faith - to know God's peace and discover how God

4th Sunday of Advent| 3
A NOTE FROM FATHER
JOHN IRELAND NEWS
Dear Parishioners,
Happy Fourth Sunday of Advent! Reduced to only a day, perhaps it is good to have one more day.
And Merry Christmas!!! Remember that after Advent, we celebrate Christmas for 12+ days. The solemn
ending of Christmas is Epiphany, traditionally January 6 (hence the 12 days of Christmas) and celebrated in
the US on the Sunday closest to it, January 8th this year. May your Christmas celebrations be filled with joy
and love.
Starting, coincidently, on the Feast of Epiphany January 7 through the 10th, we are excited to be hosting an
Area Faith Community Mission with Deacon Ralph Poyo. He was with us two years ago, and so many wished
they would have been to all four nights. So mark your calendars and clear the nights. Invite your friends and
extended family. All are welcome.
~ In Christ, Fr. Todd

We are a Catholic community welcoming students
of all faiths, devoted to Gospel Values, Academic
Excellence, and Christian Service.
The outpouring of support has been amazing! We are grateful for all who took ornaments off
our Tree of Wishes and bought items for our classrooms. We are grateful for the monetary
donations. We are especially grateful for your prayers. We are truly blessed!
May your Christmas and New Year’s be filled with JOY, peace, and good health!

Prayer Warriors Needed
Please consider being a prayer warrior for our Parish
Mission coming in January. How do you become a
prayer warrior? All you need to do is add the Parish
Mission to your daily prayers and add in the specific
intention each week. This week’s intention is:
For those planning to attend the Parish Mission, that
they would have the courage to extend an
invitation to those who may not be planning to
attend.
Did you know we have a John Ireland Education Fund? This
fund was established in March 2006 with Catholic Community
Foundation. The interest rate has varied over the years, but
recently the rate has been between 5-13%. This fund was
established to invest in the education of students mainly
through scholarships.
Your contribution is tax deductible. If you would like to make
a charitable donation to this fund, please make checks payable
to John Ireland School, Attn.: Education Fund and mail to
1801 W Broadway or drop it off in the school office. You will
receive a Single Gift Acknowledgement for your tax purposes.
Donations are accepted any time throughout the year.
Please continue to include John Ireland School and Little Angels Preschool in your prayers. We will continue to pray for
you! May your Christmas and New Year’s be filled with
happiness, peace, and many blessings!
