Attention Clay County Residents who are 60+ years of age. Clay County Senior Services will provide class scholarships to Clay County residents age 60 and older for exercise classes through the City of Gladstone Parks & Recreation Department. This includes both land and water classes. Clay County Senior Services will pay up to $30 per person, each quarter, not to exceed $120.00 per year. Funds will be available until the max amount is met per quarter. This is a first come, first serve basis.

Gladstone Community Center—Walking Club Punch Pass Program— Walk Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Punch Pass costs $12.00 for 12 punches. The Clay County Senior Services Subsidy program can be used toward punch card. Buy your pass at the Gladstone Community Center.

PELLA TULIP FESTIVAL - MAY 7-8, 2015 - This trip is offered every other year due to it’s popularity. This year celebrates the 80th Annual Tulip Time Festival in Pella, Iowa. You’ll enjoy a step on guided tour of Pel-la, then you’ll have time on your own to shop in their ex-quisite stores filled with imported goods, and bask in the sensational smells of the bakeries and meat markets as you purchase goods made from old-family recipes. Food stands fill side streets with food ranging from traditional Dutch to American. Demonstrations of Dutch Letter mak-ing and wooden shoe carving take place in the Historical Village. TRAIN ROBBERIES OF THE OLD WEST MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2014

10:30 A.M. This program is presented by The Durham Museum. With great expansion and settlement of the west also came some-thing a little more undesirable; the Outlaws. As soon as the tracks were laid bad guys began turning their attention from robbing banks to the railroads crossing vast open country carrying money, goods and passengers, with only the train’s crew as defense. In this session you will explore the fol-lowing robberies out of the many that took place in the old west: The Rock Island James Gang Robbery in 1873, Adair Iowa. First Moving train robbery and first train robbery west of the Mississippi. Big Nosed George’s attempted robbery in 1878 at Medi-cine Bow Wyoming. In this failed robbery the consequenc-es for the robbers were almost unbelievable. Tipton Wyoming Union Pacific train robbery. A well-documented robbery by the Hole in the Wall Gang in 1899. Part of the movie “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” was based on this robbery. There will be time for questions at the end. The program will last approximately 45 minutes. Gladstone Seniors: Fourth Monday of each month, 10:30 a.m. business meeting followed by entertainment and pot-luck luncheon.

Cancer Action Workshop: 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of each month, 9:00 a.m. - Noon

Pinochle Club: Mondays at 12:30 p.m. (no partner need-ed)

Bridge: Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. (no partner needed)

Gladstone Duplicate Bridge Club: Mondays at 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
