person have %een utile5 $s you !an see; spend a lot o time and energy on

tness and sports training during the day and a lot o time and energy

studying at night5 $s a studentathlete; try to put my energy in a!ademi!s

my values5 *ol is an individual sport; so growing up learnt to %e

independent; !ondent; !ourageous; and persevering5 #oming to the United

States or !ollege; and playing team gol has taught me a lot more5 $s a

team we look out or ea!h other; and loyalty and teamwork is what makes us

stronger5 %elieve that the time spend on the !ourse with the team has

improved all the values that want in my lie5

"he reason why my parents enrolled me in this retreat was to tea!h me

humility and the value o teamwork5 Playing a ri!h and also an individual

sport su!h as *ol made me arrogant and now that look %a!k; >m sure this

retreat has !hanged me or the %est5

"he guys who were with me and had two things in !ommon5 9ne; we

all wanted to get out o this pla!e5 "wo; we didn>t even know what teamwork

meant5 We did sort o try to !ome together to get out o it; %ut when it

!ounted most we weren>t there or ea!h other5

"he turning point happened when ell into a swamp and the guys had

to res!ue me5 Aor some reason they thought didn>t know how to swim? ind

o weird; seeing that had a swimming pool in my house5 'ut that moment

when they res!ued me !hanged us all rom working as individuals into an

a!tual team5

We still talk to ea!h other; those guys are like my %rothers5 $nd in the

se!ond night when we told stories to ea!h other; one o them was a%out the

nights "emplar5 We all wanted to %e like them; and de!ided to !all ourselves
