Scope of Work:

We are proposing a modification to our approved Certificate of Appropriateness application from the June 2018 hearing. That application included the demolition of an existing non-historic 15’ side deck and the addition of a new 13’-0” screen porch. The modification we are proposing is to close in the screen porch and turn it into an “all-season” porch. The footprint for the new “all-season” porch will the be the same as approved in the June 2018 hearing.

The proposed glass enclosure will match the approved screen layout from our previous application and will consist of operable aluminum clad one light casement windows above operable aluminum clad one light awning or fixed windows. The decision to enclose the porch in this manner was based on the guidelines in 6.1.3 Entrances & Porches which state that the enclosure of side porches visible from the public right-of-way should utilize transparent materials such as screen or glass to maintain the open character of the design.
