Another guest speaker Ms. Suneetha K S (Batch 2014-16) Assistant professor St. Francis College, Bangalore, shared experience and gave valuable tips for the placement of junior students. 2. Alumni meeting was organized on 12 th of Sept. 2020 at 5.00pm at Zoom platform. Ms.Poojitha K ( Batch 2017-19), Accounts analyst at KPMG, spoke about the types of tests and interviews, about her selection process in KPMG, her job profile, training process and work environment at KPMG. Mrs. Ashwini J.S (Batch 2013-15) ,Senior accounts executive at Khan Globe Architect was also present on this occasion. She discussed about college life and goal setting, tips to clear interview, her experience at Khan Globe Architect Company.

Activities during academic year 2020-21

1. Alumni guest lecture was organized on 5th of Sept. 2020 at Zoom platform. Alumni

guest speaker Ms. Bhargavi HB (Batch 2014-16) Asst. Professor, C.B Bandari Jain

College Bangalore, shared her thoughts. Another guest speaker Ms. Suneetha K S

(Batch 2014-16) Assistant professor St. Francis College, Bangalore, shared experience

and gave valuable tips for the placement of junior students.

2. Alumni meeting was organized on 12th of Sept. 2020 at 5.00pm at Zoom platform.

Mrs. Ashwini J.S (Batch 2013-15) ,Senior accounts executive at Khan Globe

Pre-placement training was organized on 19th of Sept. 2020 at 6.00 pm at Zoom

platform. Alumni guest speaker Dr. S. Chandrashekar, Facilitator – Micro Analysis of

Financial Statements, Ex. –AVP, ING Vysya bank, trainer & director, HR EmpoVer

Solution Pvt. Ltd..

Essay writing competition was conducted for M.Com students on-“Relevance of Gandhian

principles in present world” on 21st January 2021. 30 students participated. Papers were

evaluated by Dr. Sreeveena M R. Below mentioned students secured prizes:-

1st –Rashmi.K M ,2nd- Moulya K and 3rd- Divyashree .

Mentoring session was held on 29-01-2021 for 3rd semester M.Com students to guide

them to overcome with stress and to understand the stress and worries of their parents

which occurred due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Webinar on “Awareness of government schemes” was conducted on 02-02-2021 at

4.00 P M at Zoom platform. Resource person Ms.Ramya K S provided important

information on Government scheme for the welfare of society

Essay writing competition was held on “Government scheme for women empowerment” on 03-02-2021.First prize was given to Ms. Sushmitha and second to

Ms. Tejavathi.

Alumni guest lecture was arranged on 4th February 2021 at zoom platform. On this

occasion alumni Ms. Ayesha A (2015-17 batch), senior associate, Bank of America

addressed to the students.

Mentoring session was held on 04-02-2021 at 10.00 am for 1st semester M.Com

students. Dr Sree veena M R, explained about online certificate courses (MOOC) which

are part of syllabus.

Webinar on Interview tips was conducted on 5th February 2021 at zoom platform On

this occasion, alumni Mr. Daviya Atagrah (2018-20 batch), H R Manager Ailoitte

Technology Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore, gave important tips to clear the interview, he also

shared a video to clear the concept for better understanding of techniques and body

language of the students during their interview.

Orientation on certificate course was organized on 5th Feb 2021, 10.30.pm at new

business block. Resource person was Mr. Amar V Meharwade, Charted accountant &

professional trainer (COMMFINN training & skill development centre).

Induction program was conducted on 18th & 19th Feb 2021. On first day inauguration

was done by Principal Dr.Nagaraj Shenoy. He gave brief about DSI rules and regulation

after his inaugural speech, placement manager, Prof. Guruvenkatesh & IQAC

Coordinator , Prof. Gurunath. R addressed to the students.

Farewell party for 2019 batch was arranged on 20-02-2021. Program started at 10.00

am. On this occasion Principal, Dr.Nagaraj Shenoy addressed to the students and wished

them for their future endeavor. Program started with lighting the lamp and invocation.

Cultural event were also conducted.

Bridge course was conducted during 23rd to 26th of February 2021 for M.Com 1st year

students. 6 faculties shared their expertise on various subjects. Sessions were arranged

from 10.00 AM to 2.00 PM.

Soft skill and placement training was arranged for 1st & 3rd sem students in association

with CIL, DSI. It was an online training program which was conducted from 10th Feb to

16th Feb 2021. Around 62 students attended the training session.

Treasure Hunt Competition was organized on 4th of March 2021 by the students of

M.Com. Event started at 10.00am and ended at 5.30 pm. Spots and clues were given by

senior students and juniors were hunting the treasure with full enthusiasm. Trophy and

certificates were given to the winner team.

Cooking without fire competition was conducted on 5th of March 2021 by the students

of M.Com at 10.00am in business block room number 603. Nine teams of students

participated and prepared delicious items without using fire. Prof. Archana from DSU

and Dr. Sriveena from DSCASC were invited to be the judge for the event.

Fresher’s Day event was organized on Saturday, 6th of March 2021. Students of M.Com

second year invited to juniors on this occasion. Dr. Nagaraj Shenoy, principal, DSCASC

addressed the gathering. Cultural events, fashion show and fun activities were also

conducted.

Workshop on entrepreneurship was organized for the students of first semester,

M.Com on 19th of March 2021. Students delivered speech on various topics.

