tinmon will thank you for your help. At thispoint, the real Monzaemon will join File City, even though you never even got to meethim. Monzaemon will remain lifeless in Jijimon's house, hanging on a coat hookin the back of the house. Even though it seems like you should be able totraina new Numemon and use the costume again, it isn't possible. Monzaemon willremain lifeless for the rest of the game. As for Toy Town, it will be restoredand friendly Digimon will roam its streets.

Nanimon sighting! After you defeat WaruMonzaemon, return to the room where youfought him in the Toy Mansion. Nanimon should be there, and will run away fromyou as usual. If this is the first time you have seen Nanimon, he will droptheDigital Keychain that will allow you to carry 20 items in your inventory. Ifthis is the fifth time that you are seeing Nanimon, then he will drop a secondDigital Keychain that will allow you to carry 30 items, and he will join thecity! Nanimon can be found in five different areas on File Island, so ifyou'rehaving trouble finding him, consult these sections: Great Canyon, Ancient DinoRegion, Drill Tunnel, and Factorial Town. To recruit him, you'll have to seehim in all five areas.

In the new and improved Toy Town, you will find three friendly Digimon totalk with. The first is a Tankmon who will tell you about the Dragon EyeLake'sGuardian. The second is a Clear Agumon who wants three cards from you as atrade: WaruMonzaemon, Hagurumon, and Toy Agumon. In return, he will give youanX-bandage: Monzaemon's digivolution item. You can trade with this Clear Agumonas many times as you want, as long as you have the correct cards. The lastinhabitant of Toy Town is a Toy Agumon, who stands near the entrance to the ToyMansion. Toy Agumon tells you about curling, and tells you about getting aperfect score. Other than that, Toy Town is finished, and it's time to take avisit to Factorial Town.

SECTION 17: FACTORIAL TOWN

Factorial Town is also the source of many Digimon World questions. I'mnot sure why, but people seem to get stuck in Factorial Town. Factorial Townisthe home of mech Digimon, but something seems wrong in Factorial Town. You can

Page 36: Digimon World FAQ

enter Factorial Town initially by having Whamon carry you to the Factorial Towndocks, and once inside you will have to search hard to open the Gear Savannagate. Factorial Town has four recruitable Digimon: Numemon, Giromon, Andromon, and Metal Mamemon.

When you first enter Factorial Town, head east from the docks, then northfrom the main road. You will find yourself in a large area, with several enemyDigimon. (Guardromon and Platinum Sukamon by day, Guardromon and Geremon bynight.) You will see a manhole that is open at the top of this screen. Enterthe manhole, and you will find yourself in a sewer area. You will notice thatthere is a red fog in this area, and if you move one screen east you willnoticethat there is a Numemon there who is getting sick from the red mist. Leave thesewers and you will notice an open door a little south of you. This door isAndromon's control room, and he runs Factorial Town from here. Talk to him, andhe will tell you that you have no reason to be here, so that you must leave.Ignore him and leave his room, heading to the east. On the nest screen, youwill see two Guardromon guarding the door to the factory. You're going tohaveto find a way to sneak by both of them, but not fight them. Talk to the upperGuardromon, and he will tell you when the shift change times are. He will tellyou that the times are midnight and noon, so you must return then.

A little before noon or midnight, stake out in Andromon's room and waituntil a few minutes after twelve. Now, leave from Andromon's room and head towhere the two Guardromon blocked the door. They should be gone, and will begone for the rest of the game. Enter the factory area, and follow the path upto the two Guardromon who guard the next door. Be careful! There is a glitchif you run into the left Guardromon sometimes, so if you can't avoid them thenrun into the right Guardromon. After you're done with those two, don't forgetthe Item Computers that can be found to your left, across the black walkway.Next, enter the door and follow the walkway. There will be a door to yourLEFT,which is hard to see. Don't miss it! This is where you will find Giromon, thecause of Factorial Town's problems. Fight Giromon, and when you defeat him hewill drop to the ground, unconscious. Leave Giromon's room; if you would liketo, visit the northern room and visit the Item Computers there. Once you'redone, head back out to Andromon's room. Talk to Andromon, and he willapologizefor not listening to you earlier. He tells you about some information on hiscomputers that might be able to be saved, and that he will work on recoveringit.

