DepthInsight® geomodeling software products possess unparalleled geological modeling ability to process various complex geological structures, which lays a solid foundation for achieving reliability of kinds of specialty analysis and simulations in fields of geological exploration and oil and gas production.

The full suite of DepthInsight® geomodeling software products includes structural modeling, velocity and attribute modeling, reservoir modeling, paleo-structural restoration, geomechanics analysis and Enourmos Modeling.

Ⅱ. DepthInsight® Express Edition 2015

With functions of structural modeling and outputting grid, Depthinsight® Express Edition 2015 is to solve problems of modeling complex structures in various specialty analysis and calculations.

It’s able to model a variety of complex geological structures including massive complex faults, unconformity, salt dome and so on in a high-efficient, easy-to-use and easy-to-update way.

it also has plenty of methods to visualize data and models, for example retrieve structural profile at any position to do spatial analysis and verification in real time.

After building a structural model, it can output stair-step grid with RESQML file which could be import into other software to do various specialty analysis and calculation, such as all kinds of analysis and calculation in reservoir modeling.

Note: RESQML is an industry-defined data exchange standard released by Energistics.

Based on the functional modules (structural modeling and grid output) of the express edition, the professional edition is added with functional modules of structural interpretation, velocity modeling, attribute modeling, reservoir modeling and numerical simulation grid, and practical tools to generate maps and profiles and manage well data.

Users can finish an integrative workflow from structural model to reservoir simulation with it.

First, based on original data, efficiently generate 3D high-resolution models without any simplification.

Based on the structural model, build a velocity field with a comprehensive application of well and seismic data to achieve a water-tight and consistent conversion between time and depth domain.

Based on the 3D structural model of depth domain, by creating high-resolution truncated-grid and using well log data, and seismic data, reservoir model could be built with deterministic and stochastic simulation algorithms, such as Kriging, Distance Weighted Algorithms, Sequential Indicator Simulation (SISIM), Sequential Gaussian Simulation (SGSIM), Facies Control and co- Simulation.

Possess functions to pre and post process reservoir simulation model. Based on reservoir model, it can scale up properties and export simulation grid, such as PEBI and stair-step grid, which could be used in many reservoir simulators.

Support different automatic mapping functions which are based on structural and reservoir models.

Attribute models like velocity model can be exported in SEGY format to be used in forward modeling and reversion.

There is no need for additional editing operations but a direct converting of structural model to get the computational grid with finite element method. Then make a direct FE calculation of geomechanics after defining the distribution of media properties of each stratigraphic fault block, load and other boundary conditions. In this way, it can support various application requirements of geomechanics analysis of any complex geological structural block.

Based on the structural model, it can offer a stand-alone paleo-structural restoration environment. Geologists can verify their geological understandings through the structural restoration and give more reasonable interpretation data which follows geological principles to a large extent. Through a constant correction of understandings with the trial of structural restoration, the data value could be maximized.

Based on Kinematic and Geomechanics, there is a variety of tools, such as Inclined Shear, Trishear, Fault Parallel Flow, Denudation Recovery, Unfolding and Horizon Flattening.

Support multi users to model concurrently and build a basin-scale or extra large-scale model with high resolution, which could meet the challenge of building such big models under stand-alone environment.

Support update of any part of the enormous model, and the whole model can always keep consistency in terms of geometry and topology structures, which means it is an organic whole instead of a simple collection of some separate models.

We encapsulated all of our advanced geological structural modeling technologies into a software development kit, through which clients could achieve powerful ability to model geological structures and analyze and search geological space, for example: model various complex geological structures and generate models and grids for different applications. With it, clients could focus on the targeted algorithms and workflow for developing software applied in the industry of petroleum geology in the development process.

Ⅶ. Software Development Kit

Except DepthInsight® geomodeling software, the SDK has been successfully embedded into GeoEast which is an integrated seismic data processing and interpretation system independently developed by BGP and enables it with great geological modeling ability. Within our company, the SDK is used for our client’s reservoir projects and collaboration in research and development. Therefore, through practice, it proves to be easy-to-use and integrated.

Ⅶ. Software Development Kit

The SDK is written in C++ and could be used in Windows and Linux platform. The geological modeling algorithms and procedure are encapsulated in an object-oriented way. The high-level object can be manipulated through interface and the management and organization of all kinds of underlying objects aremaintained within the SDK. In this way, it ensures the SDK to be easy-to-use and easy-to-encapsulate. Therefore, it not only guarantees that users can possess powerful modeling ability and complete spatial information, but also simplifies the complexity to use the interface and reduces users’ burden.

Ⅶ. Software Development Kit

At present, the SDK of DepthInsight® geomodeling software has full functional interfaces to model complex structures, for example support to define model boundary and geological conceptual model, model faults and horizons, generate zones and retrieve geological spatial information. In addition, other interfaces are under development and will be encapsulated into the SDK, which supports model-based analysis and calculation, for example: generate stair-step or truncated geological grid and reservoir simulation grid.

In order to be easy-to-use, except the document Specification of SDK Interface, we also provide the source code of 3D geological modeling sample program developed based on the SDK and its relevant documents.

Ⅶ. Software Development Kit

The sample program is written in C++, and the interface and graphs use QT and OSG respectively. It relatively fully presents the process of building and using structural models with DepthInsight® SDK interface. Through reading the demo program, users who do development based on the SDK can easily make their self-developed software have ability to model complex structures.

GridWorld provides training course of SDK development and also SDK integrated development service.
