• Only carry out the maintenance procedureslisted in this manual. All other maintenanceMUST be carried out by authorized servicepersonnel.

• For the dental unit to function efficiently itmust be regularly serviced.

• If the quality of the water being used with theunit is poor, an additional water filter mayhave to be installed. (Refer to the installationmanual)

• The compressed air being used with the unitmust be dry and oil free. The air compressormust be fitted with an air dryer and/orcondensation valve. (Refer to the installationmanual)

Whenyou switch the dental unit on you will hear anaudible signal and the switch light will come on.

NoteNoteNoteNoteNoteIf the dental chair is connected to the power supplyvia the dental unit (i.e. the dental chair does nothave its own power supply), the dental chair willautomatically come on when the unit is switchedon.Note that the chair's ON/OFF switch must be in theON position for this to happen.

The lights next to theSP key indicate what power level has been selected.To change the power levels press the SP keyrepeatedly until the light combination for thepower level you require appears. The power level/light combinations are as follows:- 100% power = no lights on- 50% power = top light on- 30% power = bottom light on

Note that the scaler power level will automaticallyreturn to the 100% level, i.e. no lights on, wheneverthe unit is switched off and then on again.

TTTTTray holderray holderray holderray holderray holderThe tray holder is attached to a tray holder armwhich is attached to the underside of the instru-ment bridge on either the left- or the right-handside. The arm is angled allowing the tray to bepositioned either high or low depending on whichway round the arm is attached.To position the tray holder loosen the two tray armknobs, move the tray holder to the required posi-tion and then tighten the two knobs.

The tray holder will hold one standard size tray ortwo half size trays. A double size tray holder isavailable as an option.

Twice a day, midday and evening, allow one glass ofsuction hose cleaning agent to be sucked througheach hose. Make sure that you prepare and use it inaccordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

Twice a day, midday and evening, empty and rinsethe suction hose filters. The suction hose filters arelocated inside the connectors that connect thesuction tubes to the cuspidor. To empty the filter,pull the suction hose connector from the cuspidor.Lift the filter out and rinse it. Also empty anydebris that is inside the connector. Replace thefilter and reconnect the suction hose connector tothe cuspidor.

The rollers and holders at the end of the whip armscan be removed so that the instrument tubes can becleaned.To remove the roller and holder slide the holder upslightly until the roller can be removed, and thenremove the holder.

When replacing the roller and holder note that thetwo flats on the roller axle must engage in the slotin the holder, so that the holes line up, before theroller and holder can be slide back onto the whiparm.

On units that are fitted with hanging tubeinstruments the instrument holders can beremoved.To do this tilt the instrument holder forward as faras it will go, and then lift the holder up slightlyuntil it disengages from the holding pin. The holdercan then be removed.
