As we all know, a newsletter
mirrors a college, a depart-
ment, its vision and mission.
It also highlights events, ac-
tivities and academic prowess
and achievements. I con-
gratulate the department for
its first eNewsletter. I do hope
that this will encourage many
more including students to
use it as a platform.
Dr. P Sankar
Professor, HOD IT
Learning is a lifelong process.
Education is more important
affair in our life than learning
or being literate. The newslet-
ter is a good way to learn
about developments and ac-
tivities and let others know. I
congratulate all the people
who have been associated
with this publication.
Sri Gangi Reddy. A
Chairman & Founder
It is wisely said that change is
the only thing that is perma-
nent in life. So be it, for the
department as well. Since this
is for first time, the eNewslet-
ter is introduced, I congratu-
late the editorial board, advi-
sory board and the depart-
ment for the very first step
towards online publication. I
hope everyone would be bene-
fited with it.
Dr.T Kalpalatha Reddy,
Principal, SVEW
We are glad to bring out our eNewsletter Look Inside, which also happens to be our first online publica-
tion. Carrying forward our agenda of information clubbed with entertainment, this issue features variety
of news and soft features. This issue provides information of faculty members, departmental activities and
new technologies that came into existence. I really appreciate the efforts done by Ms. Brindha K - Assistant Professor, in designing LOOK INSIDE -
eNewsletter to make this dream come true. Look Inside is thankful to all who contributed. We are equally open to comments, criticism and sugges-
tions to make it more informative.

Success is no accident, It is hard work, perseverance, learning,
studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning
to do. It doesn’t matter what others are doing. It matters what you are
doing. Lots of people think they deserve success as some sort of a right,
but here’s the truth….success is something you need to earn through
your efforts.

Blockchain will reveal new
opportunities in different industries
Everyone is now talking about blockchain, a revolu-
tionary decentralized technology that stores and ex-
changes data for cryptocurrencies. Blockchain stores
an ever-growing list of ordered records called blocks,
each containing a timestamp and a link to the previ-
ous block. For example, blockchain strongly influ-
ences the intellectual property management and
opens new insights in protection from copyright in-

The Internet of Things will become intel-
ligent The intelligent things are everyday devices capable of
smarter interactions with people and the environment.
These things operate either semi-autonomously or
autonomously in uncontrolled real-world conditions
without the need for human intervention. A network
of collaborative intelligent things will be created where
multiple devices will work together developing IoT to
its full potential. The fusion of artificial intelligence with
the Internet of things brings about new amazing tech-
nologies to create smart homes and cities.

New depth sensors could be sensitive enough
for self-driving cars
Computational method improves the resolution of
time-of-flight depth sensors 1,000-fold. Larry

style approach, a GHz approach, and a stronger GHz

New approaches to privacy and security
are coming The technological development boosts the importance of
data, so hacking techniques become ever more progres-
sive. The increase in numbers of devices connected to the
internet creates more data but also makes it more vulner-
able and less protected. IoT gadgets are getting more
popular and widely used, yet they remain extremely inse-
cure in terms of the data privacy. Machine learning will be
the most significant security trend establishing a probabilis-
tic, predictive approach to ensuring data security. Imple-
menting techniques like behavioral analysis enables detect-
ing and stopping an attack capable of bypassing the static
protective systems.

The Department is in its toddler’s stage with ongoing second year. In the years, it has been planned to grow our expertise and competence in the core areas of information technology. The primary focus of this newsletter is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem solving skills and encourage develop-ment of innovative applications. I wish all the best to the people who have contrib-uted to this newsletter.

Empowering women through education - Educa-
tion is one of the most important means of empowering
women with the knowledge, skills and self-confidence neces-
sary to participate fully in the development process.
SVEW provides a vibrant and diverse residential
learning community where highly talented women and those
with uncommon potential from many cultural and religious
backgrounds can grow both intellectually and personally.
At the heart of SVEW has the civic and academic
goal to cultivate successive generations of women leaders
who possess the skills and resources to address the chal-
lenges of social and economic advancement of their commu-
nities. SVEW adheres to the belief that no group has a mo-
nopoly on talent and is committed to providing a superior
quality higher education to the region’s most outstanding
women, regardless of background.