Recruitment Digimon! Speak with the Numemon who lives in the sewers after youhave defeated Giromon. He'll have no memory of who you are, and decides hewants to battle you. Defeat him, and he'll join the city. Numemon works intheSecret Item shop, selling enemy repelling and enticing items. Thanks to all ofyou who e-mailed me and reminded me that I left Numemon out! Without him, thiswalkthrough could not be complete! ^_^

Recruitment Digimon! Andromon won't be done recovering the information for afew days, so leave and come back later. When Andromon is done with therecovery, he tells you about the island and about people who fought theDigimon. After Andromon is done, speak with him again and he will join File City.Andromon stands outside Birdra Transport from time to time, apparently servingno purpose.

Page 37: Digimon World FAQ

Recruitment Digimon! Giromon is still lounging in his room after the incident. He's getting a little better, and wants to join the city. Visit him and talktohim, and he will join the city. Giromon hangs out near the jukebox in FileCity's Restaurant, and takes requests to hear music. WARNING! Talking toGiromon in the restaurant will CRASH your Playstation, so be careful!

Recruitment Digimon! Metal Mamemon randomly appears in Factorial Town, on thescreen east of the Factorial Town docks. On the screen with a road shaped likea backwards L, you will notice that the usual enemies are missing. Instead, youwill find Metal Mamemon standing on the right side of the road. Apparentlyanother glitch, Metal Mamemon thinks he's Metal Greymon, and wants to fightyou.Defeat Metal Mamemon, and he will join the city as Metal Mamemon, not MetalGreymon. ^_^ Metal Mamemon appears in Penguinmon's curling rink after you beatPenguinmon with a perfect score of 10.

Nanimon sighting! After defeating the Numemon in the sewers, you can findNanimon hiding in the sewers on the same screen. If this is the first time youhave seen Nanimon, he will drop the Digital Keychain that will allow you tocarry 20 items in your inventory. If this is the fifth time that you areseeingNanimon, then he will drop a second Digital Keychain that will allow you tocarry 30 items, and he will join the city! Nanimon can be found in fivedifferent areas on File Island, so if you're having trouble finding him, consultthese sections: Great Canyon, Toy Town, Drill Tunnel, and Ancient Dino Region. To recruit him, you'll have to see him in all five areas.

There's nothing more to do in Factorial Town, or is there? Now thatyou're finished with Factorial Town, it might be a good idea to stock up onitems for the battle at Mount Infinity. By now, the entrance to Mount Infinityshould be opened and waiting for you.

SECTION 18: MOUNT INFINITY

Once File City has a prosperity rating of 50 or more, the entrance toMount Infinity will be available. Talk to Jijimon when you have 50 citypoints, and he will tell you about the entrance. When you leave Jijimon's house,Airdramon should attack you. After you defeat him, Jijimon tells you that thesource of all the island's problems needs to be eliminated as soon as possible. The only way that you'll find this source is to visit Mount Infinity, whoseentrance lies east of Drimogemon's Treasure Hunt Shop.

Mount Infinity has three recruitable Digimon for you to find the firsttime through, and one extra one after you beat the game. When you first enterMount Infinity, you will notice that there are tons of enemy Digimon lurking oneach floor. There are two types of enemy positions in Mount Infinity: enemyDigimon that chase you, and enemy Digimon that are stationary. Enemy Digimonthat are stationary usually block the entrance to the next floor, such as theVermilimon that you will encounter on the first floor. There are many kinds ofenemy Digimon in Mount Infinity, such as Rockmon, Vermilimon, Piddomon, andGururumon.

Green panels on each level take you to the next floor, while red panelsreturn you to the previous floor. To progress through Mount Infinity, go tothe

Page 38: Digimon World FAQ

green panel on each level. There are four levels where there are no enemyDigimon roaming, and these are the boss levels. Boss levels are simplebattles;you fight the boss Digimon, then he joins the city. The first boss you willencounter is Devimon. Once you defeat Devimon, he will join the city and workin the Secret Item Shop, selling Devil Chips. The next boss you will find isMegadramon. Megadramon doesn't attack you, and won't unless you choose tofighthim. Battle and defeat him, and Megadramon will join the city. Megadramonstands outside of Greymon's Battle Arena, and may fight in some arenatournaments.

When you notice a change in your surroundings, you will know that you areclose to the end. Metal Greymon waits for you in the first corridor. Defeathim, and he will join the city, opening a rather useless booth in Greymon'sbattle arena. Pass through Greymon's area and you will find yourself in themain boss room. Here you will meed Analogman, a human who believes thatDigimonshould be slaves to people. Analogman has his own partner Digimon:MachineDramon! Isn't that unfair? Analogman gets to use one of the DarkMasters, and the highest you can train is up to ultimate. Totally unfair. ^_^Machinedramon isn't too tough of a battle, but has a high HP meter. Count onhis HP being close to the max 9999. When you defeat Machinedramon, Analogmanwill try to escape, but your Digimon friends will stop him. Airdramon willsaveyou, and return you to File City. The game ends here: or does it? You willseethe game's ending, but when the ending is over, reload the game. You will beable to continue your game, to collect any recruitable Digimon you may havemissed earlier. Also, in the movie sequence, Mamemon informs you thatAnalogmanis back, and that you have to defeat him. Note that after beating the game,Machinedramon will become accessible in two player mode. Cool, huh?

