Congratulations Graduates!!!

“Outlive Your Life” Beginning May 1st

Starting next Sunday, we will kickoff Outlive

Your Life - a new church-wide study that will

encourage us to draw closer together in Christ

now to impact the generations to come. Minister and writer, Max Lucado, has devel-

oped a study that challenges us to discover how

we can outlive our lives, not just in heaven but

here on earth. His study states: We are created by a great God to do great works. He invites us to rock the world with hope and infiltrate all corners with God’s love and life. So how do we live in such a way that the world will be glad we did? All Sunday school classes, from high school on

up, will be going through a small group study,

followed by a worship service with a relating

message. So we invite you to find a class this

May as we begin the journey of change, to im-

pact our communities and the world.

A TRIBUTE TO MOTHER

Another Mother’s Day is here, Bringing joy and pleasures new, On this special day, Mother dear, I want to remember you. I cannot give you costly gifts And I’ve told you this before, No matter what I give to you, You give back much, much more. I’m giving you a pure, sweet rose, Gathered in the early morn, This rose you planted in my heart, The day that I was born. In kindly, loving thoughts of you, And with the faith you still impart, The rose I give to you today, Is the love that’s in my heart.

Hi, Everyone,

You sure made my day! I was just going out the door from

Frankenmuth to Saginaw for my hyper-baric and doctors appt.

on Thursday when the delivery person brought in the beautiful

plant. What a nice surprise! Thanks for all the prayers, cards

and calls. Will be great to be back to Novesta. Love,

Bill Britt

Dear Friends of Novesta Church of Christ,

Thank you so much for your support during this difficult

time. Thank you for the plant arrangement, your visits, your

phone calls and the many cards. I have the promise of seeing

her for all eternity. At least she’s not in pain and suffering any-

more.

Thank you for continued prayers for our family.

With Much Love,

Dave & Kathy Storey

Dear Church Family,

Thank you all so much for your prayers, cards, meals,

phone calls and transportation these past 6 months. Special

thanks to those who cleaned our home and helped with our

move back to Caro.

We are so thankful and grateful to our awesome church

family and to our amazing Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for

His healing! We are very blessed to have such a caring and

thoughtful church family. With Grateful Hearts,,

Gib & Pam Kern

PS: Pam is now back to work and doing well. Once again —

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!!!

To my church family,

I want to thank all of you for the prayers, visits, phone calls

and gifts while I was in the hospital and for the food when I got

home. The cards really helped to brighten my days and to keep

my spirits up. I am still working on all of the reading material.

In Christ’s Love,

Doris Hendrick

Novesta Church Family,

Thank you very much for your prayers and support. We

really appreciate the Pastors coming to visit and pray over Kas-

sie. She has been improving daily but still needs prayer for a

full recovery. It is times like this when it is great to have sup-

port. You have supplied this support and have made these

times easier. God is an awesome God and has moved in Kas-

sie’s life. Thanks again,

A Mystery …

Who Could It Be Who could it be? When you think

you’ve figured out who the mystery

person is, ask them if you’re right.

Our last Mystery Person was

SUSIE HARTWICK

Here are the clues for this month’s mystery

person:

• I was a Tiger, then a Hawk, now part of

the Cardinal family.

• I have a wife, three children, dog and a

cat who are raising me and I attend

church myself for the most part.

• I don’t use salt & pepper but by the looks

of my hair you would think different.

Who Do You Think I Am???

Later this month we’ll be looking for vol-unteers to help make this year’s VBS the best ever @ Novesta. We’ll need lots of energetic folks to team up with us to make this week a special and lasting memory for our kids to realize that Jesus is Amazing! We extend our most heartfelt sympathy...

...to Kathy & David Storey on the pass-

ing of her mother, Marlys Loose, on

March 28. Please keep this family in prayer as they

mourn the loss of their

loved one.

Due to the generous donations

from the Boy Scout Food Drive,

we will forgo the Pantry Sunday

this month. Watch the bulletin

for a notice of things we are get-

ting low on. Thank you ALL for

your thoughtfulness in donating food.

Lunch Bunch OutingLunch Bunch OutingLunch Bunch OutingLunch Bunch Outing “Plant Farm Tour”

TUESDAY, MAY 24 ~ 8:30 A.M.

Plan to meet at the church and we’ll head off to the plant farms. We sure have had fun doing this in the past and we expect to have a great day this time also. We’ll either go to west to Bay City or south to Marlette and North Branch. And of course, we’ll find a place to have lunch. Come join us in a day of fun and fellowship. Sign up so we know how many to plan on.

We need some willing hands to do the trim-ming around our church yard for the sum-mer. It’s probably about 1 hour per week and the equipment and gas are provided. If you would like to be part of a group or would like to lead a group to do this job, please let the church office know.

PRAYER

MINISTRY

SPEAKS “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth

nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are

spirit and they are life.” John 6:63 KJ

Spend time in prayer and please make these your prayer requests for May 2011:

• Pray for us to find forgiveness toward our brothers and

sisters, which allows our father to show His mercy upon us in a multitude of tender mercies. Psalm 51:1

• Pray for us to thank God for He has delivered us from the Power of Darkness. Colossians 1:13

• Pray for us to believe what we read. For God’s kingdom not only includes heaven but earth. His authority has been given to us. We should enjoy His kingdom. Matthew 28:18

• Pray for us all to pray to our Father daily. For us to read and understand God’s given new Covenant in the Book of Hebrews (chapter 8)

• Pray for us to keep in mind what our God hath said about the foolish things of the world. I Corinthians 1:27

• Pray for us to always have great joy when we fall into temptations (trials). James 1:2-3

• Pray for us to remember the words to the brothers, how that not many were wise by human standards, not many were influential, not many were of noble birth. I Corinthians 1:26 NIV

Remember,

Guardian Angels, This is our church family, we should all pray

every day for all of God’s children,

be faithful in your prayers.

Community Prayer Topic: Pray for our community to believe that faith without works is dead in itself alone. Just having them realize, you must

have works for your faith to work.

A special note from me to you: Knowing the term to bless is to empower one to prosper. To prosper means to excel in something that is desirable as well as good. We’ve been given a blessing through Abraham for we are his seed. This is the covenant that our God entered into for us.

Our BEGINNER BIBLE BOWL teams had a great sea-son that wrapped up this month. Overall the team finished in 5th place for the year. Congrats to all of our kids that did a tremendous job of studying hard and playing well as a team. For the year, all of our kids finished in the top 25 on the test, and Josh Brandel finished 1st place on the test for April. Congrats to CarLee Stimpfel, Josh Brandel, Caitlyn Maurer, Hailey Beckrow, & Logan Severance on a great year! Many thanks to Sharron Hartwick, Ann Roche, Clem & Sally Koepf, and Donella Peasley for the hours of prac-tice time and study that you put in with our kids. Thanks also to the parents for getting the kids to practice and for your great participation in attending the round robins. We look forward to another fun year starting in the fall!

GOLF OUTING

Tuesday May 24th, we’ll be hosting a golf scramble

letins and during announcements.

ing for volunteers to help make this year’s party special. If

you are interested in helping out and can stay up late or

really, really early : ) , we’d love to have you join the team.

Please let Brad Speirs know as soon as possible that you’ll

be available and please also keep this event in your prayers.

Church Camp Check out the board in the mid-dle hallway for registration in-formation and sign-up your kids for a week that will change their lives forever. As Parents, our choices and priorities make a huge difference in who our kids become… choose wisely as you fill up your summer calendars!
