It would be help us in future in understanding the process of large banking sector at how they maintain their daily work such as customer maintained, users facility, delivery process, improvement etc.
Database systems are designed to manage large bodies of information. Management of data involves both defining structures for storage information and providing mechanisms for the manipulation of information. In addition, the database system must ensure the safety of the information stored, despite system crashes or attempts at unauthorized access. If data are to be shared among several users, the system must avoid possible anomalous results.
Some fields of it’s application are mentioned below-
1. • Banking2. • Airlines3. • Universities4. • Telecommunication5. • Human Resources
Our vision is to show the different applications of database software used in banking sector of Bangladesh. So in our finding we have tried to show the deviation among those software.

Background Study:
Definition of Database Management System (DBMS) :
A DBMS is a complex set of software programs that controls the organization,
storage and retrieval of data in a database
A collection of programs that enables you to store, modify, and extract information from a database. There are many different types of DBMSs, ranging from small systems that run on personal computers to huge systems that run on mainframes.
Some Commercial Database Management Systems:
1. Microsoft SQL Server
2. Oracle – Oracle 8i, Oracle9i, Oracle 10g
3. MySQL
4. IBM DB2/DB2UDB
5. Informix
6. Sybase
7. Postgre SQL
Database Application:
The following are examples of Database Applications: o computerized library systems o automated teller machines o flight reservation systems o computerized parts inventory systems
3
Database Types:
There are two main types of database; flat-file and relational. Which is the best one to use for a particular job will depend on factors such as the type and the amount of data to be processed; not to mention how frequently it will be used.
1. Flat-File
2. Database Management (DBM)
3. Relational Model
4. Database Comparisons
Database Administrator (DBA)
Coordinates all the activities of the database system; the database administrator has a good understanding of the enterprise’s information resources and needs. Database administrator's duties include:
Schema definition
Storage structure and access method definition
Schema and physical organization modification
EAIAcronym for enterprise application integration. EAI is the unrestricted sharing of data and business processes throughout the networked applications or data sources in an organization. Early software
There are four major categories of EAI:
Database linking: databases share information and duplicate information as needed.
Application linking: the enterprise shares business processes and data between two or more applications.
Data warehousing: data is extracted from a variety of data sources and channeled into a specific database for analysis.
Common virtual system: the pinnacle of EAI; all aspects of enterprise computing are tied together so that they appear as a unified application
4
Data dictionary:
In database management systems, a file that defines the basic organization of a database. A data dictionary contains a list of all files in the database, the number of records in each file, and the names and types of each field. Most database management systems keep the data dictionary hidden from users to prevent them from accidentally destroying its contents.
Data dictionaries do not contain any actual data from the database, only bookkeeping information for managing it. Without a data dictionary, however, a database management system cannot access data from the database.
ETL
Short for extract, transform, load, three database functions that are combined into one tool to pull data out of one database and place it into another database.
Extract -- the process of reading data from a database. Transform -- the process of converting the extracted data from its previous form
into the form it needs to be in so that it can be placed into another database. Transformation occurs by using rules or lookup tables or by combining the data with other data.
Load -- the process of writing the data into the target database.
ETL is used to migrate data from one database to another, to form data marts and data warehouses and also to convert databases from one format or type to another.
Entity-Relationship ModelEntity
An entity is a “thing” or “object” in the real world that is distinguishable from all other objects. An entity may be concrete, such as a person or a book, or it may be abstract, such as loan, or a holiday, or a concept
RelationshipA relationship is an association among several entities. A depositor relationship associates a customer with each account that he or she has.

Short Description of DBMS:
A DBMS is a complex set of software programs that controls the organization, storage and retrieval of data in a database.
A DBMS includes:
A modeling language to define the schema(relational model) of each database hosted in the DBMS, according to the DBMS data model. The three most common organizations are the hierarchical, network and relational models. A database management system may provide one, two or all three methods. Inverted lists and other methods are also used. The most suitable structure depends on the application and on the transaction rate and the number of inquiries that will be made.
Data structures (fields, records and files) optimized to deal with very large amounts of data stored on a permanent data storage device (which implies very slow access compared to volatile main memory).
A database query language and report writer to allow users to interactively interrogate the database, analyses its data and update it according to the users privileges on data.
A transaction mechanism, that ideally would guarantee the ACID properties, in order to ensure data integrity, despite concurrent user accesses (concurrency control), and faults (fault tolerance).