If your Digimon is still strong and healthy after the MachineDramonbattle, check your supplies and head into the Mount Infinity entrance again. Gothrough the entire dungeon as you did the first time, but this time there willonly be one boss Digimon at the end. When you finally reach Analogman's room, you will notice a Digitama sitting in the middle of the room. What could itbe?Inspect it and you will find that it is Digitamamon, the egg Digimon. DefeatDigitamamon, and he will join the city. Digitamamon will show up from time totime in the File City restaurant, cooking up dishes made with eggs. ^_^

If you are completely finished with Mount Infinity and are looking forsomewhere new to visit, try Dragon Eye Lake and Beetle Land. Beetle Land canonly be accessed by Seadramon initially, so it's time to catch the LakeGuardianand ask him for help.

SECTION 19: DRAGON EYE LAKE II: BEETLE LAND

Now that you have the amazing rod from Shogun Gekomon, you will be abletofish for the larger fish of Dragon Eye Lake. Among them you will find theCatfish which makes your Digimon completely full, the Sea Bass which refills HPand MP while also extending life, and the Lake Guardian himself, Seadramon.

Page 39: Digimon World FAQ

With your amazing rod, you can catch these big fish with ease. Theamazing rod is both stronger and able to withstand pressure from larger fish.Sea Bass prefer Black Trout or Catfish as bait, while Catfish like moldy meatand Sirloin. But you're not really here to catch bass and catfish, are you? You're looking for the big fish: Seadramon.

This is the most asked about section of Digimon World. Everyone wants toknow how to get Seadramon's Blue Flute from the lake. Well, here are somethings you need to do first to prepare yourself for Seadramon.

* Talk to the Tankmon in Toy Town who speaks about the Lake Guardian and whenheappears. This will tell you that Seadramon shows up in the mornings andafternoons in the southern end of the lake.

* Talk to Angemon in Jijimon's house to see if he says anything about the LakeGuardian.

* Read Shellmon's bulletin board post about the Lake Guardian.

After you have done all three of these, head down to Dragon Eye Lake.Seadramon swims in the southern end of the lake, and you will find him there inthe mornings and afternoons. Seadramon likes regular meat as bait, but I'mpretty sure that he eats almost anything. If you don't see Seadramon therewhenyou arrive, leave the screen then come back and you should find him.

Seadramon is easy to spot in Dragon Eye Lake. He's the gigantic shadowthat swims in an S like pattern, patroling the lake. To speak with him, you'llhave to catch him like an ordinary fish. The best spot to throw your line tocatch Seadramon is between the shadows of the tallest pole, and the bucket thatsits in the water in front of you. Put your line right in Seadramon's path, andhe should take the bait. When he does, reel him in. After you catchSeadramon, you will get to speak with him. You will have three choices in what to say toSeadramon. It doesn't matter if you ask him for the blue flute first or not, because if you ask him for other things first, it might be more beneficial.

* If you ask Seadramon for an item, you will recieve the Water Bottle:Seadramon's digivolution item. You can ask him for it more than once.

* If you ask Seadramon to teach you a technique, he will teach you a water/icetechnique that you don't know yet. You can ask him for it more than once.

* If you ask Seadramon to be your friend, he will give you the blue flute. Whenyou use the blue flute, Seadramon is summoned to take you to Beetle Land, thehome of bug Digimon.

You can catch Seadramon as many times as you'd like, as long as it isstill morning or afternoon. After you catch Seadramon and ask him forsomething, he'll swim away and the lake will be empty. You won't be able tofish with the lake like that, so leave the lake screen and then come back. Thelake will be full of fish again, and Seadramon should be on patrol. Catch himagain, and ask for something else. When Seadramon won't give you any newtechniques and you have a water bottle or two, catch Seadramon and ask him tobeyour friend. He will give you the blue flute and you will be free to travelback and forth from Dragon Eye Lake to Beetle Land.

