Development Of Sixth Form

These are the two best images I captured. I chose to have my model centre of the shot, so that the reader could see her clearly. She is wearing her lanyard, to clearly show she is part of this sixth form. She is wearing full dress-code to demonstrate the best of the outward image of the sixth form. She is also holding a conventional folder to show the academic side of the magazine.
I chose this image for my magazine, as it shows the models face more clearly, and the background is straighter which makes the image look more professional, and easer to look at.
I chose an academic style font, to further show the academic side of the magazine. The white stood out well against the background...
.. And the green showcases the school colours, which would help the students reading it make the immediate connection between the magazine and the school. This one stood out more, I I have decided to use it. I also added bevel and emboss so that is stands out even more.
I edited my models face a little, to correct some blemishes, but it was very minimal, as we want the target audience, the students, to relate to the model on the front.
BeforeAfter
This is one of the potential fonts for my front cover. It is clear, easy to read, which is essential. However, it is quite plain, which could put the reader off.
This font, though clear, is plain, and looks like something a teacher would use instead of a student.
This font is funky, easy to read, and looks like it was written on a chalkboard, which has academic connotations. This is the font I will use.
I added a banner at the bottom of the page to add some extra information, and adds to the convention of having banners on the front of other sixth form magazines.. I also added the school logo, to establish even further that this is a school magazine.
Here is the finished product. Overall I think that it fits the criteria well.
