This is called an intertitlewhich is part of a trailer convention. This type of intertitle has been used to enable its audience to believe that this trailer is based on a true story which provokes their interest in watching the movie.

The use of the dark lighting/ night vision is part of the trailer’s mise en scene which creates uneasiness to its audience. The quick capture of this woman also creates an enigma.

Usually, trailers edit institutional logos to fit the genre of the movie. This logo on the other hand has not been edited but shows consistency by using the same colour scheme (Black and White). Colour black means the lack of colour which also connotes the idea of the unknown/ unseen.

The use of a noise texture pattern suggests that their is no channel/ connectivity. This connotes the idea of the movie being a documentary which creates realism. It also uses a non-diegetic sound of a disturbing noise which connotes chaos and mystery.

The News report of the past murder event has been used as a proof to its audience to make them believe that thisevent did happen in real life which builds tension.

They have used a birds eye view of Rome. Rome is considered as a holy and religious city where a majority of people expects it to be a safe place. The movie on the other hand does not portray this which is going against the typical beliefs of people which creates an enigma to its audience.

This scene shows the point of equilibrium where everything is balanced; normal.

This scene shows the point of realisation where characters in the movie has realised that a disruption has occurred.

This scene shows the disruption of equilibrium where the normality of the situation has been disrupted by an event; the woman screaming at her daughter.

This scene shows the attempt to repair the damage of the disruption.

Intertitles like these are used to create enigma to its audience. The symbol of the anti christhas been used at the back of the intertitlewhich connotes the idea of evil and darkness involved in the film.

The title of the movie has also been edited. The letter ‘D’ has been flipped to the opposite direction which connotes the idea of their world being turned upside down.