Page 40: Digimon World FAQ

SECTION 20: BEETLE LAND

Beetle Land is the home of bug Digimon. There's not much to do hereotherthan training or fighting in the tournament, but it is a new place to visit. When you first arrive in Beetle Land, you will notice a new enemy Digimon thatyou couldn't find on the main part of the island. It's Tentomon! ^_^ WhileTentomon is not an available partner Digimon, it's nice that he does make hisappearance both as an enemy Digimon and at the Tournament registration desk. While you're here, there are also two recruitment Digimon to find: KuwagamonandKabuterimon.

Recruitment Digimon! There are several Kabuterimon in the gym area to therightof Tentomon's registration table. Talk to them, and the Kabuterimon in thebackwill ask you a question about the city. Kabuterimon will ask where you train, and when you reply at an Arena, he joins the city. Anyways, after you recruitKabuterimon, he moves to the Green Gym area, where he revises all of thetraining equipment. From then on, when you train, your stat gains will beslightly higher than before.

Recruitment Digimon! There are also several Kuwagamon to be found in BeetleLand, in the gym area to the left of the registration table. The Kuwagamon inthe back wants to know a good way to beat Kabuterimon in battling. If youanswer him saying that there is a sure fire way, he will join the city.Kuwagamon joins Kabuterimon in Green Gym, upgrading the gym for the final time.Stat gains will be slightly raised again.

Beetle Land is famous for the bug tournament that is held on the 22nd ofeach month, whose prize is a Beetle Pearl: H-K's digivolution item. If youwould like to register for the tournament, speak with Tentomon, who runs theregistration table. If you speak to him on any other day, he'll just informyouthat they're in between tournaments and that he's bored. Oh, another thingabout participating in the bug tournament: you need a bug-type Digimon tocompete. This means Kunemon, Kabuterimon, Kuwagamon, or Hercules Kabuterimon.Although I don't see why you'd enter the tournament with a Kunemon. ^_^ Well, onsecond thought, it might be funny if a Kunemon won the tournament.

SECTION 21: THE BACK DIMENSION

Just when you thought the game was over! The Back Dimension can be foundin one of the few dungeon-like areas of the game, and I believe that it israndom for each game. The Back Dimension looks exactly like Mount Infinity, andis overrun with enemy Digimon. You'll encounter Piddomon, Tekkamon, Tankmon,IceDevimon, and Blue Meramon here. When you first enter, you'll also find theRay Gun: Vademon's digivolution item.

Your first step will be to find where the Back Dimension is located inyour game. Check the Ice Sanctuary, Ogre's Fortress, and Grey Lord's Mansiontofind it. The good thing is, if the area you are in is the Back Dimension, then

Page 41: Digimon World FAQ

types will be ignored. For instance, I entered the Back Dimension in the IceSanctuary Area with a Megadramon, even though he is a virus type that wouldn'tusually be allowed in the Ice Sanctuary. The Back Dimension cancels out theeffect of type specific places such as the Ice Sanctuary and Grey Lord'sMansion. Once you enter the Back Dimension, you will find yourself in an areathat looks like Mount Infinity. Things are a little backward here, so you'renot always looking for the green level transporter. Pay attention to whatcolortransporter you start at, then head to the opposite color. When you reach thethird level, make your way through the floor and you should find yourself infront of the last transporter. This transporter will take you to the boss, somake sure that you're good and ready before you go! When you get to the boss, there's no turning back or running away. Always be prepared!

You will know when you are in the boss room when the screen says the nameof the regular area instead of Back Dimension. Let's say that you went throughthe Ice Sanctuary area. You will be back in what looks like a room in the IceSanctuary, but Analogman and Machinedramon stand before you. But wait!Analogman disappears! Unfortunately for you, Machinedramon does not.Machinedramon challenges you to a battle; this battle is longer and harder thanany battle you've had before in the game, so be careful! It's notMachinedramon's attacks that are irritating, it's more his super defense. Makesure that your Digimon has a decent offense rating before you battleMachinedramon. I first fought Machinedramon with a Megadramon that had about600 offense, who used the attacks DG Dimension, Metal Splinter, and PulseLaser.Whenever Megadramon attacked with DG Dimension, it would hit Machinedramon foronly about 100 hit points. Pretty pathetic, when you consider thatMachinedramon has close to 9999 HP to start with. How do you defeat him? Watchyour Digimon's HP and MP levels closely so that he's never knocked out andneverlow on MP. Next, make sure that your Digimon is constantly attackingMachinedramon. Machinedramon's so fast that it would be impossible to switchfrom offense to defense in between his attacks. His attacks can hit you foranywhere from 600-1700 HP, depending on your defense stat. Also, watch out forhis special attack, which can do 2000+ damage to your Digimon's HP. Last, keepan eye on your Digimon's "finish" meter. When it's full, be sure to use it!Just be careful not to get hit while your Digimon is charging up. MyMegadramonhit for 100 HP with DG Dimension, but with his finishing move he hit for 600HP.This can be very helpful in what is otherwise a long and tiring battle.

