Teachersʼ pay and conditions of service are part of the universal entitlement of all children and young people to be taught by those who are recognised and rewarded as highly skilled professionals and who have conditions of service that enable them to focus on their core role of teaching and learning and raising standards.

The failure to ensure that teachers receive their current contractual entitlements and its plans for adverse changes to teachersʼ pay and pensions will directly impact on standards of education.
