What Is Digestion System? Digestion is the complex process of turning the food

you eat into the energy you need to survive. The digestion process also involves creating waste to be eliminated.

The digestive tract (or gut) is a long twisting tube that starts at the mouth, and ends at the anus. It is made up of a series of muscles that coordinate the movement of food, and other cells that produce enzymes and hormones to aid in the breakdown of food. Along the way are three other organs that are needed for digestion: the liver, gallbladder, and the pancreas.

Medical ProceduresLavage

What is a Lavage procedure? The lavage procedure has many different medical names; Gastric lavage, stomach pumping, and gastric irrigation pump, is the process of cleaning out the contents of the stomach. It has been used for eliminating poisons from the stomach. Such devices are normally used on a person who has ingested a poison, or a self inflicted overdosed with drugs, or alcohol. They may also be used before surgery, to clear the contents of the digestive tract before it is opened.

F.Y.I

My career is that I'm a Emergency Room Technician, and I have used this device many times, especially for people who had over-dose. This particular procedure could ONLY be preformed within 10-15 min of indigestion.