Once you defeat Machinedramon, you'll find that he isn't reallyMachinedramon. He's a fake! It was just another enemy Digimon who was made tolook like Machinedramon. But why? After the Machinedramon dedigivolves intothe regular enemy Digimon, you will be transported back to Jijimon's house.Jijimon will congratulate you on defeating Machinedramon, and give you a chainmelon. How nice of him! ^_^ Guillaume tells me that you can talk to Jijimonevery 25 days, and that you can run the Back Dimension over again. So doesthisgame really have an end? Stay tuned to find out, on the next Digimon World:same Digimon time, same Digimon channel!

Page 42: Digimon World FAQ

This is where you can ask me questions! I answer questions forseveral Digimon websites, most notably digital-monsters.com. I answer50-70 questions about Digimon World a day, and these are the most askedquestions. If you have a question of your own, feel free to e-mail it [email protected], and if it hasn't already been answered itwill be posted on this FAQ. *******************Answers*******************

1. I just started a new game of Digimon World. Why is Jijimon askingme questions? Jijimon will ask you a series of questions, and by your answershe will choose a partner digimon for you. Based on your answers, hewill give you either an Agumon or a Gabumon to start.

2. My Digimon is telling me he's hungry, and I have nothing to feedhim. What do I do?

Page 43: Digimon World FAQ

Your Digimon will often tell you it is hungry. Talk to Tanemonin File City, who has a meat farm a little north of Jijimon's house. She will give you three pieces of meat a day for your hungry Digimon. You may also find additional pieces of meat fighting Goburimon orTsukaimon, inhabitants of the Native Forest. Also, sometimes in theNative Forest, you may find a Digital Mushroom on the ground, which youcan feed to your Digimon.

3. My item window is empty, and there doesn't seem to be a store. What do I do? Talk to Tokomon in Jijimon's house. He will give you just enoughitems to get started. You can then fight enemy Digimon in the NativeForest, such as the ModokiBetamon who will sometimes drop the veryimportant sm. recovery disk. If you are really strapped for items, make it a point to recruit Coelamon at Coela Point, and he will open upa small item stand for you.

4. How long will my Digimon usually live? Your Digimon will go through 5 life stages (hopefully.) Itsfirst life stage, the baby stage, will last only a few hours. It willthen digivolve into an in-training Digimon, such as Koromon orTsunomon. Your Digimon will remain as an in-training Digimon until itis a little over a day old, then will become a rookie Digimon. RookieDigimon then digivolve into champion Digimon when they are about 4 or 5days old, based on its stats and how well you care for it. The lastform your Digimon will reach is the Ultimate stage. If your Digimon'sstats are high enough, or if you have satisfied other requirements fortechniques, your Digimon may become an Ultimate any time after it is 11days old. Champion Digimon live until they are about 15-18 days old, while Ultimate Digimon live until they are 18-20 days old.

5. I fought Agumon and defeated him, and my rookie or champion Digimonis strong enough for me to explore now. What do I do? If you are confident in your Digimon's abilities, take time toexplore the Native Forest and surrounding areas. In the Native Forest, you will find Kunemon and Palmon, two very important additions to yourcity! Also, be sure to check out Coela Point for a dark shape in thewater. If you're ever in doubt about where to go, ask Yuramon, whostands outside Agumon's item shop from time to time, or ask Tsunomon, who's always bouncing around in the middle of the city's square (thearea that looks like a computer chip.)

6. What are the most important Digimon to recruit for my new city? With your new city, you will want to recruit Palmon and Coelamonas soon as possible. Palmon takes over the meat farm, and gives youthree giant meats a day, which satisfy your hungry Digimon better thanTanemon's regular meat. Coelamon provides a badly needed item shop, essential for any adventure or trip out of the city.

7. My Digimon was beaten badly in a fight and needs to be healed, but Idon't have any recovery items! What can I do? You can always heal your Digimon in Jijimon's house. Talk toPunimon, who is sitting in the chair on the right side of the house, and he will let you rest for an hour, which restores some HP and MP.

