STUDIO LAURA DAZADesign collection 2015/16

Studio Laura Daza is a multi-disciplinary studio. We design, direct and experiment with di-verse areas; colour and mate-riality from nature which are translated into creative and sustainable design products. Our design practice wants to merge craft with tradition; sci-ence and alchemy; archaeol-ogy with sustainability to criti-cally question our relationship with the environment.

Burnt sienna collection explores a colour making technique by heat-ing yellow ochre, which magically transforms into a series of reddish shades and is translated onto con-temporary objects such as textiles and home accessories.

Based on ancient rituals of colour alchemy, the collection focuses on translating colour through objects and capturing these striking natu-ral particles through unique mar-bled surfaces.

A collection of bespoke platters, vessels, cups and fabrics was craft-ed, which mixes recycled paper and handcrafted colouring matter.
