The average total timeline to finalise an exploration licence in the December quarter was 239 business days. This includes the time taken for the Commonwealth Native Title Act 1993 expedited process, and times taken for the DMIRS assessment, other government agencies and with the proponent. All exploration licence applications are subject to the Native Title expedited process, which includes a four-month notification period (around 80 business days) prescribed under S29 of the Native Title Act 1993.