8. Help! I don't want a Numemon! Or if I don't have a Numemon, myDigimon seems to be digivolving to the same champion Digimon all thetime. How can I fix this? If you are getting a Numemon, it could be one of three problems.First, you may have made too many care mistakes on your Digimon. If

Page 44: Digimon World FAQ

that's not it, check your Digimon's weight. Most rookies need to be at30 before they can digivolve to a decent champion Digimon. If it's notthe weight, then the problem is that your Digimon's stats are too low.Any problems in these three areas can cause your Digimon to digivolveinto a Numemon type Digimon. As for a Digimon who always Digivolvesinto the same champion Digimon, it is as simple as what stats you trainyour Digimon in. For example, if you train an Agumon heavily inDefense, it is most likely that he will become a Tyrannomon. If youtrain the same Agumon heavily in Brains, it will become a Centarumon. And if you train it evenly all around, it will most likely become aGreymon. When it comes to acquiring different champion Digimon, becreative and try new stat combinations to see what you get.

9. Can I get all of the Digimon from the television series? What if Iwant a Gatomon or a Gomamon? Sorry! In Digimon World, several different digidestined Digimonhave been left out. Tentomon, Gomamon, and Gatomon will not appear inthe game. Neither will Motimon, MegaKabuterimon, Bukamon, Ikkakumon,Zudomon, Salamon, Togemon, Lillymon, or Angewomon. You will, however, findKabuterimon and Hercules Kabuterimon, the champion and mega forms of Tentomon:in Digimon World, Hercules Kabuterimon is the ultimate form forKabuterimon. You may find some of these Digimon as characters in thegame, such as Tentomon in Beetle Land, but they cannot be used aspartner Digimon.

10. I've just defeated [insert Digimon name here]. How come I can'task it to come to the city? Most likely, what you have defeated was an enemy Digimon, not arecruitable Digimon. You can spot most enemy Digimon easily: they looklike the recruitable Digimon, but they are odd colors. For example, the recruitable Gabumon looks exactly like the Gabumon from thetelevision series. He has a blue fur coat and a yellow bodyunderneath. In Gear Savanna, you will often encounter Psychemon, whichlook like Gabumon except for the fact that they have pink bodiesinstead of yellow. Psychemon are not recruitable: they are just thereto battle you when you bump into them. Gabumon, on the other hand, is.Always pay attention to what you're battling!

11. Where do I get the Digimon cards? Once you recruit three of the large item shop Digimon, the cardvending machine should appear in the item shop. The item shop Digimonare Patamon, Unimon, Monochromon, and Biyomon. Also, you can buy cardsfrom the special shop in the Gear Savanna, found only from the first tothe fifteenth of each month.

12. In the player menu, there is a spot for medals. What are thosefor? Where can you get those medals? Medals show any milestones you've reached during the game. Theseinclude having 999,999 bits, catching 100 fish, collecting all of theDigimon cards, and finishing the game. There are 16 medals in all.

13. What is the item Leomon wants? Where can I find it? Leomon wants his ancestors' sacred tablet, but you will not beable to find the tablet until your city's prosperity rating is higherthan 45.

14. Who are the main role characters you can play with? There is only one human character in this game! You are a boywho has been sucked into Digimon World to help save File Island. Theboy doesn't really have a set name, because it is whatever you type

Page 45: Digimon World FAQ

your name in as. You do, however, have another character with you:your Digimon!

15. I want a Gabumon! Why can't I get my Tsunomon to digivolve toGabumon? I know why you're confused. In the television series, Tsunomonbecomes Gabumon. This isn't true in Digimon World. I tried to get aGabumon with a Tsunomon, and ended up with a Penguinmon instead! ^_^ Toget a Gabumon, train a Koromon in defense and speed, the opposite ofAgumon's offense and brains.

16. My happiness meter started blinking. It goes from a yellow happyface to a blue sad face. What does that mean? A blinking happiness meter means that there is something wrongwith your Digimon. It may be weakened by the outside environment, andis trying to tell you with the meter. For example, fire Digimon have ahorrible time when visiting Freezeland. Stay there too long, and yourDigimon may get sick. I have also observed another status related tothe happiness bar. You can tell if your Digimon is suffering from this statusif there is a fly or butterfly whizzing around his head. This is a bad statustohave, because your Digimon will lose some of his stat points when the butterflymakes a circle around him. I have recieved some e-mails that say that you cancure this status by standing on one of the many outlets you can find on theground, but I haven't tested this so I don't know for sure.

17. Can you tell me any cheat codes for this game? Nope! I don't cheat and I don't own a game shark, so don't askme about cheats. If you want to cheat in a game, why do you need myhelp? This FAQ is for people who want to play the game throughthemselves but need a little push in the right direction.

