Denver Water Vasquez Tunnel Access Road Culvert Replacement Project Culvert Material Procurement Specification Summary: Provide two aluminum arch culverts per dimensions shown on the Drawings and requirements stated in this specification. General: 1) Submit shop drawings including engineering fabrication drawings and calculations. 2) Structural design of foundation and arch shall be performed by a Colorado Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.). Drawings and calculations shall be sealed by a Colorado P.E. 3) Provide 2 full, 8 hour, days of on-site training and observation for training on assembly and installation of product. 4) Provide delivery to job site located near Winter Park, Colorado. See Exhibit 1, Delivery Exhibit, for specific location. Note that a portion of the roadway from Winter Park to the site is a maintained gravel road. 5) Delivery of all material to the designated location shall occur by no later than Friday August 16, 2019. Foundation: 1) Foundation shall be concrete spread footer 2) Soil Bearing Capacity: 1500 psf 3) Concrete air content: 5% to 8% of volume of batch when tested in accordance with ASTM C231. 4) Provide embedded lifting anchors on each piece 5) Depth as shown on the drawings Culvert: 1) Dimensions as shown on Drawings 2) Design Specification: AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification, 8 th Edition a. Minimum Cover: 1’ – 6” (above neutral axis) b. Maximum Cover: 4’-0” (above neutral axis) 3) Meet requirements of ASTM B864 – Standard Specification for Corrugated Aluminum Box Culverts 4) Material: Aluminum per ASTM B864 Exclusions: The following items are not included: 1) Unloading at job site 2) Assembly 3) Installation
