Sports & Rec: Preschool & Youth
Basketball
These programs are a great opportunity for you and your child to learn
and love the sport of basketball. Originally started by the YMCA,basketball is a fun team sport that develops character and teamwork.
Itty Bitty Basketball ages 3-4: For the first week, kids willpractice and learn the basic fundamentals of basketball.The next five weeks of the program they will playscheduled games.
Saturday mornings, beginning Jan. 10
Registration: Sept. 29 Nov. 2
MEM: $70 PRO: $85
Youth Basketball League ages 5-18: 6 & under and 8 &under age groups will practice once a week for one hour
and will play games on Saturdays. 10 & under and aboveage groups will practice one or twice week and will playgames on Saturday afternoons and evenings.
Practices start the week of Dec. 1
Games start Dec. 13
Registration: Sept. 29 Nov. 2
Ages 5-8: MEM: $75 PRO: $90
Ages 9-18: MEM: $80 PRO: $95
Cheerleading
Cheerleading ages 5-12: Looking for a fun program foryour child to do this winter? Well look no further. We areoffering a fun-filled cheerleading program for your child toparticipate in during the youth basketball season. Duringthis program your child will learn traditional cheers anddance routines. Cheerleaders will practice twice a week& perform on Saturdays at our youth basketball games.
Registration: Sept. 29 Nov. 2
Season: January 10 February 15, 2009

Youth Indoor Soccer ages 4-17: This is theideal program for youth soccer fans whowant to stay in shape and have fun duringthe winter months. Indoor soccer is a fast-paced game with lots of excitement.

Karate

Adult Leagues
Adult Mens Basketball League ages 18+: Join theYMCA Mens Basketball League for some fun and com-petitive basketball play. League will include 10 weeks ofgames and a post season tournament. Team and/or indi-vidual awards will be given at the end of each season.

Adult Co-ed Volleyball ages 18+: Join the YMCA AdultCo-ed Volleyball League for some fun and competitiveplay. League will include 8 weeks of games and a post

Volunteers Wanted! Volunteers are veryimportant to the YMCA and the community itserves. Volunteering not only makes theDecatur-DeKalb YMCA a better place, but it alsogives you an opportunity to touch a life, to makenew friends, and to personally grow.
Happy Club Chaperone/Driver: Twice amonth on weekends we take young adults 16years and older with disabilities to activitiesout in the community (Braves game, bowling,movies & dinner, etc.).
Gymnastics Assistants: Help instructors withchildren, set up and break down gymnasticequipment.
Member Greeter: Greet members as theycome to workout at the YMCA.
Sports Coaches: Teaching basic skills forsports recreation programs for ages 3 to 18,such as soccer and basketball.
Sports Field Monitor: Assist with field lining,field monitoring and office administration.
Refugee Program: Assist with instruction insoccer to children ages 4-14, or help providesnacks for participants.
Partner With Youth: Join other YMCA membersby helping us raise money for our Partner WithYouth Annual Campaign. Toghether, we helpkids and families participate in Y programs!