Ms. Tejavathi--Consequences faced by the organizations in pandemic period.

Ms. Bhavana--Financial crises faced by entrepreneurs due to pandemic situation.

Ms. Shreya Hegade--Issues related to women entrepreneurs

Mr. Yathish-- Necessary skills to start a business

An orientation on business canvas model was organized for the students of first

semester, M.Com on 18th of March 2021.The whole business canvass was explained by

giving examples of start- ups.

Webinar on Entrepreneurship was conducted on 17th of April at 12.30 PM on zoom

platform. Resource person was Dr.Vasanthkumar SA. He addressed students on 12

jewels of entrepreneurship an entrepreneur attitude. During his session, he conducted one

quiz and made students to interact on various challenges of entrepreneurship.

Online quiz on IBE (International Business Environment) was organized on 15th of

May at 9.00 am for first year M.Com students. As students have studied international

business environment as a subject, they participated enthusiastically. Ms. Lavanya S

scored highest marks and Ms. Sushmitha stood at second position.

Mentoring session on value added courses was organized on 25th of May 2021 at

9.00am. at zoom platform. Resource person was Mr. Amar Meharwade. He is a CA and

professional trainer, providing training to many students on additional value added

courses, relate to finance.

Webinar on Digital Banking was organized by Dr. Keerthi Arvind on 28th of May 2021 at

10.00 am at zoom platform. She explained Digital Banking-Its benefits, banking products, types

of digital banking payments, future of digital banking.

Webinar on Strategic Talent Management was organized by Ms. Ramya S on 29th of May

2021 at 2.30pm at zoom platform. She explained need of talent management and its life cycle.

Student’s queries were satisfied at the end of the session.

Webinar on entrepreneurship was organised on 03-06-2021 at 11.20 PM at zoom

platform. Resource person Mrs. Shalini S explained challenges for Entrepreneurs in

pandemic situation.

Debate competition was organized on zoom platform for M.Com first semester students on 12

June 2021 on topic “In present scenario, moral values and ethics are declining.”Students

shared their views in for and against of the topic.

For of the topic- Ms. Sushmitha, Ms. Lavanya, Ms. Indumathi, Ms. Shobha and Ms. Shriya.

Against of the topic- Ms. Bhavya, Mr. Kushal, Ms.Aishwarya, Ms. Roshini, Ms. Pooja V and

Ms. Swetha.

Ms. Shobha scored highest marks in for and Ms. Roshini scored highest marks in against of

the topic. Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Yathish.

Orientation program on “Project Management” was organized for 4th semester students on

24th June 2021 through Zoom platform. Introduction, industry profile, review of literature,

research design, formation of questionnaire, data analysis and interpretation, findings,

conclusion, alignment of certificates and annexure were discussed in detail.

Webinar on “Research Methodology for Project Management” was organized for M.Com

students on 12-07-2021 at 4.30 pm at zoom platform. Resource person was Dr. Revathy

Shivashankaran, Principal, GIBS B School, Bangaluru. She explained about formulation of

research problem, extensive literature survey, developing hypothesis, research design, literature

survey, determining sample design etc. Meeting ended with a vote of thanks to resource person

for sharing her knowledge and expertise with students.

Workshop on “Preparation of Project Report” was organized for M.Com students on 14-07-

2021 at 2.30 pm at zoom platform. Resource person was Dr. Arvind R. Gajakosh, Assit prof.&

HOD Business Management Department, HNB Garhwal Central University, Srinagar,

Uttarakhand. During the session he covered various topics like, time management, research

design, literature review, data analysis, finding suggestions, conclusion, certificates, annexure

etc. Queries were satisfied at the end of the session. Meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Dr.

Savita Trivedi.

Webinar on “Career Opportunities in Finance and Taxation” was organized on 20-7-2021 at

2.30 pm at zoom platform. Resource person was Mr. Amar Meharwade, FCA, DISA,

Founder, Chief Trainer and Coach M/s. Commfinn (Training & Skill development centre)

Bangaluru. During the session various topics were covered by the resource person. Some of

them are, How to choose career? Career in commerce, need of the hour, guidance of experts and

seniors, opportunities etc. It was a very informative session.

Workshop on “Tools for Data Analysis” was organized on 26-7-2021 for M.Com IV sem.

students. Resource person was Dr. Bishetti Ramesh, Associate Professor at GHBS, GITAM

(Deemed to be University), Hyderabad. During the session he explained about mean, mode,

median, percentage, correlation, analysis of variance (ANOVA) etc. It was a very useful and

interactive session.

Webinar on “Planning for organizational business activities during pandemic situation.”

was organized on 30th of July 2021 at 12.10 pm. at zoom platform. Resource person was Dr.

Avanish Kumar Shukla, Professional Member of CPA Australia and Chartered Accountant.

Currently acting dean for the College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies, Fiji

National University.

During the session various topics were covered by the by him. Some of them are, business

activities, know your stakeholders, supply chain, enough resource, enough finance, strong

professional network. It was a very informative session.

Alumni guest lecture was organized on 9th of August 2021 at 1.00 pm at zoom platform.

Alumni Ms. Madhuri A H (Batch 2017-19) presently working in Karnataka Bank,

Bangaluru, gave useful information and tips about competitive exams and interviews. It was a

very informative and interactive session. Queries were satisfied at the end. Vote of thanks was

given by Ms. Jyothi K, students of 3rd semester M.Com.
