    All drivers must have a valid drivers licenseand shall carry it whenever operating a vehicle.

    Individuals must not be assigned as drivers ofcompany vehicles, fire trucks, forklifts andother vehicles until they have undergone and

    passed the Defensive Driving Courseconducted by the Safety Section.

    Always wear safety belt.

    Hands on the wheel, not on the phone.

    Follow traffic/road signs.Observe traffic rules. Dont overload & over speed.

    Observe courtesy to others, including pedestrians.

    Dont drink alcoholic beverages.

    Have at least 8 hours sleep/rest.

    Observe 15 minutes rest every 2 to 3 hourscontinuous drive.

    Never drive more than 10 hours in a single day.

    Maintain safe distance from leading vehicle.

    Motorcycle operators must wear the followingprotective equipment when operating/riding a

    motorcycle:

    A properly fastened helmet that meets LTO

    standards.

    Properly worn eye-protective devices, which aredefined as impact- or shatter-resistanteyeglasses, goggles, or a face shield attached to ahelmet.

    A motorcycle-mounted windshield is notconsidered to be proper eye protection.

    A long-sleeved shirt or jacket, long-leggedtrousers, and full-finger leather or equivalentgloves.

    Properly worn hard-soled shoes with heels.Riders are encouraged to wear over-the-ankleshoes or boots.

    The proper personal protective equipment formotorcycle riders does much more than protectthem during a mishap.

    It also protects them from exposure to theenvironment. A helmet and eye/face protectionprotect from wind blast, sand, gravel, bugs, andso forth. Clothing protects the riders fromweather, flying objects, and hot parts of themotorcycle.

    Since motorcyclists are exposed to theseconditions each time they ride, they should

    protect themselves as much as possible bywearing personal protective equipment.