18. Can I get life hearts back? No. Once a life heart is gone, it's gone. There's no way to getit back. So be careful and mind your Digimon's HP!

19. Where and when can I save? You can save when your Digimon sleeps, and also in Jijimon'shouse with the red digivice. If you save with the Digivice, you mustsay yes to saving, but no to saving for battle card data.

XII. ENEMY DIGIMON

Here is a list of enemy Digimon. I realize that the list is notentirely complete, but I'll be updating it often. I just forget someof the names of these things. ^_^ Plus, it's hard to watch whatDigimon teach what attacks. I added all attacks that I have noted thatthese enemy Digimon use the most, and that are learnable. Itemsclassified as very rare mean that I have only gotten them once or twicein my whole time of game playing.

XIV. DIGIMON WORLD GLITCHES

Didn't think that my FAQ was so complete as to even have a glitchlist? Well, it is and it does! This is the glitch section of DigimonWorld. You know, sometimes glitches are funny. A person may bewalking around in the air, or may say something wrong by mistake. Someglitches in Digimon World are funny, but there are many that can bemore IRRITATING than funny. Here are all the glitches thatpsychic_strata and I have been able to find in the game, with a littlenote if the glitch is harmless or harmful. If you know of any otherglitches, harmful or otherwise, please email me at [email protected] andlet me know! Thanks!

Glitch #1: When you continue your saved game, you notice that yourDigimon has a couple extra mon's. For example, a Patamon may be readas Patamonnmon on the game load screen. This glitch is harmless and iskind of funny, but unfixable. It doesn't harm your Digimon's name onhis status screen at all.

Glitch #2: When you go to Agumon's Item Bank, switching from storeditems to in-hand items makes it so that some items get "rubbed out" onthe screen. You may only be able to see half of the name of an item,or nothing at all. This glitch is harmless and can be fixed byscrolling down and then up again on the item menu.

Glitch #3: When you talk to Giromon in the File City Restaurant, hetells you about the jukebox and asks if you would like to make arequest for music. What you don't know is that Giromon is really anevil, ruthless Digimon planning on killing your Playstation! Okay, notreally, but having Giromon play music on the jukebox will eventuallyfreeze your game. It's not funny if you have been playing the game fora long period of time without saving, and then Giromon goes and crashesyour system. This glitch is VERY HARMFUL and the moral of the storyis, don't play with Giromon! This is not a once in a lifetimeoccurence. I've talked to Giromon five times and he's frozen my systemall five times. The same thing has happened to psychic_strata. Sodon't think I'm lying or that you have a better Playstation than me,because it has happened to other people. Just don't play with Giromon, unless you've saved before going to him. I guarantee it'll crash. Why, I don't know. But it does.

Glitch #4: The money making Mojyamon is really a trap? That's what itseems like. The southwestern Mojyamon will trade you 2,000 bit Disksin return for 500 bit med. recoveries, but at a price. When you tradewith this Mojyamon, he likes to move around a little. Eventually, you

Page 52: Digimon World FAQ

get stuck, and there's no getting away from the Mojyamon. Or is there?ALWAYS CARRY AN AUTO PILOT WITH YOU! I can't stress that point enough.Even if you do get stuck with the Mojyamon, an Auto Pilot can save theday. It's a whole lot better than restarting your game, isn't it?Trust me, once the Mojyamon locks you in, there's only one way ofgetting out. That's the Auto Pilot. This glitch is HARMFUL only if youdon't heed my warnings and carry an Auto Pilot with you at all times.Oh, and there is a funny thing about this glitch. Trade with theMojyamon enough, and eventually you should see the Mojyamon thatusually sits in the middle come dancing towards you. The glitch withthe southwestern Mojyamon does something to the middle one which makeshim dance on the water, apparently going no where. Funny, huh? ^_^

Glitch #5: In Factorial Town, you will find a glitch much like theMojyamon glitch. Inside the factory area (where you had to sneak pastthe two Guardromon during the shift change) you will find twoGuardromon blocking your path to a door. Just so you can know yoursurroundings, there is a black platform to the left that leads to twoItem Computers. Anyways, the left Guardromon will be the glitch foryou. If you bump into him, then you will run to a section of thescreen to shout out orders to your Digimon like you usually do. Sowhat's the problem? The section of the screen you are standing on is apart of the background! You can't walk on a part of the background! You'll be stuck there, with no way out UNLESS YOU HAVE AN AUTO PILOT!Be wise and always keep an Auto Pilot with you! In order to avoid thisglitch, you're going to have to approach the right Guardromon. Goodluck avoiding the glitch!

