14. STAY GREEN RICE:

New variety of Rice grows across the KP i-e of Mansehra, Balakot, Haripur, Shangla, Swat,
Mardan, Nowshehra, Charsadda for pilot scale testing and successfully completed
The strain that may grow 6ft tall with record production of 15 Ton per hectare around 4 time
greater than world average production of rice
This strain of rice could be grown in flood prone areas of Pakistan where flood cause huge
damaged to crop
Stay green rice where grain may mature but straw remain green.
Could be used as dual purpose rice that may fulfill the requirement of both green fodder and
grain.
A drought tolerant rice that could be grown like maize or wheat without standing water

An evergreen shrub growing up to 1.00m tall
Production technology of pepino has been acquired and have sufficient seedlings were easily

19. HEART MURMUR EXTRACTION AND CLASSIFICATION THROUGH SIGNAL PROCESSING:

The completed digital stethoscope system was able to
capture a cardiac signal using- a custom-built acoustic
Sensor and an analog-to-digital converter
OUTCOME:
A real-time audio signal based on the sampled input using a digital-to-analog converter
Record and playback captured signals using external Flash memory
Transmit real-time and recorded serial data via the USART for visualization and analysis
Currently work is in progress to transform the project to handled devices such as smart phones
and will be developed till December this year.

implementing this project and producing low cost talking hands for disabled people will be very
productive
New industry will be flourished which will manufacture sign language to speech converters.
By providing facilities to disabled people the government will facilitate them to play their role in
country development also employment opportunities can be created, it also lessens the workload
on the government

concentrates sucrose solution, clarified apple and orange
juice up to 51◦ brix at 30 °c,5m brine concentration
At average flux of 0.354 l.m-2.hr-1
The quality tests have shown that osmotic distillation preserves the original quality of fruit juices
A pre-concentration microfiltration step is needed for concentration of fresh juices to remove
pulp, prevention of significant flux decline and sustainability of membrane hydrophobicity

Genotyping system is developed which can
efficiently detect the types and subtypes of HCV
prevalent in KP
Genotype Ia,Ib,2A,2b,3a and 3b can be efficiently
detected, and exactly typed
The new HCV genotyping method developed in this
study is highly specific, sensitive and able to
genotype HCV RNA reliably that is directly taken
from clinical samples in practice diagnostic
laboratory

SALIENT FEATURES:
Extraction of Gold and Silver and other base metals from
these huge available deposits (Boulengerite ores) of Chitral
Successful designing, fabrication and installation of pilot
scale multi purpose plant for processing of different types
of Minerals and Metallic ores for research in Material research laboratory.
ACADEMIC & HRD OUTPUT:
01 national conference had been organized on April 22-23, 2015
01 MPhil students eleven M.Sc and eight BS students were trained and doing research on this
plant
08 impact factor International journal paper acknowledged on s the DoST, Govt of Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa Peshawar.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION:
The following processes were optimized in established plant and the relevant facilities are
available for customer from mines and minerals industry:
Successfully upgraded low grade Mn-ore (18 wt %) to medium grade (44%0via acid leaching
process for Mughal iron & steel industries limited Lahore
Successfully upgraded Hematite Ore (55 wt %) to high grade (90 wt %) for Khyber Mineral Swat
limited Swat.

Successfully extracted gold up to 18 wt % via cyanindation process from low grade
Boulaangerite ore the one containing 1.5wt Au or 5ppm.
