TWILIGHT CARNIVAL AND STALLS DAY We are pleased to invite all parents to our Twilight Carnival and Stalls evening on Friday 6 December. Please make a note in your diaries for this date. We will be showcasing our Performing Arts, Dance, Music, Kapa haka and other items. An official invitation and programme has been sent out to parents. Date: Friday 6 December. Time: 3.0pm – 7.30pm Performances will commence at 4.00pm through to 7.30pm in :the BBI Sports Cloud” and in the Hall. As Friday is such a late day, students cam start school at 10.30am on Friday 6 December. We really want all students to attend this event so please arrange a time for them to travel home from school in the evening. Students are able to wear mufti on Friday 6 December. There will be stalls and food available for purchase. This will be cash only. Classroom teachers will organise to ensure that any money brought to school for the stalls day is kept secure and given out to students when school finishes and stalls open. Thank you to the community for their support. TWILIGHT CARNIVAL MUFTI DAY Friday 6 December will be a free MUFTI day. END OF YEAR ORGANISATION Our Prize Giving day is on Friday 13 December. School reports will go home in the afternoon after prize giving. This is a normal school day, and students will be expected to stay at school and finish at 3.00pm as usual. Students will be expected to be in formal school uniform for this day. 11.00am – Year 7 Prize giving in the hall. 1.30pm – Year 8 Prize giving in the hall. Monday 16 December is our Year 7 Day in and the Year 8’s celebrate their end of year at Lagoon Leisure centre. Tuesday 17 December – yearbooks will go home and we will be holding farewell assemblies. School will close at 12 noon on this day. Wednesday 18 December. Last day of term. School will close at 12 noon. This is an optional day for Year 8 students. SCHOOL REPORTS The school reports will be handed out to all students to take home at 3.00pm on Friday 13 December. If any student is leaving early and would like their report and/or yearbook posted to them (we do not hand these out early), please ensure that you give your student a stamped addressed A4 (large) envelope, and hand this to your classroom teacher. SCHOOL YEARBOOK The school yearbook will be handed out to all students on Tuesday 17 December. We are proud of our yearbook. It is a wonderful reminder of all the activities and student involvement at BBI. Most students will have paid towards they cost of the yearbook through their stationery order. If anyone wishes to make a further donation towards the cost of the yearbook, that would be appreciated.

MAORI / PACIFIC KNOWLEDGEATHON 2019 Thank you to everyone who supported the Maori Pacific Knowledgeathon. It was great to see the learning that went along with the fundraising. We are still collecting sponsorship money. Please ensure that this is handed to the office as soon as possible.

CANS WEEK Thank you to everyone who supported our CANS Week collections through the year. BBI is a major contributor to the CANS collection, and we can be proud that we have helped make someone’s Christmas happier. AFTER SCHOOL LIBRARY CARE We would like to advise that the last day for After School Library Care for 2019 is Friday 13 December, and the library will close at 4.30pm. Parents of students who regularly use the library after school care should have received a separate notice. MUFTI DAYS All students will be able to attend school in Mufti from Monday 16 December. This will give time to wash and get any uniforms ready for the uniform sales.

SCHOOL CAFÉ The last day for the school café is Friday 13 December. HOST FAMILIES FOR 2020 Our school will be expecting visiting students from Korea, China, Japan and Thailand in the beginning of Term 1, 2020 and staying between 1 & 3 weeks. We are looking for homestay families to host them. Hosts are paid from $280+ per week, depending on the group. We usually place two students per home. Students who are placed two per home can share a room, but must have their own bed. END OF YEAR UNIFORM SALE Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who help out in the Uniform Shop. We have a full set of volunteers to help with the End of Year sales as well as helping in 2020. Please ensure that all uniforms for sale are in good condition and washed.