Glitch #6: Thanks to Guillaume, we now have a glitch that can tell you whatmedals you are missing! For it to work, you must have the top left medal, whichis winning the D, C, B, S, and S tournaments at the Arena. Once you have it,enter the medal chart and place your cursor (yellow square) on a medal that youdon't have. Now, press triangle twice to return to the main menu. Highlight"Digimon" and press X to see your Digimon's stats. As soon as you see yourDigimon's picture, press triangle to exit back to the main menu. Highlight"Player" and press X. Press right twice to highlight "medals" and press X. Nowyou will be able to see both the name and the requirements for the absent medalthat you highlighted in the first step! Thanks again, Guillaume! This glitchisn't harmful, since it's not going to freeze your game or anything.

Glitch #7: Thanks to everyone who e-mailed me about the card glitch, especiallyPARAPPA66 who gave me the specific directions for it. WARNING! Before you trythis glitch, make sure you save. This glitch is harmful, and may freeze yourgame, so be prepared! To see this glitch, you need to have at least oneDigimoncard. Go to the card screen and select a card to bring up its enlargedpicture. Now, quickly hit triangle, X, and triangle, and the card should be there. Keephitting the triangle button, and the card will be frozen on the screen! Youcanstill play and walk around with the card's picture on the screen. PARAPPA66also says that you can bring up the Digivolution charts in the menu, and thatitwill show you some completed charts. I've tried this but haven't been able tosee complete Digivolution charts, just random ones that don't make sense. Also, the digivolution charts may freeze your game.

Page 53: Digimon World FAQ

Glitch #8: You can find a harmful glitch in Grey Lord's Mansion, afterdefeatingSkull Greymon. When you defeat Skull Greymon and Myotismon returns to hisplacein the dining hall, you will be able to access this glitch. If you return tothe caged area where Myotismon and Bakemon were being held, then enter thearea, your game will freeze. It's happened to me every time I've tried it, and ithappened to neosigma_2000, so I'm confirming it as a glitch. Thanks toneosigma_2000 for being my tester and double checking it for me. Your help isgreatly appreciated! ^_^ There's no way out of this freeze, so if you getcaught in it, be prepared to reset!

Glitch #9: Once you save Myotismon from Skull Greymon, you will find himsittingin the dining hall of Grey Lord's Mansion. Myotismon proceeds to tell youabouthis research, or does he? Thanks to a glitch, a chunk of Myotismon's words arelost, and we have no idea what he's saying. Guillaume has given us histranslation, uh....I mean guess, on the subject. ^_^ Guillaume's guesses areplaced in CAPS: "My research shows that sometimes, when Metal Greymon fadesaway, he WILL DIGIVOLVE TO SKULL GREYMON. It's the same thing for Bakemon,Devimon, and Phoenixmon, although we don't know who they were at birth. Thedigivolution charts don't say." These Digimon can digivolve to Skull Greymonwith a certain probability, only if they lose a life heart. This is what itmeans by "fading away."

Glitch #10: It seems that in some places, enemy Digimon seem to attack you, butthen a glitch strikes. Some enemy Digimon may just keep running into you andsaying the same thing, like the Blue Meramon in the Back Dimension. Others maytrap you in one spot, leaving you unable to move. I've also heard one persone-mail me and tell me that they got stuck up on an Agumon's head somehow. What'sthe best way out of these glitches? Well, for the Digimon that keep runninginto you, try pressing and holding the D-pad away from them while pressing X toacknowledge what they say. Usually you should be able to break away. If thatdoesn't work, and for the ones that leave you unable to move, use an Auto Pilotto return to the city. If all else fails, the reset button is your friend. ^_^This glitch also includes the third clear Agumon in the Toy Mansion, the one onthe left who keeps talking to you.

Glitch #11: Want to see something funny? Take a Digimon who can use DGDimension to Toy Town, and enter the Toy Mansion. When you fight Tankmon orToyAgumon on one of the upper floors, make sure that your Digimon uses DGDimension. When he does, the question-mark doors should disappear, revealingthree sets of stairs. This doesn't really have any point to it, it's just kindof funny that the doors keep disappearing.

XV. DIGIMON CARD LIST BY PSYCHIC_STRATA

Thanks to psychic_strata, we have a complete Digimon card list topost! I could have done it myself, but it was awfully nice ofpsychic_strata to write it all out. It saves me a lot of trouble, since the rest of this FAQ is insanely long, and is a ton of work towrite. Thanks psychic_strata, the Digimon Master! ^_^ I'm also addingthe card point value when you trade it to Shogun Gekomon, and the monetaryvalue
